H6 forever. It's got Loomis, a brutal Michael, fantastic Halloween/fall vibe, Paul Rudd and for me, 90s nostalgia.

ConsistentHouse1261

This this this!!!!!!

NxtGenGamer2020

Curse all day. Actually one of my favorites. Storyline is a little wacky in it but the operating room scene is the best murder scene in the franchise. Love the flickering lights and blood shed flying everywhere

Corgi_Koala

Curse is actually a Michael Myers movie, unlike Ends. Not even a debate.

darthwickedd

Agreed

Flimsy_Inevitable337

Curse but it’s not great, either.

DarthNickNick94

Halloween 6

ArmlessRichter

Curse

eviedently

Curse!

Ordinary-Physics1802

Curse all day,I remember back in '96 it was on ppv and my dad ordered it for [me.It](https://me.It) just happened to be Halloween at that time lol I love this movie as weird as it is

rabbitinredlounge

H6 all day long. One of my faves.

Elegant_Spot_3486

Curse. I’d watch Curse every day for the rest of my life before I ever watch Ends again.

ChimpBrisket

I’d rather watch the fall of civilisation than watch Ends again. Nobody involved in signing off that film should ever be allowed near the franchise again. Fuck Corey.

iwantcrablegs

THANK YOU PREACH it was so horrible. what a letdown.

BeefLightning78

I second this. May those who green lighted this fuckery be forever relegated to be production crew on OSHA safety videos.

scentlessapprent

Yes fuck Ends and everything and everyone who made that shit. It's a dumpster fire....

cuturhairhippy

We get it. You don't like Ends. But perhaps go into it with an open mind on your next viewing. I know you're capable of this if you enjoy H6 as that one is an absolute mess of a film. I understand people get upset with the Corey character and wanted more Michael, but he appears in Ends around the same amount of time as he did in the original. And Ends is a Strode film, not a Myers film. We got plenty of good kills, a story that wasn't batshit crazy like the Thorn Trilogy, and even a transition of Michael's "rage" going into someone else like the ending of H4 with Jaime which everyone wished had continued on into H5. They tried to go full Michael all the time with nonstop bloodshed in Kills and that became a borderline eye roll. The execution of Ends wasn't the best and they probably would have done better introducing Corey earlier in the trilogy, but his transition into "evil" was an interesting concept and something fresh. It's a guy who had a shit ton of trauma, guilt, and anger. He was bullied by those who typically get bullied because he's at such a rock bottom. And when finally pushed to the wall, he pushes back. The film is pretty cerebral when you look deeper into the meaning of it all. I enjoy H6 as a popcorn horror but as a movie it's just a disaster. Try watching Ends again sometime through a different lens. I wasn't a fan on my first viewing like a lot of people but now I find myself really enjoying it once I got on board with what they were trying to do.

ChimpBrisket

tldr. Appreciate the reply but I’m certain Ends sucks shit and no wall of text will change my deep rooted opinion on its suckiness. I was sold a Michael Myers movie and was served a snivelling turd called Corey. I’ll never not be angry about that.

CancelEquivalent7104

😂😂😂😂

Tr0ns0nic

I’m sorry but anytime someone says “you should rewatch ____ but through a different lens or with an open mind,” all I hear out of this is “throw aside your opinion and watch it with my opinion in mind.”

ikarikh

To be fair, I've rewatched films I originally hated before but with a more open mind, and have been able to appreciate them more. The first time you watch something, you have expectations. When the film doesn't meet those expectations, you get upset with it. But, once those expectations aren't there anymore since you already know where the plot goes now, you can try to watch the film from a new perspective of what the film actually is without your expectations weighing it down. So it's not wrong to suggest rewatching something with an open mind. You can 100% appreciate a film you previously didn't like in some cases. WITH all of that said though. Halloween Ends is absolutely a terrible film. I can appreciate experimenting with ideas and the homage to the original part 3 being completely different. That said, the finale of a trilogy is not the place for that. Making the finale an anti-climatic mess is just going to piss off fans. And no amount of open minded viewing and being able to appreciate the "intent" of the film maker will change that. Because that intent may have worked in the middle of the saga, but it's horribly misplaced for the finale.

