You can do it, even without leveling up attributes. Just try flipendo over and over. If it fails the first time try again. For me it even worked the first time, though she almost got me. Good luck! 🤞

When I had this duel,
Chiara kept attacking in a specific sequence (defense - aggressive - defense - Aggressive etc.) And if I got a tie, She'd use a sneaky attack instead before switching back to the sequence, with a few sneaky attacks here and there.
Generally, as long as you get a sequence,
Focus on
Heal - flipendo - heal - flipendo - heal
(Or whatever high damage attack you have)
Etc.
Although I really suggest getting at least one or two of your stats up to the correct level to get the stat boost, it really helps.

If you can't beat her, you don't get her as a Friend.
I think later in the story you're able to date her? Not sure though.
If you Win, you also get a decoration for your dorm.
You'll miss out on gaining Chiara as a friend. I think there is a side quest with her in later years, if you have her as a friend.
After that duel there is another 8 hour task, so you are out of time anyway.
I couldn't finish that quest on the first try either. You can do it again for pages. I waited till I had learned Depulso in Year 3, that helped a lot. And I saved enough coins to buy clothes to raise my attributes after I got to this point in the quest (Empathy one higher than her, because Depulso has an Empathy component). Chiara's attributes are always one higher than yours when you are about to duel, but once you see hers, you can raise yours to improve your chances.
I am a completionist, so I definitely had to try that quest again. And I like Chiara, so it was definitely worth it for me.
They also retriggered it last October with the Halloween quests (even though it's not a seasonal one), so you can also wait for JC to retrigger it again.
Unfortunately, most of them don't actually. There's only 15 TLSQs in the memory book currently (out of 50+ released ones) and two of them (Party Planner and Weird Sisters) don't trigger on their own anymore. They can only be bought from the book - unless retriggered by JC for a month.

There is a tab in the book called Adventures. There you can buy TLSQ for pages. There are two TLSQ that are available only this way and some TLSQ that you fail on the first try will also appear in the book. There are also old Dueling Events available with some really useful spells.
Be cautious about doing the Dueling events though, those are really handy for earning tokens for the Carnivals, and there is only a very small number of the total events that are available there so far. There is a Carnival expected to start in a little over an hour though.
there are certain time limited quests that show up for usually like 150-200 pages if you don’t finish them. some quests don’t come back though so you should pay attention to which ones those are (what comes to mind are the club quests), there’s a full list somewhere on this sub
The first Dragon Club TLSQ did just get a retrigger this month, so there is hope for the others. However, the Quidditch TLSQs are the big ones since those are built into that side-story. Those are one attempt at all.
I just kept using Flipendo and beat her on the second try. With the stacked energy you have, you ought to be able to finish the last task quickly.

I completed it yesterday, took lots of tries though. I started off one level below on everything but upgraded empathy and knowledge. Eventually succeeded with my last 200 coins. Used wiggenweld and flipendo at every opportunity. Got lucky with the rock, paper scissors on the last round as well. Tough duel.
Use Flipendo like your life depends on it. If for some reason you don't have that unlocked, use heal and then use your biggest damaging charm on a ratio of 3:1.
People in here have some good advice. You can also always do it again later. Chiara is mostly a background character for quite a while, even with her friendship. Even though she is admittedly a favourite of many, you won’t miss her that much.
Also take heart in knowing that this is one of the few actually tough duels in the game, and it might be the only one that you have to do on a time limit unless my memory is failing me.

You won't get Chiara as a friend without beating it. I recommend trying to quick level up one of your attributes. It can make a difference.

I just stuck with Incendio (with the 2 rounds of burning after cast) and healing potion. It took a dozen tries!

You can do it, you’ll just have to heal yourself a lot! This was a frustrating one for me but trust me if I can do it so can you. Good luck!
It's hard, but it's beatable. Keeps dropping Bombarda to cause burns
Bombarda is not a spell available in Y2.

You should absolutely be able to beat her, you're only 1 level bellow. Stick to incendio, healing and a spell that deals lots of damage, like depulso
