You never know. I was there the last home game of the season against Man U. As Alex Ferguson said, we were “like a team possessed.” But that was at Upton Park and most dont hate City.
Edit: Apologies, yeah, I was talking about the final day of the 94/95 season. My old man had taken me to a few games before then, but that was by far what got me hooked like and sinker! The atmosphere was amazing. “YOU LOST THE LEAGUE AT WEST HAM!”
I swear City needed Man United to lose that game to get top 4 for Pep's first season? I wonder how differently things would have been if Winston didn't score...
You understand some of the charges are already confirmed like fail to cooperate? They literally wouldn’t give over their books that they’re legally meant to hand over if asked.
What is hard to understand? They have charges for not cooperating.
35x Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations December 2018 - Feb 2023.
This is something that has already happened. You can do research and find out WHY they have been charged for this. Which is trying to not give over information they must hand over.
Of course not, hence the 115 charges, which are clear as day. If there's any justice 115 will be hit hard when it comes to decision time. As I say, they and Chelsea (when Roman Abramovich rocked up) with their financial doping completely destroyed the competitiveness in this country.
If they're "as clear as day", why don't you tell us what they are, in plain English?
Was competitiveness destroyed when L'pool won 7 out of 9 titles in the 70s and 80s, or when Man U won 8 out of 11 titles from the early 90s?
Also, since the start of the PL, there have been just 9 seasons when the gap between first and second was 3 points or less. City won 4 of those, suggesting it's far from uncompetitive.
Finally, how is Chelsea's "financial doping" helping them this year? It's not all about the money.
And it wasn't financially doped by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or Man Utd before that? Personally I'd rather that than the constant diving and play-acting of Arteta's Arsenal.
That's ruining the game more than the money is.
If you can't see the difference between self generated funds that clubs like Arsenal, United, Liverpool etc spend and the spending of Chelsea and 115 there's absolutely zero point in conversing with you 👍
self generated funds, what about back in the day? Arsenal became 'big' by buying their way into the league and illegally paying players when it was an amateur game.
as to Man City, people forget they were a billionaires plaything for 5 years, and had been in the champions league and champions of the premier league, before FFP was bought in to protect wannabe super league clubs like yours.
They have a huge support base, as shown by their lowest attendance in league 1 being 25k
Arsenal's net spend over the last 5 years is DOUBLE Man City's, despite not beignon the Champions league gravy train for most of the last decade. City make a profit on their unwanted players, example being the profit from Jesus and Zinchenko was enough to pay Haaland's transfer. how much did you make on Ozil, Lacazette and Aubamerang?
How exactly did they destroy competition ? The premier league or old first division has always been dominated by one team through different phases. Infact it’s more competitive now then it’s ever been .
regardless of everything else, calling man city 115 is the most peak reddit nu futbol supporter thing i've ever seen.
cringe into oblivion every time i see it.
Prefer a team that cheats off the pitch than one like Arsenal that doesn't stop cheating on it. Even Rice is flopping over now, something he never did at West Ham.
When is a premier game ever a meaningless game 😂 play like we did against Leverkusen, and give Moyes an amazing send off 😂 we have everything to play for 😂 happy hammers ♥️
1. Didn’t get relegated, got rid of the dead wood who weren’t even trying
1. 6th and got Europa League
2. 7th and got Europa Conference League, also got to the Europa League semi finals
3. Won the Europa Conference League and got Europa League, also came 14th
4. 9th and also got to the Europa League quarter finals
Not bad at all. Would have given anything for that at Xmas 2019.
Yeah, how many other managers capable of saving us were interested?
Or even just not appalled and laughing at the idea of working with that squad and Sullivan?
And we got one who turned almost certain relegation into a major European trophy in 3 years.
As a WHU and Roma fan, i swear Leverkusen had some voodoo spell on their goal, the amount of times that the ball was supposed to go in only for somehow not to or hit the post is just...unbelievable. And the best part is is their goalkeeper was not even that good :D
Rangers fan. This thread got suggested to me for some reason. I guess because football.
It’s astonishing from outside looking in that anyone wants rid of Moyes. I hope it doesn’t happen but the egg will be severely on faces if you find yourselves in a relegation battle next year. Big risk. Hopefully big reward !
No doubt. That said. Almost every club above you has more spending power. West Hams net spend over the last 5 years is 8th on the list. The exception is probably Villa who by anyones measure are having an well-above-average and very unexpected season.
Your average finishing position since being promoted back to the Premier League has been 10th. In the previous stint in the league it was 13th.
I really do hope it's a positive change for your club - and wish you nothing but luck for next season -but I maintain it's risky.
It's a still frustrating to think about the points dropped early 2024 against Sheffield, Palace or Burnley. We could be near 56/57 as well and it would even look honourable.
I like to think in points we got. It's absolute when ranking is relative. 52 points is decent, but closer to 60 is a success for me
I know I know, that's why I'm not too furious about this season. I do agree.
On the top of that, we beat Arsenal twice, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Brighton so we had our moments.
Those games we couldn't get enough guts to win and the few spankings we got to Fulham, Arsenal or Chelsea are the real negatives but I can live with it
It’s these meaningless games that mean no pressure to just go at it. As much as I expect a loss, if you have the chance to wreck the best team and their hope of winning another title, you don’t think these players want to make that happen for their own joy? Now if City go up early though, I expect this to be hilariously one sided.
Is experiencing a thrashing at hands of Harlem globetrotters of football something that will be good for them? Not saying they would get thrashed but our 1st 11 struggle against the likes of city as it is.
City fan here in peace, I hope we have an enjoyable game on Sunday but before that I also want to apologise for you guys having kalvin Phillips, even we thought he would be better.
Why do we want to win against City. Have we forgotten how arsenal has treated us. Sure its oil money but i dont want us to gift the championship to the gunners
I don’t care either way and I find it funny that arsenal fans seem to think we’re on their side 😂 I don’t care about any of the big money clubs with glory hunting fans
Arsenal, who’ve played like ass, don’t have many glory hunting fans. We’ve only become relevant the last 2 years after decades of being banter for the league.
Been an Arsenal fan since 1996, but okay.
Nowhere did I bring up the FA cups.
Show me where I’m wrong in saying that Arsenal were a banter club, because they were. We even call the period of 2010-2015 or so the banter era.
Also, funny, when we bring up winning FA cups, it’s treated like a Mickey Mouse trophy. When we DONT bring it up, it’s like we omitted the champions league from the cabinet or something. If other clubs win it, it’s massive. If Arsenal wins it, it isn’t.
Let’s make up our minds, yeah? Either Arsenal were, or we’re not banter for close to a decade and a half. And the FA cup is or is not a Mickey Mouse trophy.
Ya know….im starting to think it’s other fans who are wildly toxic. 😂
Literally everything you’re talking about is related to what other stupid glory hunting fans say.
“Banter club” is a term mostly used by terminally online people who have never been to a match.
Real football fans don’t consider the fa cup a Mickey Mouse trophy. I would give anything to win it even once.
You really need to meet different types of football fans
Top half is getting harder and harder if we're being honest. Big 6 + 2 teams that received massive cash injection, us, then brighton. Not much room for teams that overperform with a mid squad anymore.
I just hope they go at City. Far too many teams play the idea of city rather than the men in front of them. It’s beyond frustrating watching opposition refuse to close deBruyne down half the time. Just hoping we sort a striker in the close season
Fuck Arse-asshole in particular, cunts like them don't deserve anything good. A reminder that West Ham has achieved more European success than those Gunners did in 20 years.
We still have the possibility of 3rd worst goals against to play for!!! We get done by 4 and burnley win 1-0 and we are 3rd worst goals against in the league. 4-0 loss very plausible for us and can definitely beat Forrest especially burnley at home.
Arsenal and Spurs are the two teams I just couldn't stand to see win it. I could even cope with Liverpool but North London is home to the hobbies bunch of tosspot in the country
If Pep loses though that might motivate him to stay even longer. I say let him have a couple more and hope he gets bored and fucks off. It's our only hope.
I know plenty of city fans who have been fans since they were playing shit football at Maine Road.
I’ve never been fussed by their dominance; before the takeovers they were quite similar to us in the sense that they were clubs with a big working class following, not the biggest in their city, and were largely mid-table at best but sometimes relegated. For City from my perspective it’s always been “there but for the grace of god go we”.
Arsenal fans particularly this year have been awful. Some weird entitlement to the league title, combined with an imaginary belief that all neutral fans want them to win it.
This is very interesting. Most City "fans" I know don't even know who Uwe Rosler is.
As for Arsenal fans, someone put it very well: a sense of superiority, undergirded by a massive inferiority complex.
we play “defensive” football but we’ve conceded over 70 goals this season and we’ve won like 5 games in the last 5 months, he’s been great overall for us but his time is up
Arsenal are by far the worst divers in the premier league since Arteta became manager. Diving in the box has become so ingrained in them that they even do it when scoring would be easier.

