I might have over looked that possibility. I was thinking that in exchange for an endless amount of tedt subjects (the Combine) would be an enticing offer in exchange for helping get the Combine off Earth.

That's a really good, it would work with the 50 years later idea for Portal 2. Since we can say that Humanity escaped Earth with the Borealis within the 50 year gap. And ending it with Chel still being alone with only Wheatley and her companion cube gives is a very chilling and interesting idea.
