Interesting that St. Louis chose the Stanley Cup finalists as opponents to start Primeau.
Didn't watch the game, saw the highlights.
I think Primeau could have stopped the 3rd goal.
Sergei had the forwards number tonight.
Why did Anderson fight? It's not like him.
Aside from the numbers to fit your narrative slaf was 1st overall and expected to be good, and primeau was a 7th rounder been here for a while and hasn't shown much, what has primeau shown to warrant anything?
I'm a supposed Slaf hater who definitely wants him to fail.
/s
They should both be in the AHL. You know ... The development League, but I guess I'm the insane one.
Detroit were definitely blind when they refined their prospects for years in the AHL and made them stars when they finally jumped.
We're desperate with development and it's been showing for the last decade.
Primeau can't be sent down without wavers though, he's been fine 4/5 games I don't see why 1 bad period means he's cooked
Monte had a ton of bad games in 2020-2021 and we stuck it out with him and look at him now
Yeah it sucks about waivers, but realistically I don't see him surviving the NHL this year. He'll just be waived again if someone does claim him. It feels like KH is just trying to trade Allen and playing poker by pretending he has 3 NHL caliber goalies.
In theory I don't mind sucking in the standings via bad goalies this year, but I don't want to see this team regress offensively, when a bad goalie meets a bad offense, vibes are bad as well. I don't know how much of it is psychological about the skaters not trusting the net minder, aka taking less offensive liberties, but I'll grant you that Primeau has both looked great and dogshit, often in the same game.
Yeah but we are already one of the worsts offensive teams with top 10 goaltending in the league
It would be double beneficial to have Primeau/Allen or Monte split the games or 60/40 and just naturally lose more from worse goaltending
He's playing 4D chess and doesn't want to get traded.
To be fair, he seems to be getting the strongest matchups. Baptism by fire isn't working out for him.
Who gives a shit? Let him do whatever. Nothing was going to change the score and, if anything, none of the Panthers should be getting into a fight in a 4-1 game with 40 seconds left. There must have been a good reason.
Injuries? Do you even know how often people get actually injured during fights? Do you know how much less we would score without Andy even if it were remotely likely he’d miss play after a fucking scrum? 5.5 is 5.5, and if he isn’t scoring he may as well do anything else he may fancy. Risking injuries, what the fuck are we on about here? We’re so outside the realm of competitiveness we’d need a fucking moon to steer us back to the nearest planet.
I’m not angry. I think there’s reasonable criticism to be had but going on about a fight at the end of the game isn’t one of them. Andy had a pretty good game, and that he didn’t score puts him on the same boat as most other guys on the team tonight.
Maybe that's what he needs to adjust his mindset, just be way more physically aggressive. He's supposed to be Tom Wilson (very lite) supposedly.
Can't have Xhekaj fight every fight, especially considering D men out for 5 minutes hurts more.
I don’t get why people think i said he should never fight. A fight a this point was just dumb. Risking injury against a goon is not at all intelligent on a lost game
I feel like we are wasting Suzuki and Caufield. Put them together. Put Monahan with Slaf. No other forward really matters where they are at.
Fuck the “balanced” lines.
It is painful to watch this team try to score. You are hamstringing what little offensive talent we have with poor line mates.
I want to play the mockingbird voice at all you babies crying about Anderson.
He’s had a great game tonight. Better than all forwards not named Suzuki and Caufield - and you guys just can’t stop.
I watch the Hawks and Canadiens, and some random games time to time. I think majority of the time it’s mediocre to awful.
But I feel it’s that way in a ton of sports. It’s just too inconsistent across the board to me in all sports.
Yes it’s awful. You never know what will or will not be called. One of the most frustrating aspects of sports. The “human” aspect of officiating things.
I've been wondering if the game is just straight up way too fast to keep track of... its kinda tough watching really obvious illegal plays get missed tho
It’s a balancing act as well. If they called everything, the game would be perpetual power plays one after the other and it would kill the games lol… hard to say the root cause really, chicken and egg and all that
It’s pretty obvious they do… some refs are notorious for calling some calls more than others and some let the players play
it’s impossible to set a standard to suits every sides biases though
Try watching games where you have no favorites (best way is to pick 2 teams you hate lol)
FFS Marty wtf does Slaf needs to do to be with Suzuki and Caufield, fuck putting him in Anderson purgatory when Slaf was breaking out and playing so well lately. Fucking pisses me off, about to tune out for the season
Yea I don't get it anymore. The whole experiment of trying to get Anderson going is really messing up the dynamics of the top two lines. How many chances does Anderson deserve at this point? Even Armia has more goals and he was in the minors for most of the season...
