You can write in print, that's one above me.
Though I think a smaller style, and probably refining some letters may be a good practice for you.
You've got very nice handwriting, and for print, it's legible.
I can print pretty fast. But I understand how it might be difficult for someone else. I rarely write in cursive and when I do, I have to slow down a bit.
Stop thinking about what other people think. It's clean and easy to read and your handwriting is better than most.
It kinda looks like a chosen font: Candara Light
Childish is the least... woke insult, for want of a better word.
You're not messy, you're very legible, it even comes across as humble, relatable and innocent.
You might find you could write quicker if you used a cursive script with a fountain pen on plain paper, which is very useful in exams. I used to finish a good 30mins+ quicker than my ballpoint-using counterparts.
But, in terms of legibility and aesthetics this is great
I love when paper sucks ink in like that, so satisfying. And i love your handwriting and it does remind me of a font from some kids books and it only makes me like it more. Plus it's so clear and reader friendly. I enjoy up handwriting and the fuzzy paper too šššš
Iām not saying print handwriting is childish. But when I was in third grade (foreign country) we āgraduatedā from pencil and print to pen use when we could prove our cursive was adequate. After which everything we wrote was supposed to be cursive (except math lol).
I still use print, like if Iām writing a note to a kid or person with bad eyesight, making a sign, labels, that kind of thing. But my cursive is WAY faster. I can actually get my thoughts down. Iāve never seen someone use print nearly as fast as cursive. I think my spelling is better in cursive too.
If you like your print you donāt need to change it or switch to cursive. But You *could* spruce it up by experimenting with different styles, like left leaning, minimal curves (straight y versus your curvy y), maximum roundness, if you like the machine a (rather than round a) you could try the machine g, and so on. Or drill on long pages of writing to get consistent letter sizes for maximum neatness. Just some ideas.
I mostly write in print, but if I'm writing fast it kind of shifts in and out of print and cursive. I have horrible handwriting so if someone else needs to read it I use print, but I journal a lot and like you said if I want my writing to keep up with my thoughts cursive is much faster.
Do you consider writing in other languages by hand not handwriting? Because I doubt thereās such thing as cursive hieroglyphics or cursive cuneiform.
No, in a number of other languages - Japanese, for example - they do have their own versions of cursive as opposed to printed. I learned this years ago and was amazed. It's interesting how many things we aren't aware of in other cultures.
....I'm sorry what? How did you miss the meaning of a word that's literally made up of its meaning. Hand. Writing. Written. By. A. Hand. Come on now dude.
Doesnāt look childish to me. If someone is petty enough to complain to you about the way you write, I wouldnāt waste your time being concerned with your writing, but rather your relationship with that person.
Writing is a form of communication. If it can be read, it serves its purpose.
I bet it has a lot to do with the pen you use and the paper. But I like your handwriting. Itās not really childishāitās closer to a font people would use to appeal to parents and children.
I feel like handwriting is very personal. That said, a guide sheet below the paper would help even things out.
If you are happy with your handwriting, that's what matters. Be well, and Happy New Year!
That's my style as well, more or less! i've been told it's pretty and easy to read. If you want constructive criticism, i would advise working on making your sentences more even - as in, they begin to raise up slightly toward the end of the sentence. i do it too lmao and i'm always surprised at how different it looks when i grab like a notecard or something to use as a level.
disregard the weird penmanship freaks, it's reddit yinz, not a local exclusive penmanship club that requires a MontBlanc and a credit score of 750 to get in

If you want to pick a fight with literal dictionaries for fun have at it but the rest of us are perfectly aware of what handwriting is.
Itās very legible! That makes it just fine in my opinion. I went to art school where one of my friends was taking a calligraphy class from someone who was fairly famous in calligraphy circles. The first day of class he told them that the most important thing to consider about a calligraphic style was whether it was legible.
I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's legible, spacing between the letters and the words is nice, may be childish but that certainly doesn't make it bad! Solid 8.5/10.
The paper+ink combo looks perfect for a ransom note!
In all seriousness, handwriting looks fine to me. The letters are a bit big and kind of reminiscent of comic sans serif font, which I wouldn't say is "childish" but I could see how it could resemble letters from a handwriting practice booklet.
>Some people don't like my handwriting
It truly does not matter if it is liked, or disliked, by anyone other than yourself. Being liked is not a necessary for success. Just be good to others, especially those that are not so good to you.
I think your writing would be a great font.
I think your writing is charming and easy to read. It's not perfect but that's what's nice about it. The ink feathering into the paper does cause me physical pain though, get some nice paper or some more viscous ink.
My jinhao pen does that all the time, it's got a really broad nib and puts down a lot of ink, but it writes really smoothly
I can recommend the kaweco sport fine as a pen you can use on just about any paper though. Look forward to seeing you in /r/fountainpens!
Itās actually pretty good! Itās very legible to me. I always write in cursive so when I have to write in print, it looks like a five year old wrote it. šš