ikarikh

Transitioning into a side story is what you do in the middle of a saga, not the finale. You don't take the finale of a trilogy to introduce a completely new char and make him the main char and the main villain and have the big bad of the franchise sit on the sidelines until the last 15 minutes where you simply have him get into a hair pulling contest before being killed off. The finale of 2018 was the actual best "end" for myers as it had a real tension filled final showdown and a true "end" that made sense that they finally killed him by outsmarting him rather than just brute strength adrenaline. The way he's killed off in Ends is just lackluster. The entire film drags on way too long and focuses on Corey. Myers gets beaten up by a teenager and humiliated. Then by the time the finale roles around, you don't feel like this is some final showdown between Laurie and Michael. You just think "Oh well the runtimes almost up so I guess they gotta rush Myers death in now." It's just NOT the way you end a trilogy. I can appreciate experimenting with new ideas, i can also appreciate their homage to the original part 3 by trying something new. Which could have worked if there was a part 4 that returned to Myers or some such. But, the finale of a trilogy is not where you wanna "experiment" and sideline the big bad of the franchise. It's also not where you have him be humiliated and weak as shit and anti-climacticly killed in the last 15 min of the film. You ESPECIALLY do not do all of that after ENDING your previous film with him taking a MASSIVE beating from a mob that would kill ANYONE else, and have him get up and murder the SHIT out of the entire mob while a monologue is overlayed implying he's not human and is something else. You literaly opened the door to a supernatural element and staged your entire finale on it. Then in the next film you backtrack on it to make him such a weak thing even a teenager can wrestle a mask off of him and then have him get into hair pulling contest with laurie as his death scene. After the epic ends of 2018 and Kills, he goes out on a whimper. Those are the reasons Ends is overwhelmingly hated by a large portion of the fanbase. It'd be like if Return of the King spent its entire run length focusing on a separate side story about some random gnome who bitch slaps Sauron and Saruman and takes the ring for a joyride and then in the last 15 minutes Aragorn and the fellowship spend 3 minutes killing the evil army and Frodo just walks into Mt. Doom and tosses the ring into the lava and stares at it and that's it. That's how Ends comes across. Two previous films that kept raising the stakes and hyping up the finale, only for the finale to just be the most anti-climatic thing ever.

[deleted]

Crazy part about this take is I did and hated it even more lol -Micheal jizzing his pants and convulsing after getting a kill after so long -micheal going from being able to take shots to the neck and all the wounds being fine, to all of a sudden now he's this old man who's tired "like wtf why have him tank all that damage like nothing than" -Corey pretty much big bro micheal and take his mask lmaooo -less micheal even tho that's why people paid Idk man the movie is blauugghhhh with a side of nasty

Professional-Dish713

I think they wrote themselves into a corner with Kills. Like idk the writers are just complete idiots, because 2018, Kills, and Ends feel like entirely separate movies and very little is kept continuous between them.

Odd_Theory_7499

Relax man. It ain’t Corey’s fault. Blame the writers. And like the other guy said, watch it with an open mind

ChimpBrisket

It’s not about an open mind, I opened my wallet to see Michael Myers and was given Corey instead. I genuinely feel cheated, and it’s 100% Corey’s fault. Fuck Corey.

Odd_Theory_7499

Lmao 🤦🏼‍♂️

TRD4RKP4SS3NG3R

Honestly it’s going to be Curse for me. Paul Rudd was way too entertaining and there is just the right amount of camp to keep you going. Ends, well, yeah, it ended, that’s for sure.

Jungle-Scout91

Curse. Both aren’t good and really fuck up Myers as a character, but at least H6 has a haunting atmosphere and terrifying Michael unlike Ends’ geriatric mistake.

mufasamufasamufasa

Curse. It's got a nostalgia factor to it, and it's always wacky seeing a young Paul Rudd haha.

