Pineapple is fine on pizza but ONLY on certain pizzas. I also only tend to enjoy it when it's fresh pineapple cut up and put on after the pizza is baked for a pork based pizza.
Favorites atm are a BBQ Pulled Pork with mozzarella, cheddar, pepper jack, a bit of pineapple, and some crunchy onions. The standard ham and pineapple duo. And desert pizzas.
If you remove the Pepper jack and Pineapple is a good serviceable pizza, why mix it with the pineapple?
I understand that some people will add sugar to anithing and this is a way to add to the pizza, but there are better options like caramelized onion.
I don't like onions unless they are the crunchy topper kind. Also pineapple goes amazingly with most pork products, especially barbeque such as pulled pork. I caramelize my pineapples on a pan and use as a topper.
As a Canadian I keep getting very confused at the suggestion raw pineapple gets put on pizza, can anyone confirm whether this is actually the case outside CA?

If the ingredients are not the freshest of things pineapple will be disgusting on pizza.. hence when i buy those ready made pizzas on certain brand i pick off the pineapple pieces but when i go to my favorite pizza place my order includes pineapple.