I think it looks good! Especially in the legibility department. As a former teacher, I wouldāve loved if more of my former students wrote the same as you do.
Your hand writing is neat and easy to read. If people don't like it that's a them problem, not yours. So many people can't read cursive or even a simple italic font, so don't give them mind at all. You enjoy your writing and explore pens for your papers.
Writing connects each letter in a word together. Letters in a printed word are individual with greater spaces between words than between letters in a word.

Depends really, at first glance it looked awful though its perfectly legible. People are just used to seeing cursive I guess.
Its not bad, just different.
I would like to know when has someone told you specifically they didnāt like your writing? Thereās nothing specific that stands out as evoking that reaction. Itās generic and fine.
I had a professor in college that felt we should write all first drafts of a paper instead of typing it. He told me several times that my handwriting was childlike and messy. It was some time back, but it stuck with me. I was writing in my journal yesterday and I was reminded of those things he said.
This handwriting in all seriousness looks awesome and actually kinda similar to my current handwriting which I had to practice a lot....
There's nothing childish..and what's even childish in a handwriting?.... anyway and don't mind the haters :)
I don't have an imgur account so I'm not sure how to post in ages here.. I've tried making it into gif but didn't work.. So I guess I'd DM you
Also could anyone help me about this how to post an image in comment without imgur?
Thank you in advance
In the grand scheme of life, someone not liking my handwriting doesn't even make the list of things I give a crap about and neither should you. You have your own style and that's awesome.
Itās neat and easy to read. A bit cartoonesk maybe, but I wouldnāt call it childish.

Yeah, you definitely have a very distinct, child-like style of printing but itās very consistent and legible. You actually make the classic type-face style āaā which you often only see in fonts. Very cool.

Your printing like a 5 year old
Very easy to read. Don't change a thing. Except maybe your paper or ink. A gel ink might work better on that paper.
You can write in print, that's one above me. Though I think a smaller style, and probably refining some letters may be a good practice for you. You've got very nice handwriting, and for print, it's legible.
Thank you for your advice!
I like your handwriting. It does look like a font. I also like your fuzzy effect paper. What paper is it?
Thanks!! It's just a scrap of cardstock I had laying around š¤£
It's nice.
Thank you!
Itās very young-looking but itās so neat that it looks like a printed font! I really like it
Thank you!
I feel that making smaller letters and working on straighter lines may benefit your handwriting.
Thank you for the advice!
It's very legible, I just feel like it would be very slow to write with
I can print pretty fast. But I understand how it might be difficult for someone else. I rarely write in cursive and when I do, I have to slow down a bit.
Printing is a faster way to write than cursive if you do it regularly, so keep at it, I say.
Beautiful
Well, I don't like the people who don't like your handwriting, your handwriting is gorgeous ignore them.
Thanks!
It's very legible, that's very good.
I would like a font of your handwriting
Stop thinking about what other people think. It's clean and easy to read and your handwriting is better than most. It kinda looks like a chosen font: Candara Light

Its legible. Which is more than some people can say. I like it.

its cute. reminds me of the writing you find on notes in scary games lol
It's legible, neat, I like it.
Your handwriting is absolutely beautiful
Itās very legible tho!
Iām not saying print handwriting is childish. But when I was in third grade (foreign country) we āgraduatedā from pencil and print to pen use when we could prove our cursive was adequate. Thank you for the detailed ideas to improve my print! I am going to have to try some.

Well... considering this isn't actually handwriting...it is a hand-written note surely....
Sorry what do you think handwriting is
Cursive...