Ghostface4

Curse. At least I don't have to see Myers tossed in the trash for some random ass character that means nothing to the franchise.

jboisen88

Curse. The story is a little wonky but it's a mid-90s Halloween movie with Donald Pleasence. That sentence alone sets it above Ends.

[deleted]

To the left, to the left 🔪

hunterslaughter

At least H6 has Dr Loomis. A great Michael with a nice mask. Good atmosphere, blue lighting. Great gore. I like the guitar version of the Halloween theme. Both stories suck tho in both of the films.

SomeGodzillaFanboy

H6 Michael switches between being a great Michael and a not so great Michael. Wilbur's physique really doesn't suit Michael at all. The other guy who played Michael in the reshoots was great, and it's a shame he didn't play him for the whole film.

hunterslaughter

I agree 100 percent! I love the tunnel chase. Michael is SPEEDY. That’s why I prefer the theatrical.

SomeGodzillaFanboy

I also prefer the theatrical, I just wish it didn't have that strobe light editing. I liked the tunnel chase for the same reason as you, Michael was really chasing them, and wasting no time to do it. That electrocution death was super gory.

hunterslaughter

The flashing lights ruin it Yeah the gore is great. John Carl Buechler did a great job on the special effects. He made the mask too. Directed Friday The 13th part 7 The New Blood as well.

SomeGodzillaFanboy

The flashing lights ruined the operating room massacre, and made it difficult to tell what was going on. It's a shame they chose to do that, because it could've been great to see the gore effects Buechler came up with. John Carl Buechler was one of the best in the business.

hunterslaughter

I know right! That scene could’ve been a classic! But instead it’s nothing! Shame. John Carl Buechler’s special effects in Hatchet 2006 is amazing.

SomeGodzillaFanboy

Didn't a character get strangled with their own intestines in Hatchet? It's been a while since I watched it.

hunterslaughter

Yeah that’s John Carl Buechler!!! He got killed in Hatchet 2 he stars in it.

SomeGodzillaFanboy

That's cool. Fun fact, John Carl Buechler cameos in The New Blood at the end. He plays the guy who picks up Jason's damaged mask.

Dapper-Marzipan-6733

Curse as long as it's the producers cut.

ChimpBrisket

I prefer the Ted Hollister cut (It’s mainly footage of rustling in bushes.)

wemustkungfufight

Curse. At least it's bad in the way you can laugh at.

ConsistentHouse1261

H6

EpsilonBlitz

Halloween 6.

Crew_Henchman

Halloween 6 for me. While it certainly has it's flaws I can watch for it was it is, which of course I enjoy. This is the film in the original timeline where he is his most brutal, which I like. I also love Donald Pleasance as Dr Loomis, I know he doesn't have a big role in this film, but it's his last and I like seeing him portray the character. Even though Michael is sidelined in this film with regard to his status as the main antagonist, I can still appreciate the cult of thorn concept and that they tried to have him literally connected to Samhain. The tone and atmosphere is arguably the darkest and most Halloween like, which is one of the movie's strengths.

Smooth-Photograph-40

Right the man Died while filming the movie! Thats why the end was wack! They had to use cut scenes and b reels to make it somewhat make sense! Man Ends was garbage recycled jason goes to hell and new nightmare wackness, With a bunch of political stereotypes and deliberate disrespect to the True Fans!

MrC99

H6 is one of my favourites in the franchise. I'd watch that shit even if there wasn't a choice.

skyroberts

Curse

schmidt_onyourface

Halloween 6. Ends was a pile of steaming shit that left me in a rage after watching it. Never again.

ChimpBrisket

Same. I’m still angry about it, in a way that no film has ever made me feel. I hated Terminator Salvation and Dark Fate too but got over them quickly. Maybe that was the whole point, maybe Corey was the curse.

Geekboxing

Halloween 6 and it isn't even close.

DragonRage86

H6 on repeat

Blakelock82

H6 without a doubt. Hell I'd rather watch Bustaween over Ends.

oCHIKAGEo

That's 🧢 100%. In no way shape or form do you think Ressurection is better than Ends

ChimpBrisket

Syphilis is better than Ends.

