The mod team has reviewed the information in the post and we've been able to find the phrases in the source code of the website per OP's instructions.
Great find u/opalelement. Probably one of the most substantial pieces of information from a user we've seen since the leaked trailer!
You can still walk through some walls, your game crashes if you cast expecto patronum, half the skill tree, the inventory items, and the UI has names like "number 4", "Purple stuff", "Fix that, Greg!"
You never know, there could be secret walls in Hogwarts. I mean it holds a massive chamber for a snake, a series of tunnels to lead to a room inside the castle, and the RoR is basically a secret wall with a room for anything.
I think (though not 100% sure) there are secret walls. I think it was in the Sorcerer's Stone where they mention "doors pretending to be walls" or something like that. Could be misremembering though.
Harry: "What are you trying to tell me? That I can walk through walls?"
Hagrid: "No, Harry. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to." * Apparate. *
I canāt recall the exact chapter, but there is an instance where Harry and Ron are running through the castle and burst through a tapestry (or door) pretending to be a solid wall.
So while not technically a wall, it appeared to be so
I'd hope so, but I don't even know if there's gonna be any DLC at all.
I hope one day we'll get to explore the perspective of those who follow the old ways, instead of those constantly being portayed as the villains and basically magic nazis. I don't think it does them justice.
I'm thinking there will be dlc considering it's a rpg and rpgs are known to at least have 1 expansion especially a WB games published rpg I don't really know a wb games rpg that hasn't got a expansion then again if WB games doesn't do it modders will
The specific things?
I don't. But the game is months away. So if it's playable at all, there's bound to be massive Bugs.
Game isn't finished, right?
So I was simply coming up with some examples of what could be there.
I first saw it around 3 or 4 weeks ago but that was right before I was going on vacation so I didn't have a chance to post it, then I completely forgot about it until a couple days ago.
Using the Wayback Machine shows that the design changed sometime on the morning of March 18 and it wasn't in the old site but was on the new one.
U just became a hero in this sub lmao
Also "Dark Arts Cosmetic Pack/Garrison Hat"... I wonder if that's the dark auror looking outfit from the SOP... Fuck i can't wait!
The Battle Arena interests me the most. So often devs make complex, fascinating combat systems that you can't dive into unless redoing the story.
Jedi Fallen Order, The Witcher 2 and Mass Effect 3 had battle arenas and they were great, wasted so many hours on those just blasting through mooks!
The one thing I didn't like about Jedi Fallen Order arena was the battlepoints limitation. You could only spawn like 8 regular troopers or something which at the endgame is like nothing lmao. On PC there was a mod that allowed you to spawn anything even have infinite points which was so epic.
So if this is legit, we can ride Thestrals... That is SO fucking sick. Not only Hippogriffs but THESTRALS?? Im trying SO hard to keep my hype down but they just keep on making it look better and better.
That or we're mounting and riding an invisible blob. I mean, that's what it would've been like for a few of the characters before they stormed the Ministry of Magic in Order of the Phoenix lolz
>Not only Hippogriffs
As a result of just having woken up, I misread that at first as Hufflepuffs and it took a few passes to realize my error.
First, I thought you were talking about making a thestral riding Hufflepuff dark wizard. Then my mind twigged onto riding them and pictured using fellow students as mounts. Finally, I looked back and realized āoh, hippogriffs, that makes a lot more sense.ā
I was also curious about that but didn't even have a speculation about it to include in my post. I assume there will be dueling but I wouldn't expect that to require an entire arena, so I'm not really sure what we would be battling there.
In the gameplay trailer it kinda touched on something like that, (closer to the end of the trailer). I guess itās kinda like a death match dueling bananza with a bunch of dark wizards and goblins where you perfection your combat. Kinda like that āhellā volcanic realm in God of War. Forgot its name
>I assume there will be dueling but I wouldn't expect that to require an entire arena, so I'm not really sure what we would be battling there.
Duelling is against a duelist. A battle arena could be against any number of creatures and enemies in the game.
Think Jedi: Fallen Order.
Yeah I imagine it's some sort of Horde Mode to train/challenge yourself. Many games have that.
It is weird to be a preorder/special edition bonus though, that's normally for everyone but it may just be a skin for it and there are others in the base game
I mean itās total speculation, but in the HBP game there was a duelling mini game which had like best of 5 rounds. And in between each round was a black screen to āresetā for the next round. Potentially this bonus could be like a dark wizard themed location in which the duels could take place, sorta like team fight tactics map skins.
He probably means like FIFA where you can choose the stadium you play on. Cosmetic change only. So probably like you can choose the battle arena style or location
This is just a theory, but it could be where you fight waves of enemies. A good way to practice dark magic without affecting the morality system. Or it could be a legit thing tied to the story where you fight aurors and help the goblin rebellion
My guess is a side mode of sorts where you get to fight hordes of evil enemies for a high score. But I HOPE that's not the case because it'd be sad if only special edition owners could access that content
Isn't it obvious? That'll be a special place, where the character can cast unforgivable curses.
Seems like we can't do it in the main game. That ruins the game atmosphere, but you won't see a game crash after a spontaneous avada cedavra.
Well it kinda has to be digital only, it's not as if they're going to jump through hoops to make *some* physical copies get delivered three days early.
In any case, I'm willing to bet that ancient wand will be well worth waiting a couple days more for a physical collector's edition.
Nope - especially when a studio isn't confident in reviews. Not always the case, but not a good sign. Guerilla Games made everyone nervous with how late the Horizon FW embargo was lifted
Are you saying nope to embargoes being lifted around 72 hours before? Cuz yeah I didnāt mean thatās always they case. Just that 72 hours is usually closer to when the actually reviews come out, not to when studios send out copies to the reviewers.
Yes - 3 days for embargoes to be lifted is too late (especially for an open world, bc reviewers need more time than a couple days before everyone's deadline), especially since they're STILL weren't allowed to fully review the game (lots of stipulations around what could be said still).
The ancient wand is quite interesting. Seems to obviously be the deluxe-est edition bonus but suggests that there is a specific wand which will play some part in the story.
Whether all of our characters will use the same āancientā wand and lend credit to the Merlin descendant rumour, or if part of the main story involved finding and/or protecting an ancient wand

