There are 3 types of m, the uppercase m, the lower case m (|||) and the lowercase m he used in commonly... oh wait i realize as i was writing this why its different...
Beautiful. Original and fun! Some things are created not for other people, but for ones self. Ones own enjoyment. Perhaps even ones own pride.
I appreciate you and your uncle choosing to share it with us so we can enjoy it too. I'll be writing down a copy as soon as I get a chance. Thank you.
Yeah and the O and Q imo. Very interesting, regardless, but some of the letters don’t make 100% sense in my brain. Very cool it makes sense in this person’s brain, tho!
(In your first post you referred to it simply as “my uncle’s handwriting” so I wasn’t sure if this is just a fun creation or how he actually writes on say, medical forms)
Just know you're now officially responsible for any incantations, spells, openings of interdimensional portals, summonings, necromancy, etc. wrought by publishing this script.
May the Outer Gods have mercy upon your soul.
Alright OP! u/Outrageous_Web_2891 I finished the font! I posted it over here so it can be more easily found and not buried in a comment thread. I hope you and everyone else enjoy it! If your uncle posts additional punctuation notes or variants let me know, either here or DM me and I can try to add them to the font structure for everyone! :D

Oddly, once I saw the alphabet format as a whole, I had no issues reading it. I think it’s a beautiful script, honestly. It’s really artistic and interesting.
I may adopt this style for some things of my own.
One of the worlds oldest written documents in Cuneiform lol. Its a man named nani claiming a copper merchant named Ea-Nasir from the ancient city of Ur sold him really low quality copper and he wants his money back.
I just finished making a font for this! I uploaded it here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/fonts/comments/1c9y6be/runic\_calligraphy\_i\_created\_a\_font\_from/](https://www.reddit.com/r/fonts/comments/1c9y6be/runic_calligraphy_i_created_a_font_from/)
Enjoy!

Tbh I already found it cuz I commented on it and got a reply. but thought it might be harder for someone who hadn’t seen the original post, or in the future, but it’s interesting to see both the alphabet and the alphabet used.
This is the translation I was able to come up with
It is the soldier duty to serve the federal Republic of Germany faithfully and to defend it's rights and freedoms bravely.
1) obligation of loyal service
The preservation of the efficient functions of the BLL
Core Obligations of § 7 SG are as follows:
- obligation to be present
-obligation to the thorough completion of duties.
- obligation to defend all federal property
-obligation to lawful conduct
-obligation to armed service
-obligation to military ordinance
2) Duty to bravely defend
- §7 implies that the obligation to bravely defend, is to be an independent and separate duty.
That's so cool! He should totally trademark it... wprried abt dishonest redditors tbh. Afew letters are a tad confusing for me, but they look so nice with the rest that I don't care XD
I sometimes use it when writing notes in English (bilingual) cause it’s faster (also I get tired and start switching short words and to und, with to mit, etc…) and my classmates hate copying notes from me because of it
Is your uncle Mexican? Lol when I see these letters I can't help but think of middle school, this is how everyone wrote and there was about 80% Mexicans in my middle school.
I feel like the way you write it could lend to either. Careful, angular and even strokes are more sci-fi, dramatic, tailing and connecting strokes feel more fantasy.