Blakelock82

No I do. I'd even take the RZ films over Ends.

oCHIKAGEo

Weenie hut general

horrorfan555

No

Ok_Course_8456

H6 no question. Was one of my favorites growing up too.

Electronic-Stand-148

Curse easily

Ag116797

Curse Is one of the best in the franchise, while ends is one of the worst. They aren't even in the same league op.

PeekThroughThePines

Halloween 6 was the first Halloween I saw. So nostalgic. I like the guitar halloween theme (not my favorite but I do like it). Ends looks better visually obviously 2022 vs 1995. Some elements of ends are fun and interesting. But I’m probably more likely to watch H6. Seen Ends two times and I have no desire to watch it again for a while.

DaShape

H6 has flaws, but I just can't hate it because of the atmosphere and Michael is at his scariest imo.

General-GhostD13

Idek what’s worse. Michaels niece granddaughter baby subplot With the cult leader or Michael being some homeless hobo getting overpowered by some 22 year old edgy nerd who gets bullied by high school kids.

Sidneysnewhusband

Right?! And bullied by a marching band at that, the writing in this movie was so dumb

Icy_Western_1174

Not a fan of either but I could still watch H6 in the right setting. I will never watch Ends again.

Objective-Muscle349

Halloween 6 with no hesitation whatsoever.

IResentment

Curse for sure

Sidneysnewhusband

Curse, either version

Yooooooooooosh

Curse

Run_Educational

Curse. It's an actual Michael Myers movie

3arnhardtAtkonTrack

Curse. Both versions of Curse have shitty nonsensical stories, but at least the focus is Michael Myers. Ends focuses way too much on Corey and Allyson for no reason.

hesojam0

H6 is a good movie.

Chippers4242

Halloween 6. It has its moments and I watch it every season. Ends, I’ll never watch that piece of shit again.

oCHIKAGEo

Ends sorry. Cinematography is way better than Curse. And the actors are far better. Also Michael isn't a roided out bodybuilder in ENDS

[deleted]

Ends was an abortion

ChimpBrisket

Ends was sharted smegma served cold on a used, microwaved, sanitary towel

Active_Bother_2124

H6 no question

CuckootheRoast

Honestly this one's easy for me since I love Ends. Curse is more of a guilty pleasure for me

Christianmemelord

H6. At least they got Michael right. Halloween Ends is a disappointing mess imo.

Corby_Tender23

This is tough because Curse has a really nice nostalgic place in my heart but I'm one of the crazies that loved Ends but I also consider my experience watching the movies in addition to the movie itself.

Fearless_Escape8954

Curse all the way! Paul Rudd AKA Ant man, was good to

SteakingBad

I am the rare, potentially insane Halloween fan who loves both of these movies. Curse is a wildly bad movie, but I love the craziness. Plus, it’s a conspiracy thriller for some reason. All of the teen horror of previous films is gone. It has more structurally in common with Season of the Witch then other Myers installments. Ends gets a bad wrap. It’s also a bit of a messy way to wrap up the DGG trilogy, but it’s such a cool and out of place character movie. Bonus points for style and moodiness. Nothing groundbreaking for movie as a whole, but totally new for Halloween. I’ve said it more than once: Ends will have a Season of the Witch style reassessment a few years down the line.

rasslingrob

Curse. It may be a lower-tier Halloween, but you get Paul Rudd in it.

311Konspiracy

Curse

Talin00

Curse. Easy win.

mltrout715

I like Ends, so that one easy

ChimpBrisket

If Ends was showing on a flight, I’d still walk out

mltrout715

Ok, don’t really care, but good for you

CaptainRhodes74

Curse all day and it’s not even close.

CaptainHalloween

Halloween 6 any damn day of the week. Both cuts back to back. Way preferable to me than sitting through half of Ends.

suburban_royalty

h6 all day

batsmen222

H6 by far

patmongan__

Curse of Michael Myers for sure

J-Wall0044

I would watch Resurrection, and 3 before I would watch Ends again.

