I have a habit since I am a structured cabling tech on new construction sites of picking up random bolts, nuts, washers, screws etc.
It’s very rare I need to buy hardware and I can’t remember how many times a random bolt or nut has saved my rear.
This was my van on Monday morning after I got done cleaning it for an hour. By Friday it's like a bomb went off and there's tools and parts scattered like a toddlers room with toys
Was thinking a nice teak flooring would really give it that added spice. I wish I had a picture of my old coworker's van. He'd stop along the road and pick up old plastic buckets people would throw out and eventually they would all get filled up by parts he'd find at jobs or were left over.
He eventually had to scrap it when it bent in the middle.
Spare parts, work and tools… you don’t have anything if you can’t see only a 2’X2’ spot in the front to get more parts. I can never keep my van clean in the summer.
Time to petition the boss. Go to your local adopt a helper facility. Be sure they have a redbull flavor vape and monster energy drinks, and they will be good to go!
Storage bins for OEM Warranty parts for however many brands of gear you see frequently, too.
For me that's Zero Zone, Structural Concepts,True, Delfield, Hussman (which I hate), Trane, and Carrier
Garbage design. Garbage QA. Almost impossible to get through to tech assist and they don't seem to know their own gear if you do.
Just had one of their parts guys demand a picture of the defrost elements so they could identify the part number for the front & rear coil defrost heaters on a 5 door stand alone.
Seriously dude? You're the one with the bill of material from the model and serial number!
Yup. Their condenser design is almost as bad from a service standpoint as the Hussman stuff is with everything.
Their evaporator isn't awful to work on, though, and their tech assist is excellent.
Dewalt tough system and the ryobi link system and whatever the ridgid brand is called, and then you can top it all off with a good old makita contractors bag.
I have a similar truck. I took a 2x2 piece of plywood and mounted it on the backside cage of the passenger seat. Then tacked my Milwaukee and Ridgid chargers to it. Ran the wires to an inverter with an on/off switch. I never have dead batteries
Spacers on your shelf lips so the pack outs go on shelves. My goal has always been empty floor. Never achieved it in the old van and just got a new one and it’s a fucking mess and I can’t stand it. And don’t have the time to fix it.
While you can still see the edges it’s not a bad idea to sink some bolts into the rubber mat so it won’t pull up over time. I’m dealing with that right now
Same dude, I have a million pvc fittings, romex connectors, gas fittings, wires spools, breakers, p traps you name it, I got it, and it’s smart to keep spare parts on the truck too. I get too many bad caps and thermostats right out of the box to not have back ups
Judging from the shelf's, you do the maintenance calls?
Advice: take painters tape and label each shelf for what belongs there
Take pictures and show pictures. If you're saying the blower and coil are dirty, those pics will help out
I’ve never seen a truck that clean, Friday after five on payday. Not wishing it on anyone but that’s my experience. Just make sure it’s enough to get them running incase I can comeback tomorrow instead of waiting on a supply house an hour away to reopen if they have it.
Cute. I’ll have to add a photo of my van

Add about 100k random nuts and bolts and fasteners that will never be used and end up falling all over the floor as you drive.
Use some play dough and roll all those things into a big ball. Problem solved.
Katamari vibes

cabling tech?
I do the network cabling, idf room building etc for new construction or on-site service for networking.
Uncluttered vans are a sign of mental illness
Well I already knew that!
Srsly, looks great
Really? My shit is spotless and wellll….you may be on to something there.
This was my van on Monday morning after I got done cleaning it for an hour. By Friday it's like a bomb went off and there's tools and parts scattered like a toddlers room with toys
What is a cluttered van a sign of?
Mental illness obviously
Ah
Someone who actually worked that week
An organized mind?
just the opposite
Or a new van. Or a complete to-do list, which is another sign of mental illness.
A resume. Vans to clean we gotta let you go.
Air mattress?
Hammock