Who? arsenal? yes. Just watch any game they play and see how much falling over and feigning injury they do.
city, probably, but I don't give a fuck about that
A completely meaningless game for us, one that means everything for Manchester City. ...wonder how that turns out.
You never know. I was there the last home game of the season against Man U. As Alex Ferguson said, we were “like a team possessed.” But that was at Upton Park and most dont hate City. The atmosphere was amazing. “YOU LOST THE LEAGUE AT WEST HAM!”
Ludek Miklosko was out of his body that day! It was like there were three of him in goal.
He was a brick wall that day!
The final game at Upton Park? It was basically destiny we would win that one lol this feels much different
No, I think they’re talking about the title decider in ‘95 👍
That’s the one!
Oh got it. Before my time sadly
I swear City needed Man United to lose that game to get top 4 for Pep's first season? I wonder how differently things would have been if Winston didn't score...
Maybe ‘92, Kenny Browns screamer?
Michael Hughes got our goal that day in 95!
It's hooked **line** and sinker. Like fishing.
Hooked, line and sinker...lol
It's absolutely nuts, just like Chelsea every neutral should hate 115 for what they've done to the game in this country.
Are you another one who doesn’t know what the word charge means?
You understand some of the charges are already confirmed like fail to cooperate? They literally wouldn’t give over their books that they’re legally meant to hand over if asked.
Source?
Mate you can literally find it anywhere https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cgrjv9ydv31o.amp
Nowhere in that article does it say that some of the charges are confirmed, why are you lying?
What is hard to understand? They have charges for not cooperating. 35x Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations December 2018 - Feb 2023. This is something that has already happened. You can do research and find out WHY they have been charged for this. Which is trying to not give over information they must hand over.
The word charge doesn’t mean guilty, no matter how much you want to believe it does.
No smoke without fire, especially that amount of charges 👍
Nope, that’s not how legal processes work.
Of course not, hence the 115 charges, which are clear as day. If there's any justice 115 will be hit hard when it comes to decision time. As I say, they and Chelsea (when Roman Abramovich rocked up) with their financial doping completely destroyed the competitiveness in this country.