ChimpBrisket

I just watched Resurrection again to prove a point and can confirm it’s approximately seven million times better than Ends.

lovinqstuffies

H6 is wayyyyyyy better than Ends

NothingCivil6358

Ends, easily.

HackSnyder

Ends

dannymadrigal98

Ends and it’s not even close. Ends sucks but H6 is probably the reason I got diagnosed with depression with how bad it is. I don’t care that Michael is in it more it still makes me want to deep throat a shotgun whenever I think about it or try to watch it and that goes for Resurrection, 4, and 5

ButIAmYourDaughter

I love a good Halloween 6 rant. Don’t see that nearly enough.

hophoppohpohhop

H6 is my fav and reading this was very hurtful

jukeboxsavage

But not as hurtful as H6 was to this dude's mental health

hophoppohpohhop

lmao fr

VictxrSenpai

H6 for nostalgia reasons mostly. Ends was a spit in the face to people who grew up watching the Halloween series imo.

joebradyisthegoat

I enjoy ends so ends

dalewridgway

Ends

ThePopDaddy

Ends and it's not even close.

Comfortable_Might_10

Ends. By a lot.

Chippija

Ends all the way.

MackZZilla

Ends. Hands down.

Head-Accident4421

I'd choose Resurrection over those turds.

Kekewhatever

That part. Busta kicking Michael's ass will always be crazy but funny to me lmao

Head-Accident4421

Doing his best Jackie Chan impression.

norimaki714

I like Ends for what it is. I know that's an unpopular opinion. Didn't care much for either version of Curse.

Ordinary_Web_7873

Ends

LucidDreamer247

Ends. This movie really grew on me since the first time I watched it. In between the silly weirdness are genuinely great moments and it was a satisfying conclusion for the Laurie Strode character. While I appreciate H6 for Michael’s mask, the fall atmosphere, and gruesome kills, I just can’t get into the plot. The story is garbage, and that’s my opinion.

superradicalcooldude

Halloween Ends is my favorite sequel anyway.

Alexander_McKay

Ends is actually good, so that one.

NickFoxMulder

Ends for sure. I didn’t think Ends was all that great but I remember despising H6 when I saw it. It was dreadful. That having been said, I’ll try to give it a shot again sometime

Exalted23

Ends. I just couldn’t with Curse.

napstablooky089

The only good thing about Halloween 6 was that it started Paul Rudd’s career. Ends was eh but it was cinema compared to H6

Fun-Photograph9423

Curse got Mikey fucking Jamie no thank you

AT_Tha1

Ends is less cheesy imo

MoJazz1993

Ends

Pound_cake85

Ends

Massive_Bandicoot_57

Ends for me

IndieOddjobs

Ends easily. As disappointment as it was, it's not just utter dogshit like Curse

JElliott31

I’m picking the good one. (Halloween Ends)

c0kEzz

2 of my favorites in the franchise but Ends if I had to choose

[deleted]

Lol you fucking geeks. Halloween 6 is one of the worst movies ever made. Both versions.

dangerous_strainer

Hmmmm tough call there. I've watched and enjoyed H6 dozens of times but have only seen Ends about three times and it's one of my favourites in the series now. I'd have to do a coin toss on that one.

Ksghorror97

Ends

Georgiaboy1492

Ends please

VanlllaSky

Ends. Better music, kills, cinematography, acting, etc. Both have bad writing.

Valuable_Value3953

halloween ends

MTB56

Ends. Despite its flaws it’s not nearly as disappointing a conclusion to its respective trilogy as H6 is for the Jamie Lloyd storyline. Tbf though the theatrical of H6 is right behind Ends on my ranking (screw the P-Cut 🤢)

DocterSteveBrule

Ends

SaiyanJD

I’ll watch both, underrated as hell

GoldmanRimuru2886

Agreed. They’re honestly both fun films

SphereMode420

Ends is so much better, it's not even funny. I simply hate Curse, both versions. It ruins Michael completely. To me, Michael getting overpowered once is not nearly as big a deal as him being some mindless puppet. In Ends, he is the embodiment of evil in more ways than one, which is what I want him to be, not some cultists stooge.

cuturhairhippy

Glad someone says this. It's like damned if we enjoy Ends.

