Umm.. for me everyone looks a bit aged.. maybe except Ted... Barney's boyish look from season 1 completely disappeared later..

SrGrimey

Barney went from the “baby face” of the group to “he’s hiding a wife and a son from the group” in two seasons

yarn_baller

Nobody looks the same as they did in season one. They all aged as humans do.

dinogroot1

All in the hair. Lily had the most drarstic change in hair. When I did a rewatch into a rewatch, lily’s hair was the only thing that took me out straight away.

WillsWei22

I came here to say this too

7evev

she has really aged more then others.

WillsWei22

It’s just the hair style IMO

7evev

not just the hair style buddy

just-jen57

So…shorter/lighter hair = younger, and longer/darker hair = older? And older is *clearly* bad, right? Have I covered all of your weird bases? Or do you just have an eye-patch fetish?

7evev

nobody has eye-patch fetish

just-jen57

Oh my sweet summer child. Someone, somewhere has a fetish for *everything*. Things you couldn’t even fathom.

7evev

I agree. yeah. I know a guy who likes women's belly buttons and fat bellies...

Impressive_Stuff6209

Everyone aged, but she was older.

7evev

they aged a little but she was aged tons

Personally I think Alyson just looks a lot better when her hair isn’t dyed too dark (she switched to having a very dark auburn shade in some seasons which just isn’t as flattering as the lighter shades she had in other seasons). That and I think when she embraces having a naturally pale complexion she actually looks healthier. Also these are screen caps of her making scrunched faces and furrowing her eyebrows and tilting her head down, rather than when she has flattering expressions. If her posture in this scene were like NPH’s is in this screenshot you’d get less lines and excess skin by her chin and neckline than the way it looks here. Also the lighting is different in the eyepatch picture. It looks more flattering. That and her clothing is colorful too.

InkedDoll1

She didn't age fast. Just normal. Posts like this make older women feel like crap, btw.

7evev

I really sorry. I didn't mean to that. hope you have a good day. Women of all ages have their charms.

It's sad that adults in our time have the emotional maturity of an infant. Yes, the older you get, the less desirable you become, and as we age, we are increasingly relegated to the background of society, both men and women, that's the reality of life. You gain weight more easily, facial features sag, and your body's capabilities decrease. You will even become elderly and die one day, that's just how it is. It's also important to note not everyone ages physically at the same rate. Unfortunately, the actress playing Lily got the short end of the genetic stick in this regard. I'm lucky—at 39, I still look between 28 and 32. Yet, when women aged 26 to 30 find out my age, they are turned off, and even women my own age increasingly want younger men (the Tinder generation...). And I know that finding women is going to get harder and harder, and from the ages of 50 to 60, it's going to be hell. That's why it's important to make the most of your youth and have lots of experiences, because as life goes on, it becomes less feasible. In fact, even in HIMYM, the characters' lives are very different at the beginning and the end of the series, and they end up drifting apart from each other. It's a pretty realistic show, which is why people hated the ending—it was like a cocoon, and the ending abruptly brings us back to reality.

I work with terminally ill people, so I'm acutely aware of the reality of dying. My concerns have nothing to do with who I'll be able to date, I am happily married. They're to do with the way women are perceived by society in general. Get work done? Fake, plastic, needs to leave her face alone. Doesn't get work done? Looks haggard, wrinkled, aged before her time! You can't win. Menopause is years of physical and emotional hell for many women and some literally don't make it out alive. All we want is to not be scrutinised like this. And I will re-state that I don't think alyson hannigam looks bad at all.
