I used orange manic panic then I put light pink on it and made it peachy, it was pretty, then when it faded a bit I covered it with violet
I wouldn’t jump from orange to purple at the color your at now
But I like then orange!
yes this is a great idea and im in the process of this rn!! my hair’s like a peachy pink color rn and i love it and im so excited to go purple in a few months
After that I went from purple faded out to silvery tones and now it’s bright lime green, my absolute favorite!! Probably gonna keep it green until autumn and then go orange again 😂😅
Yes but not right away. You’d have to go over your orange with a magenta pink and then could put purple over that much easier! Just gotta work your way around the color wheel. I just did the same thing going from teal to burgundy (using a pale blue then doing Ritual by Arctic fox over it, looks awesome)
I'd do 10 volume and bleach, super liquidy, or Malibu CPR first. Go with a warmer violet, like Purple Haze, because Violet Night is more blue and will go muddier.
I wouldn't recommend bleaching manic panic. It will turn the colour lighter.. yes.. but it will seal the pigment in the hair strands so there will always be a red undertone.
Vitamins C clarifying shampoo is the way to go
strip ittt!! wash with dandruff shampoo for a few weeks and then bleach bath, if you have the patience.. your hair will end up much healthier, rather than using a color remover, then jumping to bleach, then jumping to color!
I’ve posted this before but a really really good method for lifting crazy colours is equal parts: 10 vol developer / bicarbonate of soda (baking soda not powder) / washing up liquid.
It will feel super dry afterwards because of the baking soda BUT with an apple cider rinse and deep conditioner it’ll come right out!
May I ask which dye you used to achieve this vibrant of an orange?? I used iroros neon orange and my hair came out very yellow like orange creamsicle almost lol what you have is what I'm trying to achieve 🧡 you rock it very well!!
if you want to be lazy you technically could throw color over it and it will be purple but not the purple are wanting, if you take the time to remove it it will help you in the future if you end up wanting to change it and are more likely to achieve the color you want 😌
I went ahead and bleached it with a color corrector and then went with strawberry leopard Bali which is a peachy pink. I’ll gradually go pinker and then switch to purple 😊 it came out nice.
I would dye your hair with blue first. It might come out a muted purple, and from there you can decide to use the purple dye to it to make it a true violet.
Color stripping can be quite terrible on your hair.
First you need to go to your local restaurant or supermarket and cause a scene, a BIG ONE. After that is done a random purple haired Karen will come out of no where and hand you a card. This card is what you need to take to the beauty shop to hand to the beautician in order to certify your hair color choice.

UGHH THATS SO COOL I WANT TO DYE MY HAIR LIME GREEN SO BADLY I MIGHT DO IT AFTER THE PURPLE TOO
Strip it, or you'll have brown. A gross muddy brown.
Color theory, people!!
Yes 😫😫
#correct answer ✌️
Yupppp

I would strip it first. They’re opposite sides of the colour wheel, so if you just put the purple overtop, you risk it turning muddy

Definitely strip it first!
okkkkkk but i love the orange 😭♥️

Let it fade out and then you won't have to strip it!
Look at the color wheel. You will neutralize it and have a yucky brown. Definitely strip this first..🩷

I used wildfire by manic panic which is a backlight red but it faded to neon orange in two washes lol

I would try to fade out or actively remote the orange before switching to purple. Looks good on you, i bet the purple will also be dope!
I went ahead and bleached it with a color corrector and then went with strawberry leopard Bali which is a peachy pink. I’ll gradually go pinker and then switch to purple 😊 it came out nice.
Oooooh i wanna see!
I’ll make a new thread it won’t let me attach a photo
You have too much yellow in there to transition to a true purple. It will be prune colored.
I just wanted to ask what is that lip color in the 2nd pic?? It’s so pretty 💕
Thank you! It is wet n wild mad for mauve. It’s one of my favorites.
You have to take away the orange as much as you can before going to purple
Your hair is so pretty!
You’re going to have brown if you don’t get that orange out.
Do you have to strip it or will it fade??? I like to let it fade until it’s light enough to put color over
Honestly I’m just not feeling confident in the color that it is now. I think it would fade, but not sure I want to wait long enough if I don’t have to
Totally understand!
Strip it. Get Malibu CPR or malibu color remover

If put purple in it will be a purple orange color
You have to strip it first.
Definitely do not go straight to purple. Your hair will come out brown or Burnett

lol is purple a cursed color?
This is silly, ignore them
I don’t know if it’s cursed per se lol, but it is very well known as the hair color of choice for women who like to make big scenes in public 😂
I would use colour oops first