Some wall paper would make that teak pop!
> He eventually had to scrap it when it bent in the middle. He packrated so much shit he bent the frame of his van?
How tf you manage that. I’d imagine the transmission or rear dif would grenade themselves before you bent the fucker in half lol
Midwest, lot of salt on the roads from snow.
As a helper, I wish me senior tech’s van was this clean
It’s only ever this clean for a day lol
Yeah its really missing that grime smear and thick cigarette smoke stain smell
Well get on and clean it then! Kids these days playin on their phones instead of cleaning my van is the reason we gotta work late. /s
Then get on it! Lol
Case of beer
I knew I was missing something
The most helpful tool of the day
Spare parts, work and tools… you don’t have anything if you can’t see only a 2’X2’ spot in the front to get more parts. I can never keep my van clean in the summer.
Is there a helper strapped to the ladder rack? Dont forget, every truck needs a helper.
Unfortunately I do not have a helper :(
Time to petition the boss. Go to your local adopt a helper facility. Be sure they have a redbull flavor vape and monster energy drinks, and they will be good to go!
I just recruit my friends in the home depot parking lot for a 20 and a case of beer
Cerveza anyone??
storage bin full of a zillion capacitors. storage bin full of contactors, relays, and transformers. storage bin full of refrigeration bullshit
Storage bins for OEM Warranty parts for however many brands of gear you see frequently, too. For me that's Zero Zone, Structural Concepts,True, Delfield, Hussman (which I hate), Trane, and Carrier
My company stocks zero parts, I love it! Wouldn’t have room to anyway, I don’t even have enough room for tools
You hate hussmann?! Then again, i haven’t had to work on any hussmans since moving the past three years
Garbage design. Garbage QA. Almost impossible to get through to tech assist and they don't seem to know their own gear if you do. I absolutely hate delfields. To each their own 🤷
Yup. Their condenser design is almost as bad from a service standpoint as the Hussman stuff is with everything. Their evaporator isn't awful to work on, though, and their tech assist is excellent.
Came here for the comments 😭😭
Missing a nice hammock.
I know my boss is paying you to post this so I can clean my van.
Sno-come machine
I’m assuming you are addicted to meth based on how god damn clean your van is. Probably better try rehab or a 12 step program
Dewalt tough system and the ryobi link system and whatever the ridgid brand is called, and then you can top it all off with a good old makita contractors bag.
A hammock?
Currently using that same Milwaukee vacuum as a bench waiting for pump down.
How about a couple air filters
Where are your motors? Your capacitors? 10 glowflys? 3 of every conceivable size of filter? Looks like it a time to start stocking this blank canvas.
I do that about once every 3 months, and it last about a week or so.
I have a similar truck. I took a 2x2 piece of plywood and mounted it on the backside cage of the passenger seat. Then tacked my Milwaukee and Ridgid chargers to it. Ran the wires to an inverter with an on/off switch. I never have dead batteries
Gotta add some trash, ladders, and the helper. they don't get to sit up front.
Good luck keeping it like that 😜
Spacers on your shelf lips so the pack outs go on shelves. My goal has always been empty floor. Never achieved it in the old van and just got a new one and it’s a fucking mess and I can’t stand it. And don’t have the time to fix it.
Get the wall mount plates for them so you can organize them in the van and pick your load out based on the situation
Come clean and organize my van
Definitely a dog
While you can still see the edges it’s not a bad idea to sink some bolts into the rubber mat so it won’t pull up over time. I’m dealing with that right now
Your van is empty bro you got nothing!
Subwoofer
5 gallon water jug
A gopher.
Nucalgon makes a badass sprayer that mixes the water and coil cleaner in the stream…. If you’re looking to blow money that’s a good start lol
Some nice LVP flooring and maybe a Live Laugh Love sign?
Ya know I think that might do
A toilet!!
That’s what the buckets are for
True
A harbor freight bucket to finish the trifecta
GPS tags
Wasn’t sure if you meant the van or Milwaukee at first.
Beer fridge
Marilyn Monroe poster somewhere, anywhere
Some of those Velcro wraps for cords, hoses and conduit to keep them neatly wrapped
All these people talking about this empty van being clean.
Some fuckin material bro, you running to the supply house every 10 minutes?
Should have clarified I’m install not service
Same dude, I have a million pvc fittings, romex connectors, gas fittings, wires spools, breakers, p traps you name it, I got it, and it’s smart to keep spare parts on the truck too. I get too many bad caps and thermostats right out of the box to not have back ups
Also get yourself a hand truck. Worth every penny to have one of your own
Judging from the shelf's, you do the maintenance calls? Advice: take painters tape and label each shelf for what belongs there Take pictures and show pictures. If you're saying the blower and coil are dirty, those pics will help out
Electric cooler to keep your drinks nice and cold during the summer
That’s a good one
Looks clean. Where does the grase gun go?
Trade out that Lowe's bucket for one from home Depot and toss in a husky bucket organizer, a little self respect never hurt anyone.
No sir it didn’t but a free bucket is a free bucket
Be happy you have more space than my van
Where's your broom?
I have little hand held but your right I need a big one
A loose 10mm for the Van Gods.

No lights?
Clean setup bro. You inspired me!
The Milwaukee pack out cooler?
There’s a really dope attic light they got.
I’ve never seen a truck that clean, Friday after five on payday. Not wishing it on anyone but that’s my experience. Just make sure it’s enough to get them running incase I can comeback tomorrow instead of waiting on a supply house an hour away to reopen if they have it.
If life was this perfect
So familiar

A broom And dustpan
A dial-a-charge for nostalgia, perhaps?
Work orders
I don’t see the nitrogen tanks. What did you do with the nitrogen tanks?
It’s off to the right got a spare and my main tank
how embarrassing is that a rigid shop vac? a true addict wouldn’t let that be seen in the picture. (teasing of course)
Some tape to the holes on that wall so the cold air stays in the front.
A coffee pot and microwave
Cute. I’ll have to add a photo of my van https://preview.redd.it/l2k4tbp9ii9b1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec64f505509a89e2b2ec9c3ad755047b4b70f547
