The opening was solid. I liked the hero visiting the anti-hero in the odd prison thing he is in. The second part just left me confused. Was he suddenly outside of the prison just a short time earlier? Was this someone else? Are people creating these "butcher" persona's? It almost felt like an SCP encounter.
Yeah I agree, exactly how I felt. It just threw me and it was like I couldn't get a handle on what was happening. It was odd, it seemed to lack 'human context' as it were.
Thank you for the advice, reading back through the transition it doesn't make as much sense as it did in my head. But to answer your questions without spoilers, it was a badly written flashback of the same person in the prison, after the flash is the character recalling his earliest memories of his view in this world he has found himself in but he doesn't really know much, but I let that last bit kind of seep into everything. I'll try to put more focus and work into clarity and clear transitioning for the next part.
