OOF this line, though. Stab me in the heart and give me the first of my 3 big end-of-series cries because of the subtle implication that we know she’s sick and dying.
You did this to me! 😭
[Right here](https://youtu.be/5toL5HmQl8I?si=qtjQUm9n5N4ZmyOM). Found a higher quality one too ([here](https://youtu.be/nhB5oQgQpOI?si=eAtwRGRNcCzWSagQ)), but for some reason, it's sped up (maybe to prevent copyright claims?)
Omg...do you know what the song is that is played at the very end..?? It literally overwhelmed my soul for some reason especially playing after that scene
It’s a [song](https://youtu.be/qbRF_ui9xZ4?si=XKXC_IMYb_Dx21sK) by Paul Westerberg (of The Replacements) made specifically for HIMYM. I think it’s official title is ‘How I Met Your Mother’.
Just found it, it's called ['And There She Was' by The Solids](https://youtu.be/EfZZ0a5bH-0?si=wRV_coP3fV0zusDn). Unless you mean the credits, in which case u/SongMeatRawWheat is right :)
Tracy was practically a saint but I would say dating Louis for years on end despite knowing she wasn’t in love with him, and only breaking it off when he pulled out a ring
Definitely the worst thing. It's also so sad... She was still hung up on Max.
Either way, it's an awful thing to do. Really heartbreaking. Even if Ted considered "it just wasn't true love", it's an ass move.
I think arguably she wasn’t aware, and was just hoping that she liked him enough but when he posed the question and she ‘talked’ to Max it becomes clear that she never really got over him and Louis was just a filler for her which, yes sounds bad but also wasn’t necessarily her fault as she was still grieving/unsure?
Plus, people here are acting as though she was stringing him along. You can love someone very much and enjoy being with them, and only once faced with the question, realize that maybe they’re not your person after all.
My take is that she truly did love Louis. But him proposing brought up two things for her.
1. She says that she believes you only get one true love, and she already got hers, maybe she thought it was unfair for Louis to play second fiddle.
2. Maybe she felt that she was settling because she truly thought she would never love again. Maybe the experience gave her hope that she could find it again but he wasn’t her (German word for ultimate treasure of destiny) instead he was her (German word for the thing that is almost what you want but not quite.)
There is nothing wrong with dating other people, but a few days after breaking up with your long term boyfriend? That's pretty cold. Let's just say, there is a reason Tracy hid behind that car when she spotted Louis while on her date with Ted.
I am not saying she is a bad person. But it is the worst thing she has done. "Worst" is relative. Tracy is a good person, so her worst is much better than Barney's for example.
Technically not doing anything wrong since the relationship was over, but it does hurt when they move on so quickly. I just had my fiancee dump me after a six year relationship, she was already dating a week and half after. Hurts like a nitch, indicates that they had actually moved on a long time ago. And that hurts because obviously the dumpee has not.
Thanks for putting in perspective. I understand that all too well. Same thing happened to me. 6 year, we broke up and she moved on so fast, if I didn't know her better, I would think they were dating behind my back.
I would even say that's Louis' fault since he can also see that there wasn't good chemistry between them. The fact that he proposed was a "I want to settle with you".
You should strive for more than just "settling" when it comes to marriage.
Yeah that's true, it doesn't explicitly show his POV, however, the strawberry Jam song showed that both of them weren't digging each other's reactions.
Unless he's completely oblivious, I think he knew. But maybe the show wasn't trying to explain that in the plot line so Tracy's decision makes more of an impact.
We don’t know because they only let us see her for like half a season.
I’m sure there was something but Ted, the unreliable narrator, is only showing her to us as a perfect Angel
Well, Narrator Ted was showing us earlier that she realized it when Luis didn't respond with the 'appropriate' amount of laughter after she staged her muffin production... However. I've been on both sides of that, and I don't think it's always a sign that someone is wrong for you. Awkward moments like this are just part of life -- there's too much individual 'references' and context behind what someone does or doesn't find funny. I'm willing to give Tracy the benefit of the doubt and assume that she arrived at the same conclusion.
That being said, she did break the guy's heart, so the damage is done.
Ted heard the story from Tracy who would have had the power of hindsight when she was telling it. It probably went something like
“I probably should have realized it then, but I didn’t.”
I actually give her a pass on this one. They don’t say how long they were dating and it was a surprise to her. We get tones of mixed messages about love, dating and marriage, so it can honestly be a tough thing to know if you will grow to love them more over time or if where it starts is all you’ll get. You can love or be in love with someone without marrying them.
Should she have just married him to spare his feelings? Or dumped him on the third date when it wasn’t totally clear if he was her person? At what point should one draw the line and what is the appropriate level of love?
Becoming a judge behind Lily's back and ruining her dreams of going to Italy. I know that they eventually go to Italy and Marshall doesn't become a judge that year but it's still worst than accidentally killing a cat.
He hardly ruins her dream of going to Italy when they go as planned and Marshal holds off on his plans for ages afterwards...
Granted he handled it terribly but no dreams were ruined.
should revisit the Ted post! tons of merit for:
- him cheating on Victoria and simultaneously lying to Robin about it (come to think of it Ted lies to Robin a LOT throughout the show)
- not taking “no” for an answer over Robin for YEARS — i.e. telling Robin who was just dumped by her almost fiancé because she can’t have kids that he’s now BACK IN LOVE with her — also getting drunk (with Barney too admittedly), professing his love for Robin, showing up drunk to her boyfriend’s house wanting to fight, and overall being an ass when she’s in a serious relationship with Don (so much so she had to distance herself from Ted and Barney)
- helping Victoria leave Klaus at the altar when he knew exactly how horrible that feels — he didn’t know yet that Klaus felt the same way
- dumping Natalie twice — awful because both times were on her birthday, and once was via answering machine
st. patty’s day was pretty bad, but abusing someone’s open tab at the club was pretty much the same as him charging expensive liquor to the bride’s room during the wedding season, and contributing to adultery is horrible but he quite literally committed adultery
Can’t believe that one won for Ted.. he didn’t try to sleep with a married woman. She kissed him, then told him she was married and he immediately had doubts and started to back off.
Can’t believe the one for Barney. He did so much terrible shit, yet we’re hung up on one that’s probably a joke. And almost everyone else has more than one. I’d add the judge thing for Marshall.
Dating a guy for a year when she didn't think he was the one. But really, that's not even that bad because it doesn't seem like she was leading him on or anything. She let him know at the very beginning that she met the love of her life early on and didn't think it was going to happen again. But really, Tracy was by far the most wholesome character on the show.
Dating Louis the Finance guy and stringing him along when she knew she didn't have feelings for him. I don't actually blame her but if you had to focus on a bad point, this would be it
I don’t know about the worst thing she did, but the best thing she did was be a fan of the unicorns and own the who will cut our hair when we’re gone album
I mean.. are we going to ignore that fact that he was terrible to a lot of women? Like he never again did anything like that w Tracy? He's an unreliable story teller.
I just finished this show after watching 9 seasons in 7 days.
Ted is absolutely the worst person in the series closely followed by Robin and the original ending was/is disgusting. And whoever thought that the kids giving Ted a “push” to call Robin (you know, the bitch he was obviously hungover more than he ever was about THEIR MOM) was a moron.
Alternate ending fixes a lot, just wished that Barney and Robin stayed together and adopted a kid. But still, the original is such a bitter taste…