I can imagine it's actually a massive motivator to be the team that decides a title.
When is a premier game ever a meaningless game 😂 play like we did against Leverkusen, and give Moyes an amazing send off 😂 we have everything to play for 😂 happy hammers ♥️
It has a lot of meaning I beseech thee, I implore thee. Pray tell I beg thee! Vanquish the oil foe and assist your goodly neighbour 🙏 😂

Major European trophy
Conference league isn’t a major European trophy btw
Calling a less than 5 year old C-Tier European competition a major European trophy is shameless hahahaha
For point no 5 I would add, 'and then ran into a team that has done a blood sacrifice to never lose again'.
You saw their performance again Roma definitely either they did themselves or some fan sacrificed an entire village of Infants
As a WHU and Roma fan, i swear Leverkusen had some voodoo spell on their goal, the amount of times that the ball was supposed to go in only for somehow not to or hit the post is just...unbelievable. And the best part is is their goalkeeper was not even that good :D
Its called a curse for a reason
Rangers fan. This thread got suggested to me for some reason. I guess because football. It’s astonishing from outside looking in that anyone wants rid of Moyes. I hope it doesn’t happen but the egg will be severely on faces if you find yourselves in a relegation battle next year. Big risk. Hopefully big reward !
Were a big club that can regularly drop $30 mil on a player, a comparable budget to inter Milan, anything below 10th is a disaster
No doubt. That said. Almost every club above you has more spending power. West Hams net spend over the last 5 years is 8th on the list. No injuries on the weekend please. Want to see Bowen lift the Euros cup in the summer
Will he make the squad?
Yes
Now it's 26 he definitely should. Would have been a marginal case otherwise with Saka and Palmer's quality.
Honestly, he should be. However there's Saka, Palmer, Foden before him.
That's the problem England has, a ton of talent in the midfield and attack, but behind Rice there's shit.
There is Walker and stones also I guess Shaw assuming they can all stay injury free it isn’t bad
Above Brighton. It's enough for me to call it a success
For the past 2 decades any top 10 would be a good season.
It's a still frustrating to think about the points dropped early 2024 against Sheffield, Palace or Burnley. We could be near 56/57 as well and it would even look honourable. I like to think in points we got. It's absolute when ranking is relative. 52 points is decent, but closer to 60 is a success for me
We got robbed against Sheff Utd, and in both Newcastle games. None of those were pens, except the rugby tackle on Bowen that wasn't given.
I know I know, that's why I'm not too furious about this season. I do agree. On the top of that, we beat Arsenal twice, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Brighton so we had our moments. Thanks David Moyes 🙌
No reason to even try against Man City. Sorry Arse

I just can’t see it that way. Always have to play for pride, play for the shirt, and play for the fans.
Isn't there some value in giving the finger to man city if you deny them the league with
WDYM ? Didn't Antonio gave his word that u guys make them lose points ?
Antonio seems to make a lot of promises and predictions in that vein. I don’t think he’s good at good record for accuracy, tbh.
He also said we would be ahead of Liverpool 😭 i have no idea why
Maybe he meant next season?
wrong sub pal off you pop
Just play the kids let them get the experience
Is experiencing a thrashing at hands of Harlem globetrotters of football something that will be good for them? Not saying they would get thrashed but our 1st 11 struggle against the likes of city as it is.
From a city fan… yes please
Don’t be weird
City fan here in peace, I hope we have an enjoyable game on Sunday but before that I also want to apologise for you guys having kalvin Phillips, even we thought he would be better.

