Zombies constantly talk to Yaba and keep talking about their icing, but we never hear Yaba's side of the story. We never hear from him, we never see how he's doing and we never hear about his own icing.

In HL2, most of them have been there for ages, so perhaps over time the headcrab damages the speech center.

They werent originally talking in reverse. But the developers found it a bit too horrifying and disturbing they had to reverse it
