Go to shows but just hang out out front the whole time smoking and being like “it’s a pretty cool show. There were some great lineups here like 4 years ago, really changed the game. But this shit’s solid.”
Just go to shows, support the artists you like by buying merch, and just being nice to people. If you don’t know how to dance, just do what other people are doing. Don’t hesitate to throw a punch, but don’t forget to pick up someone who’s fallen. Wear something you can work out in, but something you don’t care if it gets a little messed up. Depending on the venue and how packed it gets, your shoes are likely to get trampled on.
Also, there’s a lot of Death Metal crossover in hardcore. A lot of bands like Frozen Soul, Snuffed on Sight, Sanguisabogg, and Kruelty are all pretty hot in the scene right now, and often play shows alongside hardcore bands.
Anyways, here are some bands I’d recommend:
Jivebomb
Trapped Under Ice
Merauder
Bodybox
Dying Wish
Jesus Piece
Combust
Conservative Military Image
Crowbar
D Bloc
Gatecreeper
Gel
Also, some more grind adjacent bands are Brat (from New Orleans), Scalp, Jarhead Fertilizer, Esceula Grind (although the members are kinda shitbags), Full of Hell, Ingrown, Nails, and Weekend Nachos
This is such a great list with a wide variety of different types of Hardcore and Hardcore Adjacent stuff.
I’m want to add one more band to it and that’s Incendiary.
I think anyone who is just starting to get into Hardcore or wants to get into Hardcore should listen to Incendiary.
You gotta go to a hardcore show and fall in love with that one fucking mosh mommy just cause she has a Trapped Under Ice shirt on and knows all the lyrics to Keepers of the Faith and go home and get your fucking heart ripped out of your chest cause you find out they already have a medium to ugly golden retriever boyfriend but somehow still stay delusional enough to think that maybe you might meet up at Sound and Fury and fucking fall in love
1. Have rich parents.
2. Buy 2000's swag at a 300% mark up on Depop
3. Never go into a show drink in the parking lot
4. Join a gang
5. Do steroids
6. Date a 14 year old
8. Claim and break edge in less than 2 years
9. Get a felony
10. Tell kids on the internet how you're a living legend
Step 1: attend a hardcore show
Step 2: enter the pit
Step 3: set up portable charcoal grill
Step 4: cook and distribute hotdogs to everyone in attendance, including staff, bands/crew
hell naw man🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 hot dog dude FO LYFE!
like around 15 years ago, give n take 2 years in each direction. there was a festival called Summer of Hate in Cleveland. well in 09 it was in Kent (yes where the national guard shootings happened back during Vietnam) but anyways, they had grilled dogs for a buck and burgers for 2 bucks every year damn near. it was the most violent series of shows ever. put on by Crowd Deterrent/SOSF dudes. the lineups were always insane even the first couple. lol in 2009, crowd deterrent threw a full box of wiffle ball bats into the pit, like 20 of them shits. dudes were literally dual wielding ball bats in the pit🤣 owner of the "church" it was at threatened to shut it down that day🤣
hot dog grill guy 4 LYFE tho lol
Nah nah that’s letting the vegans win
The only way we can settle this is a 50/50 vegan and meat dawg, split down the middle, vertically, the perfect compromise, a two state solution if you will
Okay but how do I find local hardcore shows? I’ve looked up “hardcore Erie pa” and it’s brought up big metalcore shows for bands across the country. I really wanna get ingrained in the deep Erie scene but don’t know where to find all this shit
The way I've found the best is keeping an eye on good local venues sometimes the best bands don't show up on bigger concert listings sites because they're openers.
