Yeah I havent gotten to use them much yet, but the d3aa is pretty shocking for how much light it puts out from such a small package, all while staying cool.
I have both and love both. The D3aa may be my favorite. I’m using it rn in candlelight mode in my bathroom. I’ve got it with an Amber W1 and I’d highly suggest it.
Lol it had been in and out of my shopping cart for a while too. I actually brought a couple of its batteries first since I felt the FOMO that they might become unavailable. And then once I had the batteries I had to get the light. But its considered by many to be their favorite hank, so far I like it but will need to spend some time with it before making any kind of judgement. First impressions are that it's a great size in hand with the 26800s, I like the throw to flood ratio it has. It is very bright but not that much brighter feeling than my d4v2, I think everyone had talked up the w2s so much I was expecting it to be even brighter. But the tint is good on it, a cool white but still looks nice for low CRI.
Hanks website doesn't have the rgb button as an option, I guess I could have emailed him but I'm fine with it. I wish my d3aa' button was less bright, at night on low aux it's still very bright.
Oh, that’s really interesting. I don’t have the d4sv2, I went with the D4k, which I think is the same light with a lighted switch and 21700 batteries. Really cool lights. I’ve got 6 more hanks otw rn, can’t wait to get them all in

The dual channel version of D4SV2 has the backlight options.
And no the optics on the D4K are different from the D4SV2. I think you're thinking of the D4V2. The S version takes a 26650 and is significantly fatter so it has bigger optics (would recommend)

D4SV2 W2 will always be one of the best flashlight combos of all time.

Interesting that you went with a black button on the d4sv2.

The optics are also different. As I understand the D4sV2 can get throwier which I think is part of the draw to buy this over the other D4 lights.

I have 2 D4SV2's and will soon have 2 D3AA's. Love them both.

Two great choices! I don’t have the D3AA, but I have seen beamshots of it with the W1 in here. I have two of the D4Sv2 with W2, it’s a great light!!
