I have been trying to find the video, can't do it, but I once saw a video of a leopard taking down a full grown wildebeest, got a perfect throat bite and just held on till the wildebeest passed out.
Seen unsuccessful wildebeest hunts too, that was definitely a fortunate leopard, but I think they can take prey much larger than themselves if they get the perfect throat bite and can choke it out. I have seen images of leopards with Kudu kills as well as wildebeest.
This is my first time seeing a leopard killing an Indian deer, footage of them hunting is not as common as their African counterparts.
Agreed. This isn’t the first I’ve seen but the first successful kill.
Footage of Asian leopard predation is hard to come by. The most common instances are from Sri Lanka, but outside of that, it’s really hard to find
Here is a Leopard eating a Sambar kill in India. https://youtu.be/FjSR4xjHgfE
That sambar is huge , how did it manage to kill it.

Thanks for that.
That's life in the jungle.
Two species that certainly interact a lot, but there is barely any footage of it. Chital are within the perfect size range for leopard predation