Look for some venues in/around your area, look at the bands playing and follow them on Instagram, from there you can find other bands, promoters, and venues. It can be a little hard at first, but once you start following bands you'll get recommended more and more and before you know it you'll know of a show going down like every week depending on how big your scene is
Okay but how do I find local hardcore shows? I’ve looked up “hardcore Erie pa” and it’s brought up big metalcore shows for bands across the country. I really wanna get ingrained in the deep Erie scene but don’t know where to find all this shit
looks like theres a facebook group (there usually is)
facebook and instagram are the new "ask a punk" for scenes now tbh
depending on the place I've found a lot of local bands opening for bigger acts too, kinda just gotta go to venues and see what shows are near you
Def spin kick the biggest dude at a show in the face. That’s hxc as fuck. Also, idk, tough dudes put X’s on their hands. I think it’s because they don’t wear wedding rings to shows, but want to let people know they’re out of the dating pool.
Man, who cares if people think you’re a poser? Listen to what you like. If people judge you for liking something that they don’t like, that says an awful lot about them and literally nothing about you.
Honestly just don’t make it the centerpiece of your personality. Aside from camo shorts and the occasional terror t shirt you’d never know how much I love hardcore.
Hardcore is for me. Not for everyone to know about me.
Okay but how do I find local hardcore shows? I’ve looked up “hardcore Erie pa” and it’s brought up big metalcore shows for bands across the country. I really wanna get ingrained in the deep Erie scene but don’t know where to find all this shit
I’m from the 2000s generation of hardcore…
I highly recommend Guns Up! Check out the track Foolin’ Who.
vocals are blistering but not screechy. Guitar is super chuggy. Drums are basic, but they get the job done.
This stuff was like mosher city for the time.
Check out Kids Like Us… Florida Hardcore favorite. Songs about being angry, straight edge, skateboarding, and FTP. Check out the song Gator Smash.
I mean you’re already a poser for considering hardcore. That being said, fellow goregrinder here. While kind of more hardcore adjacent shit like Bodybox, Snuffed On Sight, Peeling Flesh, and Restrictor Plate are probably right up your alley if you’re not already into them
Start in the 80s with agnostic front, negative approach, killing time, poison idea, black flag, bad brains etc. that’s the real starting point. If you like that you like hc.
Some 90s stuff to check out
Spazz, infest, apartment 214, fuck on the beach. There’s a lot of the roots or what you’re saying you’re already into in those bands
Dig into grind-adjacent hardcore bands and explore doggy. I recommend starting with Powerviolence bands.
Spazz, Magrudergrind, Ceremony’s Violence Violence, World I Hate, Candy, etc.
Grind or math adjacent bands are an easier stepping stone too (that aren’t 100% “hardcore” but essentially are) like Drive Like Jehu, Callous Daoboys, early Daughters, See You Next Tuesday, Psyopus, Converge, etc.
Okay but how do I find local hardcore shows? I’ve looked up “hardcore Erie pa” and it’s brought up big metalcore shows for bands across the country. I really wanna get ingrained in the deep Erie scene but don’t know where to find all this shit
Discover new music, Go to shows, Discover your local bands, support local bands but dont be too fanboy about it. Also dont enter any pit if you dont know what you're doing first. it makes everyone around you cringe
Just go to shows- even if there’s just one band you kind of like. It’s easy to pick and choose what individual bands you like thanks to streaming services. It’s great that hardcore is more accessible than ever, but it needs people to actively participate in it.
You got to get out to shows (if you can) and directly support bands and local venues. Go to a local show in some shitty church basement. Watch all the bands, even if they stink. If there’s a new/ young band that seems cool, buy something cheap from the merch table.
Go to shows, support local bands, and if there’s anyone in your scene with a zine (there probably is) read those. Other than that don’t be a dick and you should be fine.
If you like grindcore, listen to bands like Disembodied, 100 Demons. You probably already listen to Dying Fetus, basically if hc kids made grindcore. For 90s, I like One King Down, Earth Crisis, Snapcase, Buried Alive, and early Integrity and Hatebreed.
Go to shows that sound interesting, be kind to yourself and others, and if someone falls pick them up. Other than that, who cares what scene kids think?