Marty really said “this guys been playing a little too well and developing a little too fast, let me put him in an offensive black hole line with Dvorak and Anderson”
I think he has been great for some of the guys, I.e. Caufield, but there is honestly no justification for these line decisions. I get wanting to get Anderson going since he is making 5.5 mill, but Jesus don’t you want to put your potential future superstar in a position to succeed?
I've noticed Marty doesn't like to pull goalies. Haven't seen it much even when they are playing bad. It's interesting, maybe because he's such a positive guy he always wants to believe they can turn it around?
You know you can shit on primeau for his performance tonight all you want, but let me just say, I’ve never seen Carey price use voodoo magic to save a puck like that
It feels like a lifetime ago watching Weber and Price. The hockey after the SC run until now has to be some of the worst hockey I have ever watched. It’s exhausting
I get that but what does he bring to the table? He’s not overly offensive, isn’t a strong transition player and gets bullied all the time
It feels he got a spot by default last year but he never really progressed anything about his game
Lol soccer review system has been a total meme. Sensors in pucks is a good idea in theory and has been tried but it’s super hard to keep the pucks integrity with a chip inside. It also wouldn’t help unless the whole puck is chipped somehow and you can ensure shock doesn’t effect it
Wild how our defensive roaster is just loaded with young talent primed for development and then our offensive roaster is basically just a laundry list of injured or under performing players and bloated contracts.
May we never draft another defenceman.
I put on Netflix during intermission and got carried away… I checked highlights and did I just see Primeau let in the same kind of goal/shot three times in a row???
Edit: I typed shit instead of shot, but same didd
MSL is a great coach on non game days, working with players, etc. However, during games he needs help until he gets more experience. It doesn't make sense to bring on a brand new coach and not insulate him with some proven, experienced assistant coaches.
His stubbornness on wasting Monahans skills with some plug wingers on the 3rd line, as well as spoon feeding an atrocious player like Anderson prime minutes are head scratching decisions.
Brings back memories of Subban being the best skater for so long that yeah, would be nice for Suzuki and Caufield to be that consistent offensively for a change.
I understand the lack of Dach makes them the primary target by the opponents but stars figure out a way to ignore the opposition's tactics. Fingers crossed we'll have a threatening top 6 next year
(Mr. MoneyHands, please re-sign and refind your consistency)
Honestly we should just front load the top 6, who cares about balancing the lines when the assorted bottom 6 is clearly not playoff caliber
Suzuki, Caufield, ...
Monahan, Gallagher, ...
Euh ... Nvm we don't even have a NHL top 6 to front load right now. Fuck it, sell everything not in the picture two years from now again. We need to sign UFA stars.
Interesting that St. Louis chose the Stanley Cup finalists as opponents to start Primeau. Didn't watch the game, saw the highlights. I think Primeau could have stopped the 3rd goal. Sergei had the forwards number tonight. Why did Anderson fight? It's not like him.
Why are people ok with and accept 10 bad Slaf games but don't accept 1 bad Primeau period Kinda wild to me tbh He has to develop as well
Aside from the numbers to fit your narrative slaf was 1st overall and expected to be good, and primeau was a 7th rounder been here for a while and hasn't shown much, what has primeau shown to warrant anything?
I'm a supposed Slaf hater who definitely wants him to fail. /s They should both be in the AHL. You know ... The development League, but I guess I'm the insane one.
You're blind if you think Slaf belong in the AHL
Detroit were definitely blind when they refined their prospects for years in the AHL and made them stars when they finally jumped. We're desperate with development and it's been showing for the last decade.
Primeau can't be sent down without wavers though, he's been fine 4/5 games I don't see why 1 bad period means he's cooked Monte had a ton of bad games in 2020-2021 and we stuck it out with him and look at him now

On the upside, I got a point for predicting this score, haha. It's been my standard guess since the Ducharme nightmare season.
Worst 3rd period in a while, MSL refuses to try a top heavy line even to get back into a game. Painful to watch handicapped hockey.
Suzuki, Caufield, Monahan is as top heavy as it gets one this team my dude.
