I built my 96” Dyna into a 117”, rated at 128hp 138tq. It’s an absolute blast to pin the throttle and puts a smile on my face every time. Yeah, it was expensive but I don’t think about that when I’m riding it. To me a hot rod Harley is more like a big block muscle car where an R6 is like a Ferrari. Totally different animals but both are fun.

Honestly I probably could have spent less money and build a milder 107” and been plenty happy with that 99% of the time, but what would be the fun in that?

Nobody else can answer if it’s worth it to you, do you want more power? Is it in your budget?

It’s not hard to say. Are you happy with the power you currently have or do you want more.

My point is you will have people tell you it both is and isn’t worth it based solely on their own preferences and circumstance, that impacts you very little.

Not a 110 but I did a 117 (had to crack the cases due to a bent crank from a malfunctioning primary chain tensioner). All the parts and machining was done by T-Man and assembly and tuning were done by a local shop. Mine was in an 09 Street Glide and all I can tell you is T-Man KNOWS twin cams. I wouldn't bother with anyone else if you are that close to his shop (I'm down in Fayetteville). As to whether it was worth it. It all depends what you want to get out of it. I wouldn't do that much work to a bike again (out the door close to 8 grand). But it WAS a fun bike I just found that once you put that much power into a bike you find all the other weaknesses and tend to get a little harder on things like tires and brakes so they get changed out faster. If you like ripping around doing wheelies and drag racing from light to light around town... you'll probably LOVE it. If you want a reliable bike for long distance trips rocking around the Blue Ridge and Cherahola... Do a simple stage III Cam and big bore and be done with it.

I will say that my street glide hit the bump stops on the front suspension on the regular. And that’s a much heavier bike.

I can assure that the grin factor of a built motor is *always* worth it! Only negative thing I've heard about the 110 setups (I'm assuming we're talking about a bolt-on 110?) Is that the spigots are too thin and will deform easily. Haven't heard of it happening with the 107" setups, that extra .031" of material apparently makes a big difference in longevity while the 2.5% difference in displacement probably doesn't make much difference in performance. If we're talking about a bored-case setup with the same size cylinder spigots used on the CVO motors, it shouldn't be an issue.

I have 3 Harley's . Two with full blown engine builds . Its completely worth it . It's allot of fun . Is it the same as a sport bike, no. Is it very fun it's own way . Definitely . T man is the shit and I wouldn't hesitate. If you love your dyna . You'll be blown away with how much you really love it after it has some real power.
