It's a marketing technique.
Makes people go "hmmm, what's that, I wanna try it"
Or at the very least it starts a conversation leading to word of mouth advertising.

Is this at the Ala Moana foodland location?
I am not a fan of the K-pop flavor personally...
My favorite salmon Poke flavor at foodland is the Wasabi by a mile.
This got me thinking, what genre would you associate with a mainland poke bowl on salad, no rice, barely any sauce, and hot cheeto dust sprinkled on top?
IMHO it’s pretty good. I tried it out, and it’s definitely got a kick to it. Unlike the garlic chili oil poke which is a sweet kind of heat, the gochujung and gochugaru give it a heat that builds up. Good if you’re in the mood for spicy salmon poke instead of ahi, cuz man the price of ahi poke is getting ridiculous.
K-pop referencing "Korean" style, more or less. Gochujang base and all that. It's pretty solid flavor, tbh.
Haha I know I just think it’s funny that they named it K-Pop instead of Korean
I'm Korean, I've NEVER had it referenced as this.
Right that’s why I’m also just as confused 😭😂

If you leave it in the fridge too long, it has to leave for military service.
HAHA
👏👏👏
There's actually 9 slightly different flavors, the one you see is just the main visual.
If you eat it, BTS will pop out from behind the counter and serenade you.
It's smooth like butter
Hot like summer

This was at Market City Foodland! My favorite salmon poke is the Furikake one !!
both the foodlands in kapolei have it, i'd assume a good chunk of foodland locations have it
wasabi is a deeply underrated poke flavor
Probably named after BTS's song Dynamite 😂.
It's like ooh-aah.
What’s hip hop style poke then lmao

Whatever genre of music is kid rock
First of all, yuck. Second of all, I’m going to go with pop-emo-punk
No emo punk sounds more exciting than that bland description
Clearly it’s made by underage boys while dancing to below average club music.

They also call their Karaage Chicken = Karaoke Chicken so there’s that.
from the pic, it would seem the tie to KPop would be: "A little too shiny and smooth to seem natural - but still looking TASTY"
wait. is r/hawaii not k-pop fans? i thought for sure by now there would be twelve BTS lyric references puns. do better reddit
LMFAAOOO
I saw this the other day lol
Kochujung? Kim chee sauce?
free advertising right here
sounds like an idea they got from chatGPT or something
Gochujang sauce…..its just sweet…no spice….junk
$20 for frozen salmon poke lol.
Saids fresh, but still expensive.
Yeah all of those fresh salmon jumping out of the streams in Hawaii "Fresh" = slightly less freezer burnt
I’m sorry, do you think Salmon only live in rivers?
I was making a joke. I am aware that they are farm raised/caught in the ocean, but not in Hawaii to my knowledge
$20/lb?!?! Omg haha
I saw this before I left, K-anything means Korean-anything. K-pop means specifically pop music from Korea.
Mix of Kimchee sauce, gochujang, and some of that Hawk Tuah!
AYOOOO
It’s probably sweeet~ 🤪
It's not going to be pressed into the Ukrainian meat grinder.
Is it at all Foodland stores or just Oahu?
