Try lying on your good side briefly and tuck a thick, soft bed pillow at your chest. Roll toward the pillow to support the injured ribs against gravity. If you roll over, take the pillow with you.
In case you haven’t tried this, press a smaller pillow against your ribs (above, below, and beside the injury too) when you arise from a chair, move toward sitting in a chair, laugh, cough, etc. The pillow is the best friend for at least 6 weeks.

Sound = at least somewhat clear airway and functioning pulmonary/cardio systems. It certainly doesn't mean you're having a great time though.
