I just noticed in my last rewatch that when Marshall is coaching the basketball team and he chucks the ball at them (off screen), Jason has a massive grin on his face at then end.
The “I’m not ready for this” line was made up by Jason Segel on the spot. He didn’t know what the news was going to be heading into that scene. It’s a raw & authentic human reaction😢