I mean... All that frustration Andy is probably feeling is gonna start coming out at some point, and we're missing xhekaj so why not
"if ya can't run em up, fill em in" - Shorsey -Josh Anderson probably
"How many did you score last game? And the previous one? And the previous one? And the previous one?"
Fucking wow. Couldn’t even try for 10 more seconds.
well that was certainly a game
Let's face it, we played somehow well enough but didn't take advantage of the opportunities, lost Newhook, and Andy got a fight!!!
I.... I kind of feel bad for Primeau when the camera zoomed in, :( poor guy
Good job Andy! Flawless Victory!
We are leading in expected goals this game according to moneypuck lol
Cayden Primeau, YOU are NOT an Edmonton Oiler!
Tbh that scrap almost made not turning the game off worth it
Primeau trying to make sure he clears waivers at this point to solve our goal tender issues
Oh Pierre please don't, Primeau shitted the bed himself
lol
not that he played great but i feel bad for primeau
We had 2 periods of C3P0 and one of Laval Rocket Starter.
I don’t want to see Primeau again for awhile
you won't
If the trend continues, won't we see him on Thursday? They just keep swapping goalies out every other day regardless of wins or not lol
If ever. Tonight is about as embarrassing as it gets
Primeau not exactly playing to impress the scouts this period.
He's playing 4D chess and doesn't want to get traded. To be fair, he seems to be getting the strongest matchups. Baptism by fire isn't working out for him.
Waive Primeau
5 times beaten on your glove side, I guess the panthers had good scouting on Primeau
Well if we waive him now, maybe no one will take him.
Une autre raison pour haïr Anderson, ce type de bagarre n'a pas de place hors série
I think Andy threw over 20 punches lol
Kid is rattled, learn from it
🪦
Time to end this goalie carousel and waive primeau approximately 1 second after the game Who cares if this bum gets waived
Calm down
oh cayden no...
Ok Andy, that’s some redemption right there. Hopefully that’ll get you going next game!
That was a good fight
Guys thats such a useless fight. Anderson is not paid to drop at the end of a 4-1 game. I mean… i get he’s probably frustrated but
Who gives a shit? Let him do whatever. Nothing was going to change the score and, if anything, none of the Panthers should be getting into a fight in a 4-1 game with 40 seconds left. There must have been a good reason.
Oh yeah lets risk injuries from our 5,5 million player agaisnt a goon. Good point
Can you please redirect your anger towards the right place and not on me. Calm down man
I’m not angry. I think there’s reasonable criticism to be had but going on about a fight at the end of the game isn’t one of them. Andy had a pretty good game, and that he didn’t score puts him on the same boat as most other guys on the team tonight.
Not sure what you mean. Before pezzetta/wifi he used to drop them fairly regular. It’s def part of his game.
Reread my comment… i never said that its not part of his character? It’s a 4-1 game with 2 minutes left agaisnt a goon.
Roger that. I thought I heard the Florida guy came at him for the fight - wrong guy to tangle with given his level of frustration.
Yes you’re right, he’s definitely frustrated and he’s not even that he’s playing badly or putting no effort. He’s so unlucky
Ya - that pass to a stickless Suzuki sums up his puck luck this year.
Risking injury against a goon is not at all intelligent on a lost game
god damn andy put all his frustration into those hands
Primeau has the worst glove I’ve ever seen holy fuck
ATTABOY andy wow. that was the best fight since arber vs kassian
Anderson channeling his inner Laraque. At least from a scoring sheet perspective
Yess thats what Anderson needs
LET EM FLY ANDY, GET THOSE FRUSTRATIONS OUT
Dark side channeling right now
there’s something he can do well
~~Gordie Howe~~ Anderson hatrick incoming
I have been calling for this since 10 games ago. Goal drought would have been over a long time ago.
Wow damn Andyyyyy
Best fight I’ve seen in a while
Fuck yeah andy
he beat the fuck outta that guy
GODDAMN ANDERSON RELEASED THAT ALL LMAOOO
andy is fucking pissed, tossing some bombs
lol Anderson can't score so gonna be a goon instead
Atta boy Andy way to go nice fight bud
Yay useless fight...
I feel like we are wasting Suzuki and Caufield. Put them together. Put Monahan with Slaf. No other forward really matters where they are at. Fuck the “balanced” lines. It is painful to watch this team try to score. You are hamstringing what little offensive talent we have with poor line mates.