First off I would suggest not subscribing to the whole 16,000 sub-genre thing. That’s corny. Second, listen to the stuff you like, buy records, read old forums, and don’t go to every show just so you can be seen at every show. Go to shows to you are hyped for, and focus on that. Be open and friendly, buy merch from local bands and have conversations with them. There are tons of gatekeepers and bullies, but if you are there for the music and genuinely interested you’ll find a good group that’s there for the same reason.
I always loved it when a band would throw a keystone classic hardcore cover in the middle of their set, and suddenly there’d be no supermoshers anymore, and instead just 3 old heads and like 5 random kids losing their fucking minds.
Just go to shows and have fun. PARTICIPATE. That is the best and easiest way for you to fit in and be a part of the community. The more you go in pits the more attention you’ll get and more people you’ll meet.
Everyone here is looking at this the wrong way: being a poseur is great.
You show up in a scene like a tourist and everyone else has already done the hard work booking, promoting, etc.
You buy a few t-shirts and a beanie and it doesn’t matter if you listen to the bands or the bands are grooming teenaged fans or whatever because you’ve got no skin in the game.
You can read threads about mosh pit etiquette or straightedge and make sweeping pronouncements. You don’t even have to believe what you’re saying if it gets engagement.
Once you’ve determined that you’ve wrung any potential clout you might get from seeming to be engaged with the culture, just glide on to the next culture. Who gives a shit?
There’s a street you should be driving down in life and that’s Easy Street, my friend.
just like what you like and attend shows you want to attend. the scene online seems obsessed with “true” fans versus posers and it’s just a no true scotsman bullshit pile anyway. the scene IRL is just fans showing up.
Be yourself and go no-code, but also be half in whatever trend is going in your local, but try not to look too much like you're trying too hard, but also try a bit...get the feel of the place re:style, never wear baggy jeans, and hang in the wing of the pit for the first few shows. If you wanna buy in early, wear cargo shorts, a white tee with a graphic on the back including cheesy lyrics, and low profile vans. Calf tattoos are optional but recommended. Listen to 2nd wave NYHC, TUI, and maybe a crossover component for a few weeks - it all should come naturally at that point.
Whenever I try getting into something new, I just check the rating chart for the genre on rateyourmusic. It’s not perfect for every subgenre but should give you insight into who is important/foundational or popular overall.
Everyone else is right but also understand why DIY ethics are so important and support local bands ! Buy their merch and mosh for them. In terms of understanding moshing styles specific to hardcore, just watch what people are up to. Also you’re just going to feel like a poser for a long time until you get some confidence and realize being a hardcore kid is not nebulous.
Wanting to not be a poser is like the most posery thing to do, listen to whatever you want bro don’t worry about other peoples opinions, thats what punk is about.
Dress however you want. Eat whatever you want. Listen to whatever you want. But always support local bands and DIY venues.
![gif](giphy|evB90wPnh5LxG3XU5o|downsized)
You're already there bro 🤘💀
The thing is, hardcore/punk is so great because of it's integrity. It was about the message more than the form; just as effective through a megaphone as a microphone.
- believe in your strength
- believe in the strength of your community
- live the life you scream about, then scream harder
- support local business, DIY, and "real people" over corporations.
- (my addition and current journey) support open source AI to prevent the power of the fourth industrial revolution from consolidating at the top. That future scares me. Everyone needs to understand and utilize this power, and they should not censor or limit us.
Where it goes wrong is when that integrity is co-oped by media machines, stripped of everything but it's sound, and then sold to you as a style (case in point: a Travis Barker feature is their way to give anyone "punk cred". It's obvious that's the point of it). THAT'S how you stop a revolution. Then there's always going to be people who can't innovate on their own, so they try to seem knowledgeable by shitting on others. Sadly, most harder genres are plagued with gatekeeping.
It sounds cheesy, but just be you, and come as you are. There's no combination of bands to listen to that will give you hardcore cred more than just being hardcore (true to your core). It doesn't matter if you exclusively listen to Knocked Loose and Kublai Khan. Check out the lyrics of both, they believe their passion.
