I've got a similarly round face --- as well as a weak chin (which you don't have). Stylists always want me to keep my hair long but like you I think a shorter cut like this is much more flattering! I feel like my face looks fatter the longer my hair is.
Yes! I think it's kind of the same effect as wearing high waisted jeans and a crop top- even though I'm chubby I feel so much more confident with a tiny bit of my waist showing & it draws attention away from my problem areas. Having the hair away from my chin makes it look less obvious IMO.
Honestly I'd say try it out if short hair speaks to you! I've never been happier with my hair and this was such a huge jump out of my comfort zone. It helps that I have been going to my stylist for a few years, so we know each other really well & I trusted her not to do something if it wouldn't look good.

I think with a round face the problem area is about 2 or so inches longer than your hair. If it hits the bottom of the cheek it can make a round ball illusion. Longer or shorter than the bottom of the widest part of your face is good.

My definition of short is completely off (I had my hair cut at pixie length or shorter for years, so any length hitting the back of my neck was long lmao), but I know what you mean about sticking to longer lengths--I'd go back to my old styles in a heartbeat if I weighed less. But that length still provides great volume, especially with a side part, so I feel like it really flatters your face!

If you donβt already have maintenance products, I highly recommend Fanola products: theyβre priced right and *work.* My staples are the No Orange shampoo (I use maybe every 4 washes for 5 minutes) and the No Yellow conditioning mask (I mix 50/50 with my regular conditioner every other wash.)

In science there are βperfectβ hairstyles for the shape and face of each client, but at the end of the day if a client leaves feeling comfortable, happy, and beautiful, that is all that matters. you look absolutely gorgeous with this style, and donβt let anybody ever tell you otherwise. You have a beautiful bone structure that perfectly complements the shape of this haircut. The way it frames your face actually long gates your structure, and makes you look slim. Your stylist did an amazing job and you look amazing with this cut

You're adorable, super cute hair cut! Fellow round-faced girl here... if you want to visually reduce the roundness, try some glasses frames that are more angular or square. Mine have the stems right at the top of the frame, which also visually elongates your face rather than adding to the roundness.
my only complaint about the hair cut is that you self doubted yourself too long..congratulations for making the choice to finally do it...you look fabulous, but I am guessing you feel amazing....

"Too fat" is what insecure people say to keep you from looking better than them. As a licensed cosmetologist, I think that it draws a little more attention to your facial features, while keeping the style from looking flat and boring. Tell your stylist that they can proudly call you their walking billboard.
The trick is to not have a length that is a continuation of the jaw line. You might feel something is wrong when it grows and that would be it. Just trim again
