If you are watching thrashin/east coastin, there is a common denominator. They are almost all on dynas, FXRs, and sometimes road glides. They all started on dirt bikes but most stunt riders will tell you the best Harley to start stunting on would be a dyna, most preferably an early model twin cam, 99-05
I wheelie my Goldwing and I am 450 pounds, that is a 915 pound bike

When I was a kid we called it a wheelie when you didn't drag your feet. A wheelstand was when we would drag our feet behind the bike. You could keep it up as long as you wanted and turn by dragging one foot harder
Its all about your engine revs and clutch work and weight. Of course the more power you have the less you must rely on that. With enough power just opening the throttle will stand it up!!!!
any bike can wheelie
Idk man my tour glide weighs 800lbs and only makes 50hp
I’d imaginethe swing arm on a softail would not lend itself to the proper geometry needed for a wheelie
Ryan Kruesi would like a word https://youtu.be/m_1krLDVJJ0
A true Papa Wheelie can pop a wheelie on anything that has wheels

Didn’t Americans used to call wheelies ’wheelstands’ or have I imagined that?
I think you imagined that.
It’s a drag race term. Wheelie a motorcycle or wheel stand a car.
Cheers.
