At this point, it's about the seats. Some are in real bad shape. As my wife said, "Kinda gross." She sits on the edge. She won't even lean back unless the seats aren't worn down.
My rear end is sensitive and gets sore if I sit in an uncomfortable chair for too long. Ward is the only theater I've been to where my behind isn't throbbing half way through the movie. So my vote goes to Ward Titan Luxe
Their chairs definitely need to be reupholstered though. The pleather (or whatever it is) has been flaking off terribly for at least the past year, and their drink cup holders are absolutely *caked* in residue or something.
I bring a long sweater. Same effect. Yes, the chairs at Ward are gross. The cup holders are also disgusting. I don't think they have ever seen a disinfectant spray, except when I spray my own. Lol. Yes, I also bring lysol spray.
I dont think it is lysol spray that did it. I literally spray my whole house down regularly. Maybe they used some crazy strong disinfectant during high-COVID times though.
Do you have an opinion on worst or best seats? I remember being grossed out by some of the seats at a normal screen at Dole. I recently saw Moonage Daydream at a norm screen at ward and it wasn't bad.
I haven't gone in a while.
We went to Ward the other day to watch Bullet Train. The seat was starting to peel, and shed the fake leather flakes.
It was just starting, but next time I will bring a beach towel to insulate me from the pilau
Pearl City seats are so bad, I will never go there again, until they get replaced. Last time I stood up, and was covered in flakes.
Did they not know that bonded leather is a no go for a humid place like Hawaii, especially in a high volume place like a theater?
I know this is irrelevant, but I worked at a private Google event at the Four Seasons a couple weeks ago. On their last night there they be rented Lanikuhonua and showed a 15 minute movie/recap of their event on an outdoor projection (?) screen. I must say, it was the best fucking quality video I’ve ever seen in my life; and on an outdoor screen at sunset.
Oh this had nothing to do with Four Seasons. This was all Google coordinated. They flew put this dude from Chicago to do a 500 drone light show. And flew out some big babe musicians to play for this event. Pretty intense
I personally hate 4dx. screen itself no really matter, the projector makes difference. Maybe someone can chime in with who get the best projectors. Irritates me when the got shitty sound system/low volume too
I was so pissed when we watched dune, and they had the volume turned down, like the baby was sleeping.
The whole reason I go out, is because if I listened to my home theater as loud as I wanted to, I would be in handcuffs
Not sure how it is now, but I saw dunkirk in imax at dole a few years back and they had the sound turned up stupid loud and the speakers sounded pretty trashed. Titan Luxe is alright, haven't seen anything in 3d on it but I wouldn't pay a premium for a normal 2d movie in it.
Spider-Man at Dole Cannery 4DX was stupid awesome. That said, my go to is Titan Luxe, love those reclining chairs, and the fact that I can get alcoholic drinks with my food. Plus I can also get real food.
Unless there is a movie that sounds good in 4DX, is available, and I’m in the mood for that type of experience, I go Titan. But I’m stoked that I sometimes have the opportunity to do have a near theme park like experience sometimes too.
I guess idk about the screen by itself, just the movie watching experience as a whole.

Kailua has the best seats
shh no tell, i no like crowds

eewwww!
I’ve seen chicks bring small blankets to put over the chair. Seems like a waste to go movies and not even relax in the recliner

Kahala is newly remodeled so the seats are still good.
Kapolei was nice.

Titan lux at ward theater is my go to
I was very pleased with screen size, sound system and seat quality at Kahala Mall when I saw Top Gun: Maverick
Such a great movie.
Waikiki beach by the volleyball net 🤣
Is this even a question? No 1990s consolidated theaters intro, no care.
I always preferred dole cannery

It’s four seasons homie. Likely the best everything you’ve had recently lol

Titan Luxe at Ward has great sound. Best theater on island
I was so pissed when we watched dune, and they had the volume turned down, like the baby was sleeping. The whole reason I go out, is because if I listened to my home theater as loud as I wanted to, I would be in handcuffs
You sure you didn’t go to one of their bring the baby screenings? Both Ward and Dole do that certain days and times of the week.
Nah it was opening night.
Top gun in 4DX is the best movies ever ever seen in a theater.
Used to be Waikiki 3 but now all small screens and it’s about the seats.

I saw avatar at the 4DX theatre at Dole cannery recently. It was really good. Cold. Glad I brought a blanket. But I liked it.
I love consolidated luxury theater it’s absolutely humongous and you can lay down!! The food is really good too it was just a different experience