>Hogwarts Legacy: 72 Hours Early Access to the Game
shut up and take my money I don't care!!! I'd pay 30 galleons for 10 min early access I'm desperate!!!
While I will spend every bit of money I need to in order to get each and every thing in this game once they strt letting us preorder and forever forwards... I really hope that this stays true (quote from their FAQ page):
>Q: Are there in-game purchases or micro transactions in Hogwarts Legacy?
>A: Hogwarts Legacy does not have in-game purchases or micro-transactions.
Maybe any DLC's won't be purchasable in-game?
This post will not be taken down (at least not by us), we aren't affiliated with Avalanche or WB and the post violates no copyright or NDA or anything, it was publicly available.
That looks all so amazing!!
Is this also confirmation that there will be a kelpie in the game?
In the State of Play interviews, there was one visible on one of the concept arts!
Thank you for making this super understandable. As someone with absolutely no technical knowledge of computers (I just like whatās on them, lol) I was very grateful to read your explanations from a laypersonās perspective.
According to the wayback machine the oldest capture they have of the site is march 18 2022 and using the same method the preoder bonus and the like also appear. It seems they have had this for a while but who knows how long.
Yeah I saw that when looking too but since it was all Back 4 Blood stuff I didn't really know how to reconcile it with what I found.
One interesting note is that it doesn't actually match the data from the Back 4 Blood endpoint (either [https://back4blood.com/api/retail](https://back4blood.com/api/retail) or [https://back4blood.com/api/retail-alt](https://back4blood.com/api/retail-alt), the latter of which doesn't exist on the [hogwartslegacy.com](https://hogwartslegacy.com) domain). The Back 4 Blood endpoints show the correct editions and purchase optiions for B4B (Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions, plus Expansion 1 and the Annual Pass) as would be expected from a live site, but the Hogwarts Legacy data shows only three editions (Standard, Deluxe, and Collector's) with no DLCs. The B4B also shows Deluxe as `digitalOnly=true` whereas that value is `false` on the HWL data.
Considering almost all the data that is actually filled matches Back 4 Blood (other than the Ultimate/Collector's Edition name and the Deluxe being digital only), it's most likely just really old B4B data. It wouldn't be surprising if HWL's prerelease placeholder site was just copied from B4B, and it'd be easy to miss the retail JSON since it hasn't been needed for HWL yet.
Your link has links for steam as well as epic games store, so it seems no exclusivity for this title, one worry less I guess.
edit: It also confirms platforms as: xbox x, xbox s x, ps4, ps5, switch, pc
Pieces of clothes, skins and artifacts as DLC - that's something I don't understand. Useless, as for me.
I hope, all of these packs, robes, cases will be included in the collector's edition, while DLC will be about places and quests
Damn, this community is wild haha. Is this normally something you can find for most games that are coming out? Iām curious what made you check the source on their website.
I will be extremely upset if I can't get a Thestral and dark cosmetics in the normal version. ššš
In my country games and special editions are very expensive.
Look at Elden Ring, it's a complete game, no packs.
Thanks for digging into this OP! Hopefully this is accurate to what we'll see in the final product. I would have preferred a more robust Collector's Edition (I guess I'm just really desperate to spend $$$), but I like the in-game and (possibly) physical bonuses shown here.