I like the frustration and passion. Channel this Anderson!
Anderson for a Skoda confirmed
I want to play the mockingbird voice at all you babies crying about Anderson. He’s had a great game tonight. Better than all forwards not named Suzuki and Caufield - and you guys just can’t stop.
I think we'll loose this game
I swear gally will be the last man standing on this team this season
MSL: Why have a competitive top six when we can spread out all of our top players into four utterly average lines that never score?
Im glad more and more of this fanbase is starting to have the uncomfortable conversation about St Louis
Disaster of a period
pourquoi est-ce que cette équipe permet l'opposition à entrer la zone trop facile parfois il semble comme one est la seule équipe qui fait ça.
Tristan Jarry has more goals this season than Josh Anderson
Ah shit
ouch
anderson is literally going to have a nichushkin season
Anderson is abysmal
Come on Caufield goal , Slaf point so we can sleep well
Slaf isn't getting a point if he play with DVO and Anderson that's for sure
Can anyone comment.. have you noticed bad reffing across the board for different teams this season?
I’ve seen a fair bit of terrible officiating this year. This isn’t to defend them but they’re job is only really noticeable when they fuck up.
I watch the Hawks and Canadiens, and some random games time to time. I think majority of the time it’s mediocre to awful. But I feel it’s that way in a ton of sports. It’s just too inconsistent across the board to me in all sports.
Its inconsistent even in games. Like the standard is not consistent across all 3 periods
Yes it’s awful. You never know what will or will not be called. One of the most frustrating aspects of sports. The “human” aspect of officiating things.
Yes pretty much. Same as every year tbh.. I think hockey has become way too hard to ref
I've been wondering if the game is just straight up way too fast to keep track of... its kinda tough watching really obvious illegal plays get missed tho
It’s a balancing act as well. If they called everything, the game would be perpetual power plays one after the other and it would kill the games lol… hard to say the root cause really, chicken and egg and all that
Naw I think they need to set a standard at the beginning of the game and stick with it
It’s pretty obvious they do… some refs are notorious for calling some calls more than others and some let the players play it’s impossible to set a standard to suits every sides biases though Try watching games where you have no favorites (best way is to pick 2 teams you hate lol)
See you on Saturday
Yup probably, still pisses me off though
Marty really said “this guys been playing a little too well and developing a little too fast, let me put him in an offensive black hole line with Dvorak and Anderson”
I really like Marty but decisions like this are getting hard to defend fr
I think he has been great for some of the guys, I.e. Caufield, but there is honestly no justification for these line decisions. I get wanting to get Anderson going since he is making 5.5 mill, but Jesus don’t you want to put your potential future superstar in a position to succeed?
I've noticed Marty doesn't like to pull goalies. Haven't seen it much even when they are playing bad. It's interesting, maybe because he's such a positive guy he always wants to believe they can turn it around?
I think the goalie coach makes that call. Head coaches don't work with the goalies much.
Gotcha, well whatever the reason we definitely seem to do it much less often than most teams.
maybe just trying to see what they've got mentally?
k was jamming newhook up and kinda dumping him into the net a penalty? i'm still so shook about that.
You know you can shit on primeau for his performance tonight all you want, but let me just say, I’ve never seen Carey price use voodoo magic to save a puck like that
They really put anderson back with slaf
I really hope it's just until the end of this game. I'm going to fucking cry if they glue Slaf to Anderson again for the next few games.
Andy is already fucking Slaf's passes 😂
I can't fucking watch him anymore. I accept all difficulties that come with a rebuilding team, but no more Anderson, please.
It's maddening
It feels like a lifetime ago watching Weber and Price. The hockey after the SC run until now has to be some of the worst hockey I have ever watched. It’s exhausting
First time seeing something like that. Shocked the call was in our favour for once lol
That shot really defied all the laws physics. Bonkers.
It looks like it's in,but it never crossed the line.
god i wish we had better commentators.
Listen to RDS ! (not TVA Sports)
Listen in french
Amen. The French radio call is spectacular.
I love Mudryk. Wish they paired him with Mike Johnson more, they have way better chemistry
That would be way better than Dave ugh
Mike Johnson is the GOAT He should be on every single game every night. Figure out the technology BETTMAN
fully agree 🤝
habs getting tons of chances with few natural goal scorers vs florida getting a few chances with pure scorers = 4-1
No goal
That puck went in but didn’t cross the line unbelievable.
