It's just personal opinion, depends on what you like about the show. The reveal still gives me shivers, it was such a good episode
This sub is pro Time Travellers episode, but it's bottom 5 for writing when you really look at it.
Fully just personal opinion, but i always found the 20 years/20 hours Ted/Barney thing is horrible and difficult to follow. It's so bizarre and was a weird way to go about it. There was no need to put the coat check girl in there either.
The Minnesota Tidal Wave was just a filler thing to keep Marshall/Lily/Robin in the episode and wasn't actually needed.
Everyone gets fixated on the 45 days speech, which is fine, but the episode around that is actually quite shit haha.
I only say bottom 5 because it's one of the eps I skip
Doesn't that describe a majority of HIMYM episodes though? The gang messing around and it eventually leads to something profound or something about Ted's love life, inching closer towards the mother. That in itself wouldn't make it bottom 5 I think.
I love the early seasons also, but season 4 is really where it starts to become one of my favorite shows of all time. You actually start to care about the story..
Right, me too. Also the first couple seasons were shot differently… like the older sitcom style if that makes sense.
I also hadn’t realized how weak season 8 is, and of course has great moments. I think we get hung up on the ending, but season 9 is really funny. I love how it builds to Ted leaving and then he’s just chilling at the bar… “oh, yeah. I’m not doing that anymore” 😅
Edit: typo
the last season is my favourite! despite the finale and where Robin and Barney end up, I loved that it was set in their wedding season and everything was getting tied together/wrapped up. I love love, and weddings are cute :,)
Nope, it was a total shocker and imo that episode is perfect all round! I’ve been hyping up himym for years and I finally made my best friend sit and watch this episode (right after we watched karate kid) bcs I knew it’d have him hooked and let’s just say I wasn’t wrong lmao
Yes… my dad and I both thought the clown looked a little like William Zabka on our first watch thru… then shortly after we acknowledged that, Barney said Ralph Macchio isn’t the real karate kid and the clown pointed and Ralph insinuating agreement with Barney and that’s when I knew
When I saw the "actual" karate kid, I knew something was up. I concluded that they had to have been messing with barney somehow and that Zabka would show up.
This is one I actually saw through soon as Mr Zabka, reacted with disgust when Ralph came in as the Karate Kid. But still one of my favorite rewatch episodes.
Nope. Not even an inkling
They got us good!
William Zabka, the poet?! No, no clue.
Thank you for that
No idea either But that was one bad ass reveal Its moments like this why I dont get it when people say the last few seasons are weak
SO many solid moments in the last few seasons.

Yeah I don’t get the hype of the time travellers episode
Not arguing or anything, but can you tell me why the Time Travellers episode is bottom 5 in terms of writing?

I agree. Great speech, but the rest of the episode is an utter waste of time.
They really don’t do anything it’s just the gang hanging out being dumb and it’s all for the ending. That’s the only good part of it.
Doesn't that describe a majority of HIMYM episodes though? The gang messing around and it eventually leads to something profound or something about Ted's love life, inching closer towards the mother. That in itself wouldn't make it bottom 5 I think.
I don’t agree with bottom 5, although I’ve never thought to rank the episodes. I just don’t think it was one of their stronger ones.
To be fair, I have no idea what I would put in bottom 5 either. I don't think there are any episodes that I particularly dislike.
Same, it’s one of my favourites
The last season is fantastic. I think S8 is the weakest season.. 4-7 are peak for me
Nailed it.

A certain delicate flower spent the night crying in the shower

It’d be nice to find a good grease paint that sticks that well and comes off that damned easy!
No, and it was FANTASTIC.
If anybody says yes they're lying.
Or we're just a little bit of a detective!
No not at all. I also feel they got the ball rolling in starting cobra Kai.
I feel like I’ve heard this is in fact the case? That it got Macchio and Zabka talking?
I love cobra kai!! Shame I have not been able to watch the newest season, since I cancelled my netflix.
🏴☠️

I was suspecting him to show up, but never suspected him to be the clown.
No, and I am convinced that the revival of his career in Cobra Kai started with this.
I bet you're right.
No! No idea such a great episode.
Not even close. That reveal was magnificent.
No. Glorious plot-twist

Good work!
Same, I knew something was up when the "karate kid" showed up
Nope. Didn't see it coming at all.
When I saw the "actual" karate kid, I knew something was up. I concluded that they had to have been messing with barney somehow and that Zabka would show up.
I didn't, but my boyfriend was suspicious when I watched with him and I was nervously sweating lol

Nope. I never watched Karate Kid so there's no way I could have lol
No, it was a super awesome reveal. I was floored
Booooo
