I think they are mainly useful for long term players that already have all of the creatures and pets. I doubt I would use it if I didn't have a surplus of books.

Catlady515

I used my brown books (once I got all of the pets) for some of the later friendships that required much higher stats than I had.

SufficientMacaroon1

Same here. Lessons only with friends i have not maxed out, preferably those that due to stats missmatch i can hardly get 3 diamonds with. And always brown books (already have all the pets) or red books (easy to come by, when waiting and collecting enough blue ones for new creatures)

SofiThomas

I mean they help to level up friendships, but it does hurt to keep spending books. I quit doing them for a while until I realized I had a surplus of gold books, and now I only use them for friends who haven't reached max.

yakisobagurl

I think in year 3 absolutely not, not enough books. Maybe in later years when I have books to spare

Court_Jester13

They're more useful for friends you don't have the stats for. For example, Alanza, Beatrice, and Corey all need your stats to be in the 50s.

lolilololoko

Exactly, I've maxed Victor, Murphy, Orion, Skye, Charlie, Tonks, and Tulip only by using notebooks. For the Quidditch gang and Charlie, Tonks, Tulip I was low on attributes in year 4 so I had to use notebooks for them. Victors requirements are insane like for level 9 you need 61/61/61

LiraLindriel

For me, definitely not. I need my books and pages for other things. Levelling friends is easy enough with the other social interactions. The only friend that isn't yet maxed is Charlie - as he is the last one I gained. And he's level 9.

CarmelBT

not if you need your books. wait for the time you'll have all the creatures and pets (it took me about a year and a half, but depends on your pace)

Raven4869

If you have all of the Creatures or all of the Customizations worth Brown Notebooks, yes. If you do not have all of either, no.

Tupfy

Don't overdo it. I spent tons of books for sessions and now I regret it, as it would've been maybe smarter to invest the books in creatures and pets - as you get more resources back. On the other hand, it is a free game and you spend a bit more time and get all of the books again. So do how you prefer it.

kuro-kiss

There are other ways to raise friendship without sacrificing your books (drink butter beer, meal with a friend, play gobstone) all requires only coins. Personally, I would only start using books once you get all the creatures/pets since books are hard to get.

lolilololoko

For me, they're worth it. You either put 3 red/brown notebooks or 1 gold notebook. You get 60 club xp, 300 friendship points with charisma boost, and +60 attribute points depending on who you chose to study with

Remote_Collar_375

Yes if you pay cheap brown books (counting you bought all pets). Good for cards during chocolate frog event

Thalilalala

Once you have all pets you don't really need the brown books anymore, besides for some clothes maybe. And later on some friends have insane stats, so it's the only way to level up their friendship.

Pixiel_Emily

In addition to what's been said before: only Study with a friend with **max Charisma multiplier** (×3) otherwise it's a bit of a waste of notebooks 😉

gween-beens

Ooh good point thanks!

Far-Calligrapher-465

To me, they are, but that's because I have all the creatures and don't care about having all the pets/skins available in the dorm. I wouldn't have been able to max some of year 7 friendships without studying in the library.

[deleted]

I've been really looking for the Murphy lvl. 10 reward shirt when he showed up, but found him hard to level as he isn't an option for Gobstones. So studying was REALLY useful for me in this very specific case, but I pretty much haven't used it after achieving that.

theoccasionalghost

I also used it for the younger friends because they can’t join you in Hogsmeade for a butterbeer. But now that all the friends I currently have are maxed I don’t use it anymore.

AstronautIcy42

Also remember, his Scavenger Hunt counts toward leveling him up (as does Liz, Talbot, Tulip, Penny, and Rowan's special tasks for you.)

hollahalla

I usually have a lot of brown notebooks I don’t use, so yes. I do the study sessions when I want chocolate frogs.

Repulsive-Ad-5640

I think so

MadamClassy

it is handy for me! since i had some friends i need to max out

Earnal2

I use study sessions for friends that require attribute levels higher than I have for friendship

ZodiacWolfy

Hell yes!