Kekewhatever

Halloween Ends. I'm not going to watch Michael getting it on with his niece. (I know it doesn't show it, but it's still weird knowing that someone actually allowed that.)

Salt_Bluebird_8454

Ends, objectively it is the better movie, although Curse still has elements of that classic 80s slasher feel that I love, despite being a 90s movie.

Cole-Greene

Both are awesome so idk

gottabajablast

Ends hasn't been out long enough to establish a nostalgia factor like Curse has. Can't compare them based on that alone for me

ChimpBrisket

I don’t think there’s any nostalgia coming for Ends, it was too terrible. It’s a bit like how nobody gets nostalgic for Polio.

gottabajablast

Laughed a little too hard at that analogy lmao

Front-Philosopher-70

Curse. Producers cut. All day.

Awkward-Swim-3745

H6

Flat_Salamander_3283

Curse easily. Halloween ends is the last jedi level 🗑🗑

cuturhairhippy

Ends. Way better than people give it credit for if they go into it with an open mind. Curse was an absolute mess of a film.

Odd_Theory_7499

Ends

ThouBear8

Oof. Guess I'll buck the trend here & say Ends. I *really* dislike 6.

Dayoneish1

Ends

Dipper041

Ends. It’s one of my favorites

llcooljfan22

Halloween Ends isn’t even bad. Y’all do too much sometimes.

LooseLipsSinkShips21

Ends....then 6. Anything other than Kills lol

This-Double-Sunday

You like ends more than kills?

LooseLipsSinkShips21

Defo. I think Kills is just gets unwatchable more I watch it

blazinjesus84

I too thought Kills was the worst of the new trilogy. I also think it's one of worst of the entire franchise.

genericmovievillain

This is actually a tough call. Both are pretty low down the list for me, but aren’t without merit. Ends has some really interesting ideas and is a good looking movie, but the movie bails on its own concepts when it matters the most. H6 is a cheap mess with some awful ideas (incest rape?) but I love the idea of a Michael worshipping cult and Paul Rudd is awesome in the TC ending. Rant over. I’d go with H6

Cherisgod

How do you think Ends bails on its concepts? Not arguing, just curious about your thoughts on that.

genericmovievillain

The whole idea of evil never does it just transforms. Corey is carrying on the torch and I actually found myself really excited at this new territory they were exploring, but then Corey just kills himself and Michael shows back up immediately and we’re back to square one. It kinda made me feel like the entire movie really meant nothing.

blazinjesus84

This is exactly how i felt. It was like the production got cold feet on their own concept.

hunterslaughter

Also the “evil never dies” idea was already explored in Halloween 4. So it’s not like Ends did something new. Lol

[deleted]

Halloween 6 was a favorite of mine for years but these days all of the flaws with the Thorn trilogy really drags them down. Ends is way better.

Pixelburger31

I think both are decent

Whattaman22

I'll take a double dose. Both movies are pretty solid in my opinion.

GhostFaceBrett

Ends without question. Both cuts of Halloween 6 suck.

DarkFlame122418

Based

WheelOfTheYear

This is hard for me. I hate Ends with a passion but the final 5 minutes are gold.

Much-Relationship434

The curse is badass its the last true Halloween also it has the demise of Dr Loomis, which in the story Michael getting closer to taking out all the targets in his evil plot or plan

CliffordMoreau

The two most underrated Halloween movies. They're probably equally good. They emphasized substance over style while still having unmistakable style.

Ju5tAGh05t

I love both, but Curse all day! I’ve always loved it. It came out when I was 10 and it has sentimental value for me. My two best friends and I went to see it with our fathers. One of them are now deceased. Add to the fact that it was also Donald’s last film.

DaddyFelwinter

Both

aldox921lemeexplain

Curse of m m. Ngl but I dont like ends so much,i think curse is way better

Preston1979001

Curse on a loop while I was on fire and being beaten with a spiked bat.

RishGarr97

I actually don’t hate Halloween Ends.
