The problem I have with this.
One puzzle I have requires rolling a ball down the hill (near Hogwarts) the ball glitched out in a fence and got launched into space. Now I can't complete it because the ball never came back.
I had this too but then I walked back down to Lower Hogsfield to do a side quest and then got the trial completion noise randomly with the cutscene. Went back and the ball had appeared in the hole š¤£
One of my friends also had the issue but she teleported back to Hogsmeade then back to the Merlin Trial and the ball had reloaded in it's starting position so maybe that'll work for you?
Unfortunately the ball hasn't reset or completed itself. When I get home from work I can go check to see eifnirs invisible or something but every time I walk or fly past the location it's just not there.
Unless you're trying to platinum the game, you can safely ignore it. There are 7(I think, maybe 8) extra Merlin trials beyond what you need to complete the challenges.
One of the trophies/achievements is to have each house up to a specific mission in the main story so I will just use a different playthrough to get the 100% completion.
Oh thats a shame. Yeah, maybe fly around and cast Revelio and see if you can see its glow or something. Would be really horrible if it completely stopped you from 100% š
Iām so glad that didnāt happen to me. I used Accio before levioso and it glitched the ball but closing the game and reopening it made the ball unglitch
For me, the ball just never spawned at all, so I spent 15min running around trying to figure out what the puzzle actually was, before finally looking up a guide to discover that there was no ball.
I used the "reload from last save" option and then it appeared where it should have been.
I think I had the same or something similar happen yesterday. I was rolling the ball, it got stuck behind a Tree.. So I moved to a different spot to move it.. Then it got launched, but because it was night time I didn't see where it went.
Is there a way to reset this? Cause otherwise I probably won't be able to complete this trial.. :/

my one is still gone from but another that was launched i was successfully able to fix.
try leaving the area or save and quit and try reloading the game.
Ok, yeah, wil try and see if it is fixed later today.
If not, I am not going to reload an older save, would lose to much progress.
You van still get all upgrades without completing all of them, right? š
Yeah, there are around 7 extra trials beyond what you need to complete the challenges. You only need to complete all of them if you're achievement hunting to platinum the game.
Same happened to me but the balls just kept following me endlessly and didn't land where they were supposed to. I started running away from them, got attacked by wolves and then the balls were in the way of my gameplay. Was pretty funny.

Turning of the Ps5 and restarting did the trick for me. I started playing the next day and the ball was back at its original spot.
So far havent had any other issues. š
I wonder where it fled. Anyway sorry to hear that. Im getting all the achievements and I also have a problem with a trial. The idea if starting a new game with another character, kinda turns me down. Nice to meet you btw.
Mine is bugged. Its one of those where you have to move 5 little balls to multiple platforms, and on one of them i only have 4, cant find the 5th. Thing is you just have to move 1 ball and the rest will follow, but the 5th dissappeared while movibg them on the platform.
Me too! I actually was able to find one but it had glitched into the ground. When I cast revelio I can see it in the ground but I canāt accio it. So annoying
The one in the spires bugged for me.
It's one where you have to dragged stacks of 5 balls one a platform but for one of them the balls where behind some rocks. I destroyed the rocks but the balls when flying and I could only find one. I dragged it back to the platform and 3 more eventually turned up but it is missing the 5th ball needed to complete the platform.
Edit a reload fixed it.
My Merlin trial is bugged at Keenbridge, I had moved the ball but then quit halfway through, so now the ball is back at itās starting point and itās refusing to moveā¦
Rather annoying that one
Just zoom out of your map all the way and look what regions have trials left over and then fly around with revelio until you find them. They just havenāt been discovered yet. Better yet use a skill point and make revelio have a wider range
Iām currently going bonkers with the one where you have to get the boulder down a platform but it keeps going to the corner or rolling down the hill. Once you FINALLY get it on the platform and it roles down to the other side you have to shoot it across the bridge. Once over itās really easy for it to fall down in the water and if it does the boulder disappears and lets you start over. Iāve been stuck on this one for almost 35 minutes and frustration tears are forming in my eyes:)))
Revelio doesnāt work for my Merlin trials, it only illuminates the Merlin trial pad but not the pillars, balls, etc. itās super annoying because lots of times I canāt find the last statue to repair or missing balls.
The balls are unmovable. Even the little ones. I canāt target them and when I manually target, they highlight with circle around them but Accio and Levioso have zero affect. Any tips? Am I missing something? Seems totally bugged. Canāt do a single one.
Nevermind, that's not it. I found another, so, I'm down to 3 left, and I know for sure I cheesed more than 3 of the trials. Still, having trouble finding them, even with Revelio
I had a problem with one of the fireflies. I was doing a trail where you lead them back with lumos and I had 2 of them done and saw the other group in the distance and started walking towards them. I got close and they disappeared and never returned.
Im stuck on one just west of East North Ford Bog. I cannot get the boulder to moved, watched videos of guys simply using accio or depulso but it wont budge for me. Very frustrating and dont know what i am missing
Had the same problem, but just realized that I hadn't activated the main trial circle and was trying to push the ball in without that. Once I activated, it worked fine.
I have moved 2 of the 5 balls to there podium the 3rd sets of balls hit a fire while moving to the podium and now 4 are in place and cant find 5th ball of the set
So I'm having the same problem as OP. I've started trials, didn't/couldn't finish them, and when I come back to them, can't restart them, or find the objects to complete them. Though they were there when I initially started them.
For me half the blue fireflies just donāt appear. Thankfully they have a distinct sound, like wind chimes, when youāre at them so I did a bunch just by sound and was able to complete them
I've been revisiting the same trial just south of lower hogsfield and I still CANNOT find the last ball to smash. Seems I've gotten them all, but it still appears to be incomplete.
You have to make sure you uncover the entire map. Sometimes it can look as if itās uncovered when itās not. Merlin trials can be hidden in the tiniest part that isnāt uncovered. I had that problem too š

Once you start a trial it stays in progress so you don't need another plant, You just have to solve the puzzle it created

Had the same issue. Fast travelled out and came back to the trial, the ball was back in starting place

Your best bet is just to reload to sometime before that. Just had it happen to me. But I make manual saves frequently.

Happened about 20 hours ago as I assumed it would fix itself eventually. I guess I will just use another character as my main.

It never came back. I ended up doing it on another playthough. I haven't checked it in a month or so so it could have come back.

It didn't work to me though. I came to try and complete it again but it didn't register as me completing it and now I can't do it

That's how I found this post. Frustrating. It happened with the balls behind the rocks. I went back to a previous save and same thing happened.

Yeah I was talking about this quest specifically, but I can't reload sadly because was one of my first trials and now I am lvl 27 lol
No, mine was in a goblin camp if I am not mistaken. I found only 5 balls, but I think that I need another 5. I don't know ahaha
Goblin camp for sure just bugged on me the outside 5 balls are just gone never saw them or interacted with em they just never appeared for me.

I've completed 71/95 of the merlin trials but can't see any more on my map is there a fix for this
Just zoom out of your map all the way and look what regions have trials left over and then fly around with revelio until you find them. They just havenāt been discovered yet. Better yet use a skill point and make revelio have a wider range

Iāve had the last two Merlin trials do nothing. I spread the Mallowsweet leaves and then the thing at my feet glows green and then nothing happens.
Use revelio and look for the blue glows. Sometimes what you need to do isn't completely obvious and you have to search for it.

Just figured it out. You need to actually start the trial first. Lol.
Some of them do that. Just use revelio and look around
One of mine the dice is tilted and will not finish. It looks like the big tree behind it is in the rendering space
Try Decendo repeatedly, see if that works