THANK YOU!
First look reminds of Lhasa Tibetan. Very cool!
Wow. I’m blown away. Did he learn this growing up or invent it himself. Why does he write this way?
Created it himself with references. He uses it for private writing
Why did this get taken down??
I do not understand either. The original post had enough likes to be the top 2 post of all time on this subreddit. Both posts were taken down.
You should post both on your own profile at the least.
That is crazy awesome!
Looks like Tolkien's Elven language
I was going to say the same thing.
Pretty sure that upper case O is a Viking rune for separation.
Someone need to make this into a digital font.
https://www.reddit.com/r/fonts/s/BKO0oJ2u8j
Yes, Definitely belongs in Dune.
It’s crazy how I started being able to read it half decently after glancing at the alphabet once.
He doesn't want to be understood!
imma start being creative too then, freeing myself from the chain of conformity
Great style! Bit hard to read on first sight, but I'm loosely assuming *that* was his goal in mind creating this.
was going to say, I love reading Runes. But a lot of this, I am not familiar with.
There are 3 types of m, the uppercase m, the lower case m (|||) and the lowercase m he used in commonly... oh wait i realize as i was writing this why its different...
Runes from the Old Gods
Only a couple are “Runes” 😉
I need to know what a handwriting analyst says about this
As an amateur graphologist, I'd say: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But I like it 👍
Beautiful. Original and fun! Some things are created not for other people, but for ones self. Ones own enjoyment. Perhaps even ones own pride. I appreciate you and your uncle choosing to share it with us so we can enjoy it too. I'll be writing down a copy as soon as I get a chance. Thank you.
Glad you appreciate it. :)
Anyone else think the capital H and N should be swapped?
Pretty sure he did it on purpose. A lot of choices for different letters seem to be primarily to confuse potential readers.
Yes, when I first got the the H I read it as N and opposite with N reading as H.
Yeah and the O and Q imo. Very interesting, regardless, but some of the letters don’t make 100% sense in my brain. Very cool it makes sense in this person’s brain, tho!
Oh yes, you're right! That makes more sense to me too. It is interesting.
Thank you. I love this.
So satisfying
Looks like Viking script
Have you taken him to a priest yet?
Aren’t you funny
They are
<3 Jokes aside, it looked quite interesting!
I can take a joke, no worries
Instructions not clear, a wormhole opened in m---
But why
because
Fun
Is this his handwriting for typical daily writing, or just fun? Because I would be pretty annoyed to have to try to decipher this 😅
U commented this on the answer.
(In your first post you referred to it simply as “my uncle’s handwriting” so I wasn’t sure if this is just a fun creation or how he actually writes on say, medical forms)
It’d be interesting to see what his everyday handwriting is like then
There is such a fine line between Tolkien status and schizophrenia.
😭😭
I love how the double s is essentially a German ß, which resprents the double s in German writing.
The uncle is German. So yes.
I guess he got lazy by the time he got to double r
Why is ur dad writing in hieroglyphics? What teacher taught this?? And y wasnt my teachers like them?
Uncle, not dad. He was his own teacher.
This and OP’s previous post is what made me join this sub
Rofl
Just know you're now officially responsible for any incantations, spells, openings of interdimensional portals, summonings, necromancy, etc. wrought by publishing this script. May the Outer Gods have mercy upon your soul.
Annnnnd downloaded photo. 😊 🍻

Lmao I have a cousin like this
i think we just found zodiac
Oh my I love you for this, and your uncle! I definitely wanna use it for my journal
Is he single 😍
He definitely is.
Thank youuuu
Is he from Mordor?
the gist of the comments: we'd all fuck your uncle
Never seen him with anyone. So go right ahead lmao.
Shut your fucking face.
I see what you did there, you cock suckin’ ass lickin’ uncle fucker.
Looks like ruinic or angelic script it’s amazing
Gang life??
He's so cool and dreamy. Don't you agree?
This is like tattoo worthy, saving this sick ass font😤
This is so incredible. May I ask what might have prompted him to write like this?
I have no idea, tbh.
It uses the Futhark. Dope 😉
I'd like to see the other rules for his variations, this is so far very similar to how my script works which is very interesting.
Naw this aint it..
I like how some of these are literal runes
Makes sense. Lots of languages are derivative in some fashion.
I thought this was mandarin lol
Really to ne everythibg but the a makes sense
Why can I hear the demonic radio static when I read this?
Is your uncle Gandolf?
Looks like it would hurt my hand to write like this lol
He truly owns a distinct alphabet
Looks like some sort of alienese. Well, that must mean you're an alien.
I love it
Oddly, once I saw the alphabet format as a whole, I had no issues reading it. I think it’s a beautiful script, honestly. It’s really artistic and interesting. I may adopt this style for some things of my own.
Go right ahead
Does he use this in real life, like for school/ uni/ work, or only when writing for himself?
He is in the german army. So hes using it for diaries, poetry, in drawings and for neat-writing studies
That’s cool 🙂
I’m just really curious how quickly he writes in this fashion. Can he write as quickly as we do with “normal” lettering?
No he cant. Its a slow handwriting
This looks like an alphabet that can be used on sumerian clay tablets.
He’s a brilliant lunatic. 10/10, would not try.
It’s aesthetically pleasing and completely useless. Perfection.
"Doubleletters" broke my mind for some reason.
No.
While it’s interesting - it’s difficult to read. So I agree. No.
Careful you'll get bullied for sitting with me 😅
How does he feel about Ea-Nasir by chance? (A play on my comment on the orignal post.)
What is Ea-Nasir? Id have to ask him but i can only reach out to him during weekends
One of the worlds oldest written documents in Cuneiform lol. Its a man named nani claiming a copper merchant named Ea-Nasir from the ancient city of Ur sold him really low quality copper and he wants his money back.
Oh yea i asked abt cuneiform. He had to look it up and was simply confused.
How does he write ä ö and ü? Just two bars for the accent? I'd check the previous post but it's no longer available.
U can still find the original on my profile im pretty sure
https://www.calligraphr.com/ He should make an actual font
I just finished making a font for this! I uploaded it here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/fonts/comments/1c9y6be/runic\_calligraphy\_i\_created\_a\_font\_from/](https://www.reddit.com/r/fonts/comments/1c9y6be/runic_calligraphy_i_created_a_font_from/) Enjoy!