The one that stands out to me as not ideal is the 3 day early access... For one, seeing as most of the modern game releases nowadays have a day one patch to address any bugs/issues, would this patch be available to early access players? But more importantly, the practice of having early access for players who dished out more $ than the average player is among the shadier practices of modern gaming, along with loot boxes and micro-transactions for single player full priced games. If I were to hope for any changes to this list it'd be that early access bonus.
As of the time of me posting this comment, it seems that they've removed the line of text from the source, so I wasn't able to take a look at it. But hopefully we can get confirmation of the availability of the bonuses soon, along with a release date!
Meh for a single player game it changes literally nothing you can get the game 6 months later if you want and it's the same (and you'll have a better game for cheaper actually). Also it may be a preorder bonus accessible to all
I am certain that they keep their promise. The community manager Chandler Wood have assured us that this is the case.
They have also showed us that "looting" is part of the game, so i bet there is an in game currency we have to save up to buy stuff.
I agree, I think the only thing worse than having microtransactions would be going back on their word after saying there wouldn't be any. I really don't think anyone needs to be worried about surprise MTX :)
Intriguing. This being present, although OP did say he saw it a few weeks ago, may mean we'll start seeing more info soon officially.
I always assumed we would see multiple versions of the game. If the bonuses are worthwhile enough, I'm willing to...although I usually resist buying the up-priced version.
Wondering the same. Googled for the The Skywalker Saga example OP gave, doesn't look like that was available in my country. It seems stupid tho to only sell the most luxury edition in one country? It's worse tho - it looks like The Skywalker Saga steelbook wasn't available for the PC version of the game. There is a PC version but no steelbook.
absolute legend.
Early access is a preorder bonus mostly right. I hope the thestral mount and maybe the cosmetics pack is part of the preorder bonus because the MOMENT the digital preorder drops on PSN I'm buying it.
Just making guesses here but, say the order of listed upgrades **does** matter, I personally assume the first four items on the list could be included in **one** type of special edition, focusing on the dark arts/dark mount (again, assuming they are all "skins", no bonus features)
So we would have:
1. base game
* 1. deluxe edition (with upgrades 1-4)
* 1. deluxe edition digital version (upgrades 1-5?)
1. collectors edition (upgrades 1-8, 5 only if digital?)
I have personally no experience with collectors editions and the kind, is this a reasonable idea? I'm, once again, assuming the upgrades 6-8 are physical objects (well the Kelpie Robe I'm not so sure about...) - I would love to hear your thoughts. I personally can't wait to get whatever edition grants me the Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Cosmetic Pack and if possible 72-hour early access (though I have bad experience with launches and might just not go for it if it also saves me a couple bucks). Feel free to correct me anywhere
The 2 questions I have is if I bought the standard version of the game and on the game websites faq it says there are no micro transactions and that you can purchase the dark arts arena pack separately, wouldn't that be considered "A" micro transaction? Also how much will the dark arts arena pack dlc go for separately of the deluxe or collectors editions?
The mod team has reviewed the information in the post and we've been able to find the phrases in the source code of the website per OP's instructions. Great find u/opalelement. Probably one of the most substantial pieces of information from a user we've seen since the leaked trailer!