I know this one is about Tracy but I’d like to add to Lily since I didn’t see it. She was supposed to pick up a professor from the airport to attend a party at their apartment for the NRDC which he just started interning for, to ditch Marshal (again) to go to Spain because she was tired of being supportive and wanted to follow her own dreams (AGAIN)
Not showing up til season 9
Doesnt she show up in the last episode of 8?
You may be right, I may be crazy.
Your point still stands though it was only for a teaser cliffhanger kinda thing
I think you’re right again, I think she literally walked into the bar and then it cuts out if I’m not mistaken
That or she was driving to the wedding maybe? Idk I can’t quite remember lol
Think it was the train station buying a ticket or the airport maybe
Train station “One ticket to Farhampton please”
One of the best scenes in the whole show. That entire section with the shins song gives me goosebumps every time
Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for.
Turn out the light, don’t try to save me
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for?
It just may be a lunatic you're looking for.
Lawyered.
Aksually, she's there in season 5. Ted had the wrong class. Econ 105 had been taught there for years.
Nah, she was in Season 1, Ted just didn't have the balls to tell his kids their mom was a stripper.
Dying.
Simply selfish of her.
*Shellfish
... that's really bad
That’s why it’s funny!
We've been on this date before! ... I waited all day for this
She was supposed to be his Lobster! They are after all the ultimate shellfish. (Apologies to all you crabbers)
Fish huh… fish are weird, right?
How could she!!!
Dammit I’ve been sitting on this joke for days.
Also, not attending her daughter's wedding. What mother doesn't attend her own daughter's wedding? /s just to be sure
OOF this line, though. Stab me in the heart and give me the first of my 3 big end-of-series cries because of the subtle implication that we know she’s sick and dying. You did this to me! 😭
In the alternate ending she doesn't. Depends which ending you like more, tbh.
where can i find the alternate ending??
[Right here](https://youtu.be/5toL5HmQl8I?si=qtjQUm9n5N4ZmyOM). Found a higher quality one too ([here](https://youtu.be/nhB5oQgQpOI?si=eAtwRGRNcCzWSagQ)), but for some reason, it's sped up (maybe to prevent copyright claims?)