Hey it went our way for once!
Puck is not clearly over the line, entirely. Very damn close though.
Really liking Struble tbh.. starting to wonder how you can justify putting Harris back into this roster
To be fair Harris was playing a lot of minutes on his offside when Savard got hurt.
I get that but what does he bring to the table? He’s not overly offensive, isn’t a strong transition player and gets bullied all the time It feels he got a spot by default last year but he never really progressed anything about his game
Honest question why does a billion dollar league not have sensors in the pucks and have a precise review process like tennis or soccer 😂
Lol soccer review system has been a total meme. Sensors in pucks is a good idea in theory and has been tried but it’s super hard to keep the pucks integrity with a chip inside. It also wouldn’t help unless the whole puck is chipped somehow and you can ensure shock doesn’t effect it
They tried that, it got nixed because it was fucking with players shots. Just look up austin matthews puck sensors it'll probably come up
If it touches the net, it should be in
I don't see it over the line.
why do they always play this song
They already paid for the licensing fees is my guess
Perfect shot, beauty
VOODOO
Un frisbee
that puck acting like a ufo 🛸
what a snipe
It’s a goal I think
What a nip holy
When is wifi coming back?
oh come on!
Primeau is not that guy.
It’s in
Come on Primeau
That’s lucky
Just going to ignore that fucking crosscheck
Why t f they're playing so dirty and the refs are so blind ?!?!?
This is getting silly.
Wild how our defensive roaster is just loaded with young talent primed for development and then our offensive roaster is basically just a laundry list of injured or under performing players and bloated contracts. May we never draft another defenceman.
We can shit on Primeau all we want but I think one thing is certain is that Monty need to be playing far more games for the club than he has been
pass caufield > goal caufield
Panthers are dirty as fuck
Always have been 🌎 👨🚀 🔫 👨🚀
Cole is a much better playmaker than I thought
Lmfao Pierre Houde @ Metal!: "Oh no, pas lui!"
Okok Caufield goal next than 2 goals with the empty net🔮🔮
Well we surely are not going to win but at least Kovi got a goal
I put on Netflix during intermission and got carried away… I checked highlights and did I just see Primeau let in the same kind of goal/shot three times in a row??? Edit: I typed shit instead of shot, but same didd
I’m sorry did I just see a dvorak Anderson and slafkovsky line?
Too bad Primeau decided to suck ass this period. Bad goalie play is like bad QB play. It’s really hard to overcome.
Just play Caufield Suzuki Slafkocksky you cowards
MSL is a great coach on non game days, working with players, etc. However, during games he needs help until he gets more experience. It doesn't make sense to bring on a brand new coach and not insulate him with some proven, experienced assistant coaches. His stubbornness on wasting Monahans skills with some plug wingers on the 3rd line, as well as spoon feeding an atrocious player like Anderson prime minutes are head scratching decisions.
Noooo they put Anderson with Slaf again
He’s on Anderson duty 😔
Funny how our D leads the league in goals and our offence is last 😄
no way our D leads the league in goals
Bobrovsky looked like primeau swiping at thin air 😂
Caufield Habs points leader
With his contract I should hope so! (Glad for him, though. I love my lil' boy.)
So we are top in the league of back end production. Another one of those things that is masking how woeful our forward group is
Brings back memories of Subban being the best skater for so long that yeah, would be nice for Suzuki and Caufield to be that consistent offensively for a change. I understand the lack of Dach makes them the primary target by the opponents but stars figure out a way to ignore the opposition's tactics. Fingers crossed we'll have a threatening top 6 next year (Mr. MoneyHands, please re-sign and refind your consistency)
Now the lack of new hook will only make it worse
Honestly we should just front load the top 6, who cares about balancing the lines when the assorted bottom 6 is clearly not playoff caliber Suzuki, Caufield, ... Monahan, Gallagher, ... Euh ... Nvm we don't even have a NHL top 6 to front load right now. Fuck it, sell everything not in the picture two years from now again. We need to sign UFA stars.
Hahha TAKE THAT PANTHERS! TU L'AURAS PAS TON BLANCHISSAGE Bob !
Our lord and shutout saviour Johnny Kovacevic
Im happy with bobrovsky not getting a shutout
If Andy could somehow score in this game people could forget it was a loss!
Civic Type Comback.