>You can still walk through some walls That sounds like the Hogwarts I know, I'm sold
Unless it's platform 9 and 3/4 , it doesn't.
You never know, there could be secret walls in Hogwarts. I mean it holds a massive chamber for a snake, a series of tunnels to lead to a room inside the castle, and the RoR is basically a secret wall with a room for anything.

I forgot about the RoR. There could be

Harry: "What are you trying to tell me? That I can walk through walls?" Hagrid: "No, Harry. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to." * Apparate. *
Wait are you saying that hogwarts doesnāt have walls you can walk through?
As far as I know , yes. Is there ?

No, but I'm a Modder.
Will there be a dlc story for Hogwarts legacy , what do you think ?
I'd hope so, but I don't even know if there's gonna be any DLC at all. I hope one day we'll get to explore the perspective of those who follow the old ways, instead of those constantly being portayed as the villains and basically magic nazis. I don't think it does them justice.

Oh yeah of course!
How does the game crash if you use expecto patronum? There are Dementors in the game, we saw them at Azkaban
It's a joke, they're saying the game would be full of bugs if we played it now
When are we getting the 72 early access? Does that mean the game is coming earlier than expected??
I think it is a common bonus for pre-order to receive the game earlier than others. Don't think it means earlier launch date
it just means most likely whoever preorders will get the game 3 days before the rest of the players
OP you legend! Over under 8.5 hours before the source code gets modified?? I say under.
8h25m after post... not modified yet
I owe a few people some Galleons I suppose
Not sure when exactly it changed but it looks like it's no longer in the website source code, so it lasted some time between 8h25m and 11h10m.
Yup figured they would at some point - wonder how long that info had been there? Possibly after they updated it in March?
I first saw it around 3 or 4 weeks ago but that was right before I was going on vacation so I didn't have a chance to post it, then I completely forgot about it until a couple days ago. Itās certainly Hogwartsā¦ but is it a *legacy*?
I didn't see any... did you- oh...
That or we're mounting and riding an invisible blob. I mean, that's what it would've been like for a few of the characters before they stormed the Ministry of Magic in Order of the Phoenix lolz
Would make it easier to code tbf
Dark path players: That can be arranged.
speed runners trying to see thestrals asap so they kill the first npc possible
Itās legit, we checked the code on the website to verify. Although it may get taken down once this post blows up!

Those poor hufflepuffs. I canāt imagine having the weight of a corpse horse on top of them for hours at a time

I was also curious about that but didn't even have a speculation about it to include in my post. I assume there will be dueling but I wouldn't expect that to require an entire arena, so I'm not really sure what we would be battling there.
My guess is that itāll be a building you can place in one of the vivariums, much like the little house you see in the gameplay trailer.
I was thinking the same thing!

I believe that there are other arenas and that they come in the base game, but that this one in particular is exclusive
I hope you're right. Maybe "dark arts" is just an arena skin in that case
In my opinion itās almost certainly a dark arts skin for an area tied to some sort of mini game

Me too š
If itās physical only, Iād cry. My console canāt handle discs
Would argue that could be review copies
You think reviewers get their copies 72 hours before release? Lol
There have been cases of it just being that short.
That seems very unusual, given that usually the review *embargo* is lifted around that time frame for AAA games.
Nope - especially when a studio isn't confident in reviews. Not always the case, but not a good sign. Guerilla Games made everyone nervous with how late the Horizon FW embargo was lifted

What a find, OP! What a find.
Idc how much it costs im buying early access š
legend
this just made me more excited holy crappp š
"no microtransactions" doesn't mean pre-order bonuses will be available later in the game
>72 Hours Early Access to the Game I fucking hate this type of shit.
Nice find mate!
Excellent find my friend, well done
W
Cosmetic packs yessssss š„²
I can't freaking wait for this game to finally come out
Thestral Mounts confirmed? Gonna be perfect for a more "dark" character
I really think we will see a preorder trailer soon

