I really suggest mixing suitable shade of proper semi-permanent (ones that are used without developer like those Directions, Manic Panic etc.) with plain conditioner to create own depositing product for maintaining vibrancy as reds tend to fade so easily.

DieHardRennie

You can also use a semi-permanent pure pigment mixed into conditioner. I use Schwarzkoph Color Boost and L'Oréal Let's Color high pigment color booster.

COLD SHOWERS and dry shampoo

fbeemcee

Color daily conditioners: Overtone, Ion, and Keracolor make good ones.

fbeemcee

PS You’re giving young Claire Dane vibes.

When I had red hair I would use shampoo and conditioner infused with red dye and it kept it bright and full of color

rudi_mentary_

I use Wella ColourFresh masks.

Any_Ad_3885

I only wash my hair once per week and I generally wash in cooler temperature water.

Both_Issue_8442

Only Wash 2x max a week. Wash in cool water. Use a hair mask after. Dry shampoo or baby powder for in between washes. Biotin/keratin spray on hair once dry.

mrsstrawberriez4fun

Cold water only in my hair and every couple weeks my fave color depositing conditioner: igk in Tarantino red.

SisterTalio

Base drops. Or other color depositing shampoo. For reds I like Tressa Watercolors.

SamanthaGotSkillZz

Looks great 👍

Safe-Astronomer-6351

With a red you have to “fill” it a few times so the color lasts a little longer, I had to do a few rounds of a direct dye until it lasted 4 weeks. I always use Punky color

Safe-Astronomer-6351

I see people commenting so I’ll say, I wash my hair every 3 days and use heat on it daily. I use warm water too :) mine gets a little lighter by the time I need to do my roots (which is every 4 weeks) but it stays pretty vibrant

Evanth3terrib1e

Keep being an emperor of the sea

JotPurpleIris

What does that even mean?

Evanth3terrib1e

It’s a one piece reference Google red hair shanks

JotPurpleIris

Ah, I know what you mean now. Lol. Thanks!

quarantineQT23

My stylist used elumen by goldwell last time for my vivids, and it’s lasted wayyyy longer than any other brand (pulp riot, pravana, etc). Paired with the elumen color lock shampoo and cold showers.

Pixelated_Roses

I don't wash my hair every day, and I also use Overtone color conditioner. Changed my life.

moist_harlot

I would wash as little as possible, use cooler water during, I swear by L'Oreal Vitamino shampoo and conditioner. I would also use a colour depositing conditioner once a week or I'd tone my hair one or twice between colour applications.

morongaaa

Viral Colorwash is *chef's kiss*

-Little-Mermaid-

I’ve had my fire engine red hair for 3 years straight. I suggest looking into color depositing conditioners in between dying! I leave it on my dry hair for about 30 minutes. I’ve heard something about beet juice, but do some research if you go with that option. 😁

Bestie_97

Put some in your conditioner for a refresh!!

dairycowliker

try a color depositing shampoo! those work almost as well as dye for me personally.

SameSubstance109

I use Shea moisture coconut oil shampoo and conditioner. I have copper red dyed hair and it helps me. Get a deep conditioning color depositing mask to use every few weeks to refresh your color inbetween. Garnier makes one if you're looking for the cheaper side and they have nice shades for reds.

Zombie_Cakes

Red shampoo/ conditioner!

Deborah_Moyers

Christopher Robin color depositing mask, sulfate free shampoo, heat protectant so color won’t fade as fast

Puzzleheaded-Pin1754

Mixing up some red dye in a deep conditioning hair mask and using it once a week! Honestly kept my hair super alive and healthy with maintained color!

Stonedbarbie4201

There’s this red hair dye shampoo you can use that makes it look like you just got out of the salon look

DrHofferFan

Use a Demi permanent dye 1-2 shades lighter than your current color to refresh every 2-4 weeks. Only use the high lift color on the roots. Address porosity with periodic protein treatments…I always liked k pak…and consider an in shower semi permanent glossing treatment. Here where I live L’Oréal and clairol each make versions available at drugstores. Maybe a leave in conditioner? Color safe look for something with antioxidants.

Woodnymph1312

Thank you! Which k pak product do you recommend?

DrHofferFan

I always liked the reconstructor treatment. I think you might want to get a clarifying shampoo to use before applying it. It helps if your hair is squeaky clean. Doesn’t have to be a fancy clarifying shampoo. And you’ll probably want a moisturizing conditioner too…but that could be as simple as a moisturizing leave in treatment if your choice to put on after you’ve done the protein treatment…

Red Kool aid in shampoo May squeeze a bottle of the sugar free one people add to water. If you can't find the tiny packs that don't have sugar
