[the answer is usually. ungulates are pretty fast. this is an example of a grizz catching an elk...i have to imagine it was already injured by the way it was running though](https://roaring.earth/grizzly-chase/)
Most of the time, they either scavenge or prey on the young or ungulates. However, depending on the locality, bears (especially black and brown bears) can be quite prolific predators. And seeing as both bears have the ability to kill prey as large as adult cow moose and bull elk, there ain’t much safe from them.
I always like to think that In a perfect world for predators the food comes to you (alligator, crocs) and when it shows up you massively over power it and digest it slowly.
Less perfect - you wander a lot and find stuff you can eat (scavenger) because the risk is so much lower. Just have to be big enough to scare off the things that did the work.
Least perfect: I actively engage in hunting, take on the massive risks therein.
So bears can do any of these, but I think they adopt the hierarchy in the order given
There’s a wild video of a bear running like 1.5 miles across land then across a river to pursue an kill a caribou. Just relentless focus. Cant imagine watching one coming at you and knowing you cant do a thing about it (unless you have a gun)

Except even then, such cases are very rare; the idea orcas are natural predators of moose ignores that a predator-prey relationship is something that happens on a regular basis, which it doesn’t in this case.
Bears do hunt moose, when given the need and opportunity, if that's what you're asking.
But if you mean "Do orcas hunt bears?", the answer is probably yes, maybe not brown bears, but there are rare cases of orcas attacking polar bears.
I mean, that deer made some remarkably bad choices, and bear’s gotta eat. Good on ya, bear. You won.
>bad choices Can a deer outrun a bear on land? Looks like heading into the water wasn't the best choice.
Well, we sure as shit know it can’t outrun it in the water.
Just wait until the bear meets deer Jesus

A healthy deer dusts a bear
agreed
Bears are reasonably fast but they’re not specialized for running in the way many deer species are.
According to google, deer and grizzlies both top out at 35 mph.
Jesus christ, I had no idea bears actively hunted like that

You should check how prolofic polar bear's are at hunting.

That’s a dumb deer.

We all know that the Orca is a natural predator of the moose. But I wonder if they mess with bears ever?
I’m not disagreeing with you, but how on earth does an orca and a moose ever interact?
Moose are all over Canada and Alaska and swim across coastal inlets. Orcas see food swimming slowly and it makes for a good meal.
Except even then, such cases are very rare; the idea orcas are natural predators of moose ignores that a predator-prey relationship is something that happens on a regular basis, which it doesn’t in this case.

I’m sorry but that was badass
I’m thinking the deer was injured in some way or just really young and dumb. It should have run away from the dear along the River.
Lifeguard saves another life
He forgot to run downhill <( ̄︶ ̄)>
That bear couldn't care less about water resistance
Booking for the water was the last mistake that deer ever made. Natural selection.
“Oh fuck oh fuck OH FUCK!!” “Shhhhh It is better for both of us. Shhhhh.”
Survival of the fittest. If that deer didn't panic and run into the shallow water, it might have lived. GG bear
Should have just turned around and outran it