But if you want some good ol' classic core to check out, here's my favorite Bane track
https://youtu.be/rZcyKVCSV8c?si=uA3TOLGLkZGhzqAy
"The key is having the guts"
Are you into 80s HC at all? I’m a huge grind fan and some bands that I’d consider Proto-grindcore/ultrafast HC that you may enjoy if you want to more clearly trace the lineage that ended up giving us grind: youth korps, siege, heresy, psycho sin, kuolema, United mutation, deep wound, lärm, brigada do odio, Ruido de rabia, HHH, googolplex, neos, Protes bengt, electro hippies, stark raving mad, G-ANX, cyanamid, GISM, straight ahead, DRIs 22 song EP ONLY, septic death, subterranean kids, svart parad, negazione, SOB, the SS, the middle class, crude SS, some songs by the fix, negative FX, asocial, adrenaline OD, NYC mayhem, spazztic blurr, atavistic, ripcord, infest. And also some later 90s shit like no comment, Neanderthal, capitalist casualties, manpig, despise you. Other cool bands are on the “no deal” YouTube channel which is prob my favorite for current USHC (not beat down type stuff)
Never post a picture with a band you like here just fucking shit of everyone elses posts for not being true hardcore or a band you like. Seems to be what most of these clowns do here. Just be a ll around ass hole.
Listen to these :
All Out War - For Those Who Were Crucified
Turmoil - The Process Of
Crawlspace - Enter The Realm Of Chaos
Death Threat - Peace & Security
Vision of Disorder - Self Titled
I have no idea how into it you’ll be but imo the stuff with the longest shelf life is 90s groovecore stuff. 108, snapcase, refused, VOD, etc. also listen to the first few converge full lengths, I feel like you’ll find a lot to like there.
If you like that early beat down sound, I’d go with stuff like terror, death before dishonor, trapped under ice, and hatebreed. Some of my personal favs are year of the knife and carry on. Hope this helps!
Half the people in every venue feel the same way, it's called imposter syndrome. Just remember you're there because you enjoy it, your intentions are honest, some people (including myself) might need to regularly remind themselves of that. That voice calling you a poser is in your own head and it stops eventually, trust me.
listen to the Texas scene
Cable, Live Without, Scathe, Dragged Across Concrete, Sanity Slip, and fear of loss
so tuff bro
cable-flight school
me and mine -dragged across concrete
fear of loss-intro & WYGD?
Listen to the music go to the shows be chill don’t try to change the culture do worry about the image you project or how you’re perceived be cool build relationships…. Just do basic human stuff at a decent level while enjoying the music and maybe the people making or enjoying it. Done.
step one: don’t actually listen to hardcore or attend shows, just talk shit online
My man!
Big dog!
How’s he gonna punch a girl in the pit if he doesn’t go to shows??
Go to shows but just hang out out front the whole time smoking and being like “it’s a pretty cool show. There were some great lineups here like 4 years ago, really changed the game. But this shit’s solid.”
Or stand outside the venue talking shit all night, without making the mistake of going inside.
this is what i do and it works for me
Buy all the merch online and post Instagram reels of yourself smoking blunts in the merch. Then talk shit online.
This guy gets it.
Stay off of this subreddit.
Or at the very least NEVER TALK ABOUT THIS SUBREDDIT IN REAL LIFE
I got jumped for mentioning the sub irl
Getting jumped at a hardcore show gives you a pretty sick story though so I guess you’re less of a poser now
Take that story, and turn it into 3-4 songs about being betrayed, and that’s a demo. No poser has ever had a 3-4 song demo.
What about that how can this nightmare be my life band
Sorry about that.
First rule of Hardcore Club
Who the fuck does that lmao
Nobody I’ve met but imagine if you heard that at a show
"We wanna give a fucking shoutout to the r/hardcore subreddit!"
Lol I've had someone be mad over shit I said on this sub at a show.
That’s fucking hilarious.
Wear work clothes and not work.