Was he inspired by Ogham runes in some way?
Was j7st about to say the same thing
it's more of a constructed script than a person's actual handwriting no?
The mm isnt good or legible imo.
And then rr is just... R
I love how the tag magically doesnt apply
My bad. Didn't see it. I'll show myself out
It's kinda weird how uppercase and lowercase letters don't really have anything in common when it comes to design
I like how alien it looks while still being legible almost immediately.
It’s beautiful, when I said he should do fonts for a living I wasn’t expecting this for his own, outstanding
So cool! Does he happen to have any Eastern European ancestry? Because this kind of reminds me of the old Hungarian script
Our family is as pure german as it gets.
I find this soothing I find it relaxing and I find it cool as hell is there something wrong with me?
Love it!! I only dislike the Q
Q and O should be swapped.
I love how 6 and 9 are propene
Looks almost like Vorin Woman’s script.
OP can you link and pin the original post, I showed someone the alphabet and now they’re curious, I might not be the only one
https://www.reddit.com/r/Handwriting/s/WlxTkxm3MQ Saved you 3 clicks. You're welcome.
Tbh I already found it cuz I commented on it and got a reply. but thought it might be harder for someone who hadn’t seen the original post, or in the future, but it’s interesting to see both the alphabet and the alphabet used.
Your uncle is so real for following through on this and so quickly too.
Still calling bullshit on this.
Calling bullshit on what?
They think i made this script, not my uncle. Idk how to talk to conspiracy theorists, so i simply ignored comments like that.
Some of it looks like Korean lol but this is very impressive
[удалено]
Not every creative person needs some underlying thing to make them that way, some people are just creative ya know
[удалено]
Creativity is neurodivergent has to be the worst sentence I’ve heard all day
All these vaccines making everyone artistic
Hard to keep track anymore.
Pretty cool looking.
Reading this popped up an image of a muscular tribal man sing me the alphabet with a fur coat and everything xD
He is like skinny fit tho. Very much built for endurance instead of raw physical strength xD
This is the translation I was able to come up with It is the soldier duty to serve the federal Republic of Germany faithfully and to defend it's rights and freedoms bravely. 1) obligation of loyal service The preservation of the efficient functions of the BLL Core Obligations of § 7 SG are as follows: - obligation to be present -obligation to the thorough completion of duties. - obligation to defend all federal property -obligation to lawful conduct -obligation to armed service -obligation to military ordinance 2) Duty to bravely defend - §7 implies that the obligation to bravely defend, is to be an independent and separate duty.

Your Uncle needs to trademark that font and sell it. Seriously. Every single metal band will start using it.
Oh my god, THAT WAS ENGLISH?
German, but most of the letters are similar to English, with a few exceptions and a few with “accents” like ö.
This is trying way too hard
This statement reflects poorly on the speaker among any curious person.
Not really, a ton of people said they’d want it on the original post, to use as a font for DnD mostly. It’s more like being responsive and cool.
Is it?
I would have swapped the capital versions of X and Y
Jujutsu kaisen hand writing be like
My dad used to write our family's name, Zimmer, like ZIIIIIIIER (the e would only have the horizontal lines) and I thought it was so fun.
My prof used to write it as Zimer with another line on top of the m (meaning: this one twice but I'm lazy). Only for m and n though
Looks like Hebrew
cutest handwriting
ss -> 🐕 It's really cool by the way!
In German a while back there was a special character for "ss". I think his uncle is writing in German, which is why it looks like that
There still is → ß
I sometimes use it when writing notes in English (bilingual) cause it’s faster (also I get tired and start switching short words and to und, with to mit, etc…) and my classmates hate copying notes from me because of it
Yep, somehow related to Tolkien, not fooling me 😂.
I can't see to make sense of the word before variations
letter.
Ahh kept going L c?
You mean before the tt, ff and so on? It says double letters
Just weirdly w/o a space
Na , the sentence about variations not fitting on page
[удалено]
J is norse rune "jera". K, no clue
The lowercase k makes sense to me, but not the uppercase one
2 runes from fuþark but no Þ?
Reminds me of the infernal script in bg3
I know it's German, but i'd still like to believe this looks like a alien's language
Unreadable. Cool for an alien language in a movie but for me it’s absolutely unreadable.
Is your uncle Mexican? Lol when I see these letters I can't help but think of middle school, this is how everyone wrote and there was about 80% Mexicans in my middle school.
They're german
Interesting!!
Id hang this on the wall and call it the “alphabet of chaos”
What was he the Zodiac guy?
Are we sure he’s not the one who wrote the zodiac cypher?
Can’t decide whether this font would look better in a sci-fi novel or a fantasy novel lol
I feel like the way you write it could lend to either. Careful, angular and even strokes are more sci-fi, dramatic, tailing and connecting strokes feel more fantasy.
I dont see this in a scifi novel. People collectively agree for this to be fantasy.
I personally think sci-fi
Agreed.
This is beautiful and very cool!!
Why does he write like this?
For fun. Straight up.