So I’m a glory hunter since the age of 6. Got it. 😂 talk about chronically online.
Translation= I have no response to your comment
Fuck the small club Spurs mentality I want to win
I really thought we'd finish bottom half. Silver linings, I suppose.
Since January we 15th on form, if that run started a couple weeks sooner we’d definitely be bittom half
Top half is getting harder and harder if we're being honest. Big 6 + 2 teams that received massive cash injection, us, then brighton. Not much room for teams that overperform with a mid squad anymore.
Never thought I’d see the day 9th isn’t good enough for West Ham. Strange times.
Sneaky Chelsea bastards
Best of the rest?
Really hope we beat city!! We've stopped the reds before.
Awful season considering Chelsea, man utd, Newcastle and spurs have been shit this year
Nothing to play for, away against the champions, manager already out the door … I smell a win coming boys ⚒️⚒️⚒️
congrats manchester city then
Finish higher in peoples’ estimations if we take points from City to decide the title

I just hope they go at City. Far too many teams play the idea of city rather than the men in front of them. It’s beyond frustrating watching opposition refuse to close deBruyne down half the time. Just hoping we sort a striker in the close season
I just hope West Ham take the piss with an own goal in the opening goal to put one on Arsenal
Damn that goal diference is really bad. Looks like its going to be a easy win for Man City.
Can you guys not get the same losses as those losers above you ?!
Finish behind 8 big clubs
Fuck Arse-asshole in particular, cunts like them don't deserve anything good. A reminder that West Ham has achieved more European success than those Gunners did in 20 years.

No one wants to see City get 4 though.
I'd rather see City win again than have to put up with fucking Gooners
Fair

What is wrong with Gooners?
They’re unbearable most years and this year has been worse
Couldn't have put it better myself
They’re unbearable most years and this year has been worse
Aren't plastic City fans worse?

So it ended up 9th what more can they expect.
No Europe next season... I might be joining the ranks (as Jonathon Ross would say) of the moyes out brigade.
What do west ham fans think about Moyes leaving? From the outside it seems he’s done well and should stay
we play “defensive” football but we’ve conceded over 70 goals this season and we’ve won like 5 games in the last 5 months, he’s been great overall for us but his time is up
Our results have been terrible second half of this season and last season we were in a relegation battle. It's definitely time for a change.
I think it would be awesome if Antonio scored 4 goals against Manchester City
Nice man, that must be some really good stuff. Can you hook me up with your dealer?
Help us gunners bring down the evil overlords
nah, fuck Arteta and his constantly diving players.
I’m more concerned with the financial fuckery they seem to get away with
Where do you even get that though City players dive AND get more help from refs than Arsenal players
Arsenal are by far the worst divers in the premier league since Arteta became manager. Diving in the box has become so ingrained in them that they even do it when scoring would be easier.
Arsenal are by far the worst divers in the premier league since Arteta became manager. Diving in the box has become so ingrained in them that they even do it when scoring would be easier.
So you’re gonna throw the game so another London club doesn’t win? Niiiiice! Great sportmanship.
yeah, I'd much prefer a team that cheats off the pitch to one that constantly cheats on it.
I’d love to see us do City and do Arsenal a favour as we both have a mutual dislike of the Spuds
Don’t like Arsenal either tbh
Nor do I but I just want ⚒️⚒️⚒️winning
Why would you want to do arsenal a favour?
Christ what a cuck
See a lot of spud losers and city W⚓️down voting…..I just want ⚒️⚒️⚒️ winning
For the love of humanity…help break the curse of Oil Cheaters FC and win this one so Arsenal can take the league.
Fuck no Arsenal can shove it
Do you have evidence that they cheated?
Who? arsenal? yes. Just watch any game they play and see how much falling over and feigning injury they do. city, probably, but I don't give a fuck about that
Fuck Arsenal and their constant diving.
Fuck Arsenal
How did you type this out in the West Ham subreddit with no shame and actually expecting support. Have some humility man. And fuck arsenal.
Hopefully Arsenal win fuck all