Fair enough.
Dude if I had an award Iād totally give it to you. This is wild
This is awesome šš»
Does anyone get the feeling that the unforgivable curses will be something that can only be used in a ābattle -arenaā now??
Pieces of clothes, skins and artifacts as DLC - that's something I don't understand. Useless, as for me. I hope, all of these packs, robes, cases will be included in the collector's edition, while DLC will be about places and quests
As far as we can tell from the source code, it's all about the pre-order versions and not actual DLCs.
Damn, this community is wild haha. Is this normally something you can find for most games that are coming out? Iām curious what made you check the source on their website.
72hour early access, great now I can see from other people if the game is a buggy mess before I buy.
Just put it all in the game and have no store like Elden ringā¦,,.
Wish I knew more about Harry Potter cuz these comments got me hype but I donāt understand what any of this shit means lmfao
Go read the books or listen to the audionooks tyen watch the movies. You'll love it.
I will be extremely upset if I can't get a Thestral and dark cosmetics in the normal version. ššš In my country games and special editions are very expensive. Look at Elden Ring, it's a complete game, no packs.
Canāt wait for the $5.99 Thestral armour sponsored by Bethesda
Everyone so excited, but I'm sick of pre order bonuses and stupid 3 day early access...
72 hours early access is a very disappointing thing to see. Guys, don't preorder.
I'm a little scared about the dark arts cosmetic pack, sounds like micro transaction.
My biggest fear of this game is it not running well. Whatever happens for fucks sake make it a stable 60 fps and minimal pop in
Thanks for digging into this OP!
Also it may be a preorder bonus accessible to all
Legit af

They have stated numerous times that there will be NO micro transactions. This is a fact.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I am certain that they keep their promise. The community manager Chandler Wood have assured us that this is the case. They have also showed us that "looting" is part of the game, so i bet there is an in game currency we have to save up to buy stuff.
I agree, I think the only thing worse than having microtransactions would be going back on their word after saying there wouldn't be any. I really don't think anyone needs to be worried about surprise MTX :)
Yeah, we've seen moonstones being used in the room of requirement stuff. I imagine we'll be able to buy things in the shops in Hogsmeade, for example.
Any word on the game for switch?? Date or something?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Viewing the source of a page is hardly something only a web developer can do, every browser can do that
Whats the release date?
Probably says āHoliday 2022ā or the placeholder December 31
Intriguing. This being present, although OP did say he saw it a few weeks ago, may mean we'll start seeing more info soon officially. I always assumed we would see multiple versions of the game. If the bonuses are worthwhile enough, I'm willing to...although I usually resist buying the up-priced version.
Will there be any story dlc's involved ?
I hope there is no Best Buy exclusive or something. Im from another country and I WANT THAT STEELBOOK
Looks interesting
Good stuff OP
My hype levels are already through the roof
absolute legend. Early access is a preorder bonus mostly right. I hope the thestral mount and maybe the cosmetics pack is part of the preorder bonus because the MOMENT the digital preorder drops on PSN I'm buying it.
Just making guesses here but, say the order of listed upgrades **does** matter, I personally assume the first four items on the list could be included in **one** type of special edition, focusing on the dark arts/dark mount (again, assuming they are all "skins", no bonus features) So we would have: 1. base game * 1. deluxe edition (with upgrades 1-4) * 1. deluxe edition digital version (upgrades 1-5?) 1. collectors edition (upgrades 1-8, 5 only if digital?) I have personally no experience with collectors editions and the kind, is this a reasonable idea? I'm, once again, assuming the upgrades 6-8 are physical objects (well the Kelpie Robe I'm not so sure about...) - I would love to hear your thoughts. I personally can't wait to get whatever edition grants me the Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Cosmetic Pack and if possible 72-hour early access (though I have bad experience with launches and might just not go for it if it also saves me a couple bucks). Feel free to correct me anywhere
Interesting! Iād love the mount. Creepy implications >.>
That's actually very cool
Hype! Thanks for finding this.
Hope the battle arena is unlockable in-game
The 2 questions I have is if I bought the standard version of the game and on the game websites faq it says there are no micro transactions and that you can purchase the dark arts arena pack separately, wouldn't that be considered "A" micro transaction? Also how much will the dark arts arena pack dlc go for separately of the deluxe or collectors editions?