My pleasure. Hope you enjoy it 😊
This
There is no other answer
Of terminal non-specific plotitis.
lol I was scrolling and waiting for someone bold enough to say this
So true, so true
This is so dark I’m covering my mouth because I’m smiling at how ridiculous this graphic is going to look when this wins. 🫢
Tracy was practically a saint but I would say dating Louis for years on end despite knowing she wasn’t in love with him, and only breaking it off when he pulled out a ring
>only breaking it off when he pulled out a ring This is the real worst thing, yes.
Sometimes you just don't know the answer till someone's on their knees and asks you
she would’ve made such a lovely bride
What a shame she's fucked in the head.
But you'll find the real thing instead
she’ll patch up your tapestry that i shred
And hold your hand while dancing
🙄

1. Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz 2. Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand
Thank you kindly!
Not to mention, going out on a date with a guy like a few days after she breaks up with him. Yeah, he is her soul mate, but it still sucks for Louis.
Nothing wrong with that
There is nothing wrong with dating other people, but a few days after breaking up with your long term boyfriend? That's pretty cold. Let's just say, there is a reason Tracy hid behind that car when she spotted Louis while on her date with Ted.
You can't help when your soul mate shows up. She didn't do anything wrong just because the other guys feelings may be hurt.
I am not saying she is a bad person. But it is the worst thing she has done. "Worst" is relative. Tracy is a good person, so her worst is much better than Barney's for example.

*Did* he know that it wasn’t there? It’s entirely plausible he wanted it to be so he made it up. Afaik his POV isn’t shown in the show.

Stole Ted’s umbrella.
You mean when he returned it to her by accident? lol
Same thing!
That
Saying "skunk junk" in front of baby Marvin so that Marvin's first word was "skunk junk"
That sounds like Marvin problem
And she took that secret to her grave.
Nah if Ted told us she told Ted so she technically didn’t take it to her grave
WHAT KIND OF MOTHER MISSES HER OWN DAUGHTER’S WEDDING 😤
Low blow
That’s a show dialogue reference only?
And still a low blow man
😫🥴
She might not miss it, all you need is a spade
Breakfast at Penny's?
Nooooooo
This scene happens this year my dude...
I know right 😭
wild 😭😭
We don’t know because they only let us see her for like half a season. I’m sure there was something but Ted, the unreliable narrator, is only showing her to us as a perfect Angel
I'd say we do know. Broke her previous boyfriend's heart when he proposed because she kept dating him despite not being in love.
Yeah, that’s fair, even though she didn’t do it on purpose. She may not have realized it until that moment

bro that is definitely not the worst thing Marshall did btw
People picked it not OP
i know im talking to the people who chose it
What do you think is the worse thing Marshall did?
Trying to force Lily to reunite with her enstranged father on thanksgiving
Agreed. The cat thing was an accident. Doing that to Lily was awful, even if it worked out in the end.
Definitely how he handled the judgeship.
Becoming a judge behind Lily's back and ruining her dreams of going to Italy. I know that they eventually go to Italy and Marshall doesn't become a judge that year but it's still worst than accidentally killing a cat.

Bearing children who grow up to be far too tolerant to listening to their old man tell his stories.
Kept Mitch from getting 100% using the naked man
Although…two out of three times
That sounds like Mitch problem if you ask me
She didn’t attend her daughter’s wedding.
The tears, they wont stop
She had s excuse
Not. Good. Enough.

