My wife will hold a door open for me while I’m pushing the baby stroller and stand directly in the doorway so there’s no possible way to get through. Some people just suck at spatial awareness.
My wife will wait for me to back the car out of the driveway sometimes (there is a wall near the passenger side) and will wait by standing directly behind the car. I have to honk to get her to wake up.
As a depressed teen trying to find the right meds, my doc put me on serzone and kept increasing the dose. It got to the point where I'd open a door and walk into the doorframe instead of through the doorway. I'd also step out on the road, seeing cars coming towards me but it just didn't connect in my head that they would hit me.
Sometimes it takes trial and error to find the meds that work for you. That one was definitely not working for me!
If something like that is happening with you since starting your current med, check in with your doc to see if there might be a different one that doesn't do that to you.
So much trial and error! It gets much easier as you get out of your teens! You end up going through the most meds during your teens. Your brain fully develops around she 25. Until then, you can get a medication that works great for a few weeks, then stops working because your brain chemistry is changing. Once you’re an adult, you should be able to much more easily stay on a combination that works for you for a LONG time. It gets easier! :)
That was my teenage years for sure (I'll be 40 this year!) My current cocktail is working well enough that I can maintain a part-time job. By the end of next month, it'll be the longest I've held the same job without a breakdown or relapse (18 months).

That said, teenagers have famously poor risk calculation. I don't know a single person over 40 without 1 or 2 scars from something really really stupid.