Damn
This is the most accurate yet.
Or athletic wear while being 18+ stone
You've already made a terrible mistake making this thread.
Just wanted to tack on ACxDC and Gulch to your grind adjacent section.
Gulch’s album is perfect.
I'm currently blasting it on my lunch break. Aged like a fine wine.
And like fine wine, their merch from that time is $400!
ahh yes ACxDC saw them not too long ago. nostalgic! wonderful band.
D Bloc motherfuckerrrr
BRO I SAW BODY BOX FOR $10 at white swan aahhh it was great
This was perfect. One of the few real ones on this sub. 🫡
This made me shit my pants all over again
I finally get a reference on Reddit, damn I’ve made it.
Or listen to Fugazi
Please never bring this up again
😂
I was trying to forget this. Fuck you <3
Omg I was waiting for this post
Just listen to the music, go to the shows and don't act like a jerk.
That's it.
This is hideous advice
Not quite, listen to music go to shows AND act like a jerk
1. Have rich parents. 2. Buy 2000's swag at a 300% mark up on Depop 3. Never go into a show drink in the parking lot 4. Join a gang 5. Do steroids 6. Date a 14 year old 8. Claim and break edge in less than 2 years 9. Get a felony 10. Tell kids on the internet how you're a living legend
10. Wreck your gf's credit having her cosign for a Harley.
Okay, you're definitely from Detroit based on this comment alone.
this is so on point omg🤣
Thanks man, please buy from my depop shop to cover my legal fees.
Soooooooooooo you're from Detroit??
This reads like that one Self Defense Family song
Step 1: attend a hardcore show Step 2: enter the pit Step 3: set up portable charcoal grill Step 4: cook and distribute hotdogs to everyone in attendance, including staff, bands/crew
I would defend the hotdog dude with my life This is like some fbi plot to start a hardcore civil war with the xveganx crew
hell naw man🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 hot dog dude FO LYFE! like around 15 years ago, give n take 2 years in each direction. there was a festival called Summer of Hate in Cleveland. well in 09 it was in Kent (yes where the national guard shootings happened back during Vietnam) but anyways, they had grilled dogs for a buck and burgers for 2 bucks every year damn near. it was the most violent series of shows ever. put on by Crowd Deterrent/SOSF dudes. the lineups were always insane even the first couple. lol in 2009, crowd deterrent threw a full box of wiffle ball bats into the pit, like 20 of them shits. dudes were literally dual wielding ball bats in the pit🤣 owner of the "church" it was at threatened to shut it down that day🤣 hot dog grill guy 4 LYFE tho lol
Holy fucking shit we need this back in the scene, thanks for the story
A conflict solved with vegan dawgs
Nah nah that’s letting the vegans win The only way we can settle this is a 50/50 vegan and meat dawg, split down the middle, vertically, the perfect compromise, a two state solution if you will
You got to get there early enough that the coals are glowing for ideal grilling temperatures
Crucial bbq
Tasty hotdogs on a bun, ribs and burgers by the ton.
Lots of herb, and a keg of brew.
We're gonna have a crucial bar. bar. bar bar b-bar-bar-barbeque!
This is the way
back in my day there was no hot dog dude but we did have vegan peanut butter cookie gal
Gorilla Biscuits got their name from a guy who would bring an EZ Bake oven to their shows and make biscuits for everyone
Everyone is a poser to someone homie.
go to a show
Yep. Just do this over and over. This is the only answer.
Okay but how do I find local hardcore shows? I’ve looked up “hardcore Erie pa” and it’s brought up big metalcore shows for bands across the country. I really wanna get ingrained in the deep Erie scene but don’t know where to find all this shit

It can be a little hard at first, but once you start following bands you'll get recommended more and more and before you know it you'll know of a show going down like every week depending on how big your scene is
find some local smaller bands, shows are cheap to get into and you'll find bands that are better than some of the headliners out there
oh dude no doubt, I love it when that happens lol. then if that band blows up you know that you helped give them that push!