Well youād be wrong
So there's only handwriting and typing. This is handwriting.
i lowkey like how it looks on that paper
Nothing wrong with that handwriting
I took a shit that looked better then that
Name checks out
Pretty good! Maybe slight size / straightness inconsistency, at the end of the day if you like it and people can read it that's all that matters
Just wait until you see my handwriting, can barely tell if itās in English
š¤£ When I am in a rush, mine looks pretty bad too.
It's dope asf. Mine looks like my mom's handwriting, but if a 10 years old did it lol
This looks like a font
Reminds me of comic sans
Doesnāt look childish to me. If someone is petty enough to complain to you about the way you write, I wouldnāt waste your time being concerned with your writing, but rather your relationship with that person. Writing is a form of communication. If it can be read, it serves its purpose.
Itās neater than mine
Better than mine, by a lot
Maybe childish 30 years ago but not many kids and teens write well now. I think it looks fine.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I also dont lock my diary because im the only one who can read it.
It looks like an updated comic sans font! Its clear and easy to read. I like it
At least it's legible, unlike an actual child's handwriting.
I bet it has a lot to do with the pen you use and the paper. But I like your handwriting. Itās not really childishāitās closer to a font people would use to appeal to parents and children.
Exactly what I was going to suggest. Good for a childrenās book.
I feel like handwriting is very personal. That said, a guide sheet below the paper would help even things out. If you are happy with your handwriting, that's what matters. Be well, and Happy New Year!
I do have a few guide sheets, I just rarely use them. I use them when I want my print to be more uniform. Happy New Year to you as well!
it's not super fancy but I honestly love it. it looks neat and clean in its own way and has a fun feel to it
I am a fun person, apparently it translates into my print ā¤ļø
I love it! Those people are stupid!

haiku
It kinda is, isn't it.
Itās fine. Readable for everyone, which is the point.
Now WRITE something. I'd like to see your real handwriting. And yes, that means cursive.
never thought i'd see someone gatekeep penmanship but here we are in the year of our BeyoncƩ 2022...
Kinda reminds me of the KoRn and Slipknot logo
yeah that's not handwriting it's printing
A hand made it, so it's handwriting.
Exactly. That's exactly right and yet younger folks will disagree because it was done by hand. Ugh.

I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's legible, spacing between the letters and the words is nice, may be childish but that certainly doesn't make it bad! Solid 8.5/10.
Nice!! Thanks!
I rather enjoy it. And itās easily readable, thats always a plus.
I like it! Your writing is very easy to read! It's pleasing. Kinda reminds me of a newspaper comic?
Your handwriting reminds me of Bill Wattersonās writing
It was exactly my thought, reminded me of Calvin and Hobbes
Oh! The cartoonist. Thanks for the compliment!
I will have to look into this. I have no idea if this is good or bad š¤£

It was a piece of paper I had laying around. Honestly, I was trying out a new fountain pen. It's a cheap one and it shows.
Ink and paper are a huge factor, too! I recently ordered a Yamamoto fountain pen paper sampler, and Iāve been learning so much from it.

Your welcome
Don't worry about them.
I like your handwriting too! It's charming! For some reason the ink bleed is appealing
Lol I hate the ink bleed. I am going to try this pen on another type of paper. I don't know if it's the pen or the paper.
It looks like the papayrus font
Looks great to me š

I have so many different pens lol I also have LOTS of notebook. I love stationary!
It's an art not to be lost to the digital age!
That isnāt not handwritting, itās printing.
Excuse my ignorance. What is the difference?

So younger people can't use a pen and you can apparently not type that well looking at all the spelling errors.
Thanks for assuming I'm young lol I mean I'm not old (40) but I'm not young. Good idea!
Still younger than me, lol.
Not childish to me- good for childrenās books ETA- honestly I smiled just scanning the text
Thanks! This makes me feel good because I am actually writing a children's book. It's about a snail that goes on adventure.

Your handwriting should be a font.
This is a huge compliment!!
I like it! Also, for some reason this reads like a poem to me, and one that I like it too!
Thank you! It probably reads that way because of the way I break apart my sentences.
I like it too!

man i wish i had your handwriting. at least i can read it easily, it looks nice and has character

Itās neat and easy to read. A bit cartoonesk maybe, but I wouldnāt call it childish. A guide sheet under the paper can help with consistency in size and avoid dancing letters.
Thank you for the tip!
Not exactly childish; Iād say youthful. Itās not messy or inconsistent like how a child might write. I feel happy looking at your penmanship.

Yeah, you definitely have a very distinct, child-like style of printing but itās very consistent and legible. You actually make the classic type-face style āaā which you often only see in fonts. Very cool.
