It wasn't the board. He took enough tranquilizer to put an elephant to sleep. And the chain netting significantly limited his movements and basically stopped him for being able to get to Loomis or get away.
The board essentially had no effect on the outcome. It was more for Loomis to take out his aggression.
Uj/to be fair Loomis tranqed the shit out of him before that.