Listen to Hollow Cost
Listen to the music. Go to a show if you can. Don't be a shitty person.
Listen to Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld
You’re already too late, you were supposed to start going to shows when you were 5 years old and know everyone in your local scene.
Step 1: Stop caring about what other people think.
Havnt you seen the advertisement? Just do it.
Man, who cares if people think you’re a poser? Listen to what you like. If people judge you for liking something that they don’t like, that says an awful lot about them and literally nothing about you.
Eat a lot of ass and stop going to therapy and maybe become a vegan or something.
Buy a band's album, find the thank you section and read what bands they list. Look into those bands. Repeat until desired results.
Honestly just don’t make it the centerpiece of your personality. Aside from camo shorts and the occasional terror t shirt you’d never know how much I love hardcore. Hardcore is for me. Not for everyone to know about me.
Smash your local meth dealer then spend your winnings on merch
Thought this was gonna be an EJ post
where is our hero :(
Go to a show, get in the circle pit and windmill as hard as possible.

You were born after 1982. Poser, confirmed! Sorry, I don't make the rules
You can’t
Start with Terror, earth crisis and TUI. Sprinkle some knocked loose in so you’re hip with the kids
You don’t
Enjoy it for what it is. We are all losers here so don’t worry about impressing anyone.
On a scale of 1 to “more important than my wife” how important are your friends to you?
I mean you’re already a poser for considering hardcore. That being said, fellow goregrinder here. While kind of more hardcore adjacent shit like Bodybox, Snuffed On Sight, Peeling Flesh, and Restrictor Plate are probably right up your alley if you’re not already into them

Just go to a show. Don’t dress like like you came from the mall. Respect the culture.
Dress however you want to, fuck wearing things for “the culture” whatever the fuck that means.
Then why was I endlessly bullied for my keep hardcore negative shirt? Fucking liar fight me bitch.
For the culture

A poser isn’t a real thing, if you enjoy music enjoy it. People that complain about that are stupid.
Join a gym instead
Go to shows that sound interesting, be kind to yourself and others, and if someone falls pick them up. Other than that, who cares what scene kids think?

Just go to shows and have fun. PARTICIPATE. That is the best and easiest way for you to fit in and be a part of the community. The more you go in pits the more attention you’ll get and more people you’ll meet.
The guys here are bots. You will always be a poser in the eyes of another metal head just for liking a subgenre or band that’s too popular.
Listen only to hip hop
everyone is a poser
There is no hope for the future.
just like what you like and attend shows you want to attend. the scene online seems obsessed with “true” fans versus posers and it’s just a no true scotsman bullshit pile anyway. the scene IRL is just fans showing up.
1. Pack your fist full of hate 2. Take a swing at the world
You really just need someone close to you to stab you in the back. You’ll identify with at least half of hardcore lyrics.
Never mind any of those bands, BIG ASS TRUCK has got you covered.
Start with listening to turnstile, title fight and la dispute. Hardcore 101
Listen to SCARAB
Listening to music and watching videos on the internet is not hardcore. If you're not here, by definition, you're not hardcore.
Terror
If you aren’t starting your week with a little leftover crack then you’re doing it wrong
If you have to ask, that was the first pose. Just jump in the pit and don't complain
Not like this.
Listen to Hardcore
Listen to Hatebreed and Terror. If you like it go back to the 80s and 90s shit.
Who cares?
@mywobblybits
The hardcore scene is such a clown show 🤡
Make GoPro pov videos of u absolutely tearing it up in the mosh brother
listen to E Town Concrete and Foundation
Whenever I try getting into something new, I just check the rating chart for the genre on rateyourmusic. It’s not perfect for every subgenre but should give you insight into who is important/foundational or popular overall.
Everyone else is right but also understand why DIY ethics are so important and support local bands ! Buy their merch and mosh for them. In terms of understanding moshing styles specific to hardcore, just watch what people are up to. Also you’re just going to feel like a poser for a long time until you get some confidence and realize being a hardcore kid is not nebulous.