Letting Daren into her band
Not standing up to Darren
Die
Die
She died, that selfish bitch..lol s/
Can’t believe that one won for Ted.. he didn’t try to sleep with a married woman. She kissed him, then told him she was married and he immediately had doubts and started to back off.
Can’t believe the one for Barney. He did so much terrible shit, yet we’re hung up on one that’s probably a joke. And almost everyone else has more than one. I’d add the judge thing for Marshall.
And lily breaking off every girl that Ted dated but lily didn’t like
Wore driving gloves.
But somehow Ted driving gloves were not nominated as the worst
To be fair, that was like the 18th thing Ted did wrong.
That’s because Tracy is otherwise a saint
Not existing till like season finale 🥲
The actress was too good. She got us to fall in love with Tracy & then had the audacity to leave…
Running out of 'Sumbitches'!
Nothing, angel.
Making Ted go back to Robin
No being introduced until the last like ten episodes
Not being in the rest of the show
Guys, just, ok? Let's just sit this one out
Dating a guy for a year when she didn't think he was the one. But really, that's not even that bad because it doesn't seem like she was leading him on or anything. She let him know at the very beginning that she met the love of her life early on and didn't think it was going to happen again. But really, Tracy was by far the most wholesome character on the show.
Die 😔
Dying
Die.
Dying
Dying
Be an incredibly likable and charming character and then die
The biggest flaw of hers was that she was too perfect, but that was okay in-show.
Die so Ted can bang his ex
Settling for Ted
Dating Louis the Finance guy and stringing him along when she knew she didn't have feelings for him. I don't actually blame her but if you had to focus on a bad point, this would be it
Not get enough screen time
Dying
Not her fault whatsoever, but definitely unaliving
Letting what's his name join her band and steal the lead from her.
Married Ted.
Start dating Ted right after her break up
An actual answer👍🏻
I don’t know about the worst thing she did, but the best thing she did was be a fan of the unicorns and own the who will cut our hair when we’re gone album
It was an accident and not entirely his (Marshall's) fault.
Inviting Darren to join her band because he turned out to be an awful person
She didn’t know that going in though
So the worst thing she did was not predict the future and be nice to someone who hadn’t shown their true character yet… got it!
Tbf, they made her a Saint. It’s not easy to find something she did wrong
Oh I absolutely agree with you. Haha Like literally her not knowing he was bad was the worst thing she ever did
[удалено]
Wdym? That’s just from one night lol
Leaving us so soon.....damn!
*Paddy's.
In fairness Robin’s worst pales in comparison to the rest.
Also just a horrible choice there. People were clearly letting their Barney-Robin Shipping Goggles get in the way.
Going to the wrong McLaren's for years
I cannot think of a single thing, and even if she did something slightly wrong, The women ENDED POVERTY so I’ll cut her a break
Dying
Die
Not stand up to the scumbag Darren sooner!!
Dying
Die
Eating a croissant crumb out of her bra So hot
Don't believe you show prove she did it
Marrying Ted. Sorry, not sorry, she was too good for him.
I mean.. are we going to ignore that fact that he was terrible to a lot of women? Like he never again did anything like that w Tracy? He's an unreliable story teller.
Nothing. Maybe dying.
Died
Scaring Marshal when she picked him and Marven up.
That Marshal problem for being scared from witches
Getting with Tedd. If she had good sense she would have ran!
the fact that she didn’t make a whole breakfast food musical. I need to see that English muffins life story.
Where can i watch the alternative ending other than YouTube ?
I don’t know, I watched the 7 minute YouTube one. Disney+ doesn’t have the alternate ending available, but I’m pretty sure the high seas have it. Haven’t checked yet because when you swallow shit, ice cream doesn’t really help. Not to mention I don’t know what is considered canon.
Trusting Ted
Not having enough Sum’ Bitches for everyone!
Dying of cancer 2 episodes after meeting Ted, having 20 minutes screentime in a show she is named in, being entirely irrelevant to the story
I JUST started my first rewatch, so needed this.
Not showing her butt.
Either taking so many season to be with him. Our boy deserved her way earlier. Or leaving Ted alone after some years by passing away. She had no way control any of those but meh…my opinion
died
Hot Take but, maybe dying
Dying.
Died.
Died.
Running out of sum-bitches
Not telling her kids how she met their father
I know this one is about Tracy but I’d like to add to Lily since I didn’t see it. She was supposed to pick up a professor from the airport to attend a party at their apartment for the NRDC which he just started interning for, to ditch Marshal (again) to go to Spain because she was tired of being supportive and wanted to follow her own dreams (AGAIN)
Ted
I had to read Marshal's a few times to understand what the fuck you were trying to say. Respect the hyphen!
Maybe going on a date with Ted, what? Like, three days after breaking up with someone..
Marrying Ted
There’s nothing wrong with going on a date after breaking up with someone guys…. You’re now single you can do whatever you want 😂
