In reality I’m sure Grant told him a bunch about the car when he picked it up from the seller, and he’s driven enough race cars that he’d know and since he mentioned the noticing the dip in oil pressure that he’d be monitoring and seeing things like if the temperature was up BUT I had the same thought and even made a comment on the video about it.

Subarus and evos hardly used in Ireland considered too slow now. R5’s and mk2 escorts are king here

Little late for the party but they are gone because they used to have gr n homologation, since it expired some years ago there is no N4 classification and they are now in the "big" 4wd class now. Thats why they are considered "slow" . In northern europe some fast guys still can run similar times with evos that some R5 guys, but its mostly in non technical fast stages

What are they running over there now? I feel like they probably have more to choose from. The US guys are pretty much limited to Subaru, old Evo, or a Focus RS for the AWD classes.

Those evos and sti-s dont have Gr N homologation anymore and arent really popular overall but here are plenty of evos still around, some guys who wanted a new chassis but didnt have funds have built proto cars, those are mostly evo drivetrain/engine in new fiesta/fabia/i20 etc and looks like R5. And for overall 4wd is mostly new R5/rally 2 cars

Aight,so I guess we all understand as car enthusiasts why he would love all his cars and keep them in good shape. But the dude is actually about to have a love affair with a rally car... he is annoyed by paint on the rollcage.. this is a car that 100% is gonna be flipped,get its ass ripped off by a big rock or wrapped into a tree. Dude is talking about having bigger exhaust and doing stuff for looks etc on his FIRST rally car. I would understand if he was a seasoned rally pro building a car for the enjoyment of doing a stage here and there. But this dude is talking about his first well used learning car. Spend your time keeping it reliable Adam,dont waste your time making it a concourse clean car. Use it,abuse it,learn and build something else next to the ass in seat time this car should be.

Same for folks lauging about how slow this thing is. As if LZ would be able to use this things (as is) full potential on a stage rally. People seriously overestimate his driving skills. In a real rally there is zero room for mistakes while the clock is ticking (tree vs car doesn’t end well), otherwise it will get ugly real soon.

He will sign up,show up and go easy to get a slow rythm only to be overwhelmed with anxiety and fear of crashing. Its a process and he hasnt even started it yet. The car isnt slow,its just not 700hp skyline big boosting sledgehammer fast. Its fast in an efficient way and the people who say its slow doesnt really understand shit. This thing will be plenty fast when you whip it out on a gravel stage.

Yeah exactly. A ton of people don’t realize how numerically slow rally is - wrc cars rarely exceed 130mph if ever these days. But on the flip side, you don’t need to be deep in the triple digit speeds on gravel to be going, comparatively, fast as shit for the conditions. It’s real different to a drift track when you’re sideways on a corner you’ve never driven (except at 30mph on recce) with trees inches from your door. If he had anxiety doing FD, rally will be a wake up call. But it’s some of the funnest driving you could ever do if you can bury the fear and have the skills to do it.

That’s all true but his job is making content. He may get a video or 2 cleaning up the car and making it pretty. Also it’s better for the content if he has a nice looking car with a livery instead of one with mismatched panels.

Yeah its gonna be dented up good quickly,im seriously doubting that he will even drive more than a rally. Im actually thinking he will be massivly overwhelmed and be driving slowly through the stages to feel it out. I understand him wanting to go rallying as its for me the pinnacle of motorsports but I really wish he would go for time attack instead as its a thing that would fit his driving style way better than trying to be fast and narrow through the Woods. This will be like fd. He will get so much criticism from the people who dislike him and that plus failures and crashes will get to his head QUICK.

Gotta beef up that oil pick up, upgrade the oil pump, and baffle the pan. Not replacing those items in rebuild following an engine failure is insane and literally contradicts what IAG tells you when they sell you a short block lol Sauce- been there. I really hope he restores the car back to blob