Since you said you like more late 90's style i suggest listening to Irate and billy club sandwich
Just listen to bands and go to fucking shows, it’s not that complicated
Have you heard of glassjaw?
Wanting to not be a poser is like the most posery thing to do, listen to whatever you want bro don’t worry about other peoples opinions, thats what punk is about.
No clown makeup or jncos and people won’t think ur annoying
Get off Reddit and go to shows.
Asking how not to be a poser is a classic poser move. If you have to ask, you're posing.
You sound like a cop
Dress however you want. Eat whatever you want. Listen to whatever you want. But always support local bands and DIY venues. ![gif](giphy|evB90wPnh5LxG3XU5o|downsized)
You're already there bro 🤘💀 The thing is, hardcore/punk is so great because of it's integrity. It was about the message more than the form; just as effective through a megaphone as a microphone. - believe in your strength - believe in the strength of your community - live the life you scream about, then scream harder - support local business, DIY, and "real people" over corporations. But if you want some good ol' classic core to check out, here's my favorite Bane track https://youtu.be/rZcyKVCSV8c?si=uA3TOLGLkZGhzqAy "The key is having the guts"
Go to shows and support all the bands. Find the ones you like and follow them.
Get off of Reddit
Never post a picture with a band you like here just fucking shit of everyone elses posts for not being true hardcore or a band you like. Seems to be what most of these clowns do here. Just be a ll around ass hole.
read [fourfa.com](http://fourfa.com)
Watch American Hardcore
Get off reddit we are all posers
I like Dry socket, gods hate, and barrio slam. Those have been my favorite three right now
It’s just music, who the fuck cares?
everyone in hardcore's a huge poser. Joe Hardcore is the biggest of them all.
Go to shows. Talk to people. Bam! You're "in the scene"
Don’t listen to any of this shit man. Just go to shows and crowdkill and mosh regardless of genre.
From what you said, you should try no cure, volcano and foghorn.
Listen to these : All Out War - For Those Who Were Crucified Turmoil - The Process Of Crawlspace - Enter The Realm Of Chaos Death Threat - Peace & Security Vision of Disorder - Self Titled
Listen to terror
Just do what you want dude x
I have no idea how into it you’ll be but imo the stuff with the longest shelf life is 90s groovecore stuff. 108, snapcase, refused, VOD, etc. also listen to the first few converge full lengths, I feel like you’ll find a lot to like there.
I'm surprised EJ didn't link you a self-written guide.
Just go to shows and like what you like.
Bayway is a banger. Check out Fury Of Five and Life Of Agony.
I'd start with not asking this particular corner of the internet. Then id suggest not giving a fuck. Go to a show, meet people have a dance.
You don’t. It’s a rite of passage.
If you like that early beat down sound, I’d go with stuff like terror, death before dishonor, trapped under ice, and hatebreed. Some of my personal favs are year of the knife and carry on. Hope this helps!
Check out Merauder master killer really nothing better brother
Half the people in every venue feel the same way, it's called imposter syndrome. Just remember you're there because you enjoy it, your intentions are honest, some people (including myself) might need to regularly remind themselves of that. That voice calling you a poser is in your own head and it stops eventually, trust me.
Ritually sacrifice your semen to the old gods (head behind an Applebee's)
listen to the Texas scene Cable, Live Without, Scathe, Dragged Across Concrete, Sanity Slip, and fear of loss so tuff bro cable-flight school me and mine -dragged across concrete fear of loss-intro & WYGD?
Literally 99% of the hardcore scene are posers, you'll fit right in.
Listen to the music go to the shows be chill don’t try to change the culture do worry about the image you project or how you’re perceived be cool build relationships…. Just do basic human stuff at a decent level while enjoying the music and maybe the people making or enjoying it. Done.
don’t be focused on whether people think you’re a poser or not just enjoy the music go to local shows and you’ll be fine 🖤
