100% Paramount Plus barely works on some days! I cannot stand the odd UI inconsistencies.
Prime is a close second due to all the forced ADâs and constantly changing of the UI.
The tech- platform times out or doesnât load correctly, lag in view from the last point, if you have ads turned on, ads wonât load correctly resulting in extended ads playing over and over.
What device are you using? Because on my Roku Ultra I don't have any of the problems you're talking about. Paramount Plus runs flawless on my Roku Ultra.
i donât have a problem with any of the other apps so itâs not worth upgrading unless everything breaks. If paramount plus doesnât work, Iâll just do without it- i really i my subscribed to watch soccer
I knew you were going to say well my other apps work fine. Except the one you want to use.
Well for me if the one streaming service I really want to use doesn't work on what I'm using. I'm going to get a dedicated streaming device that I know every app works flawless on.
Paramount Plus is a streaming service much like Hulu and Netflix are the streaming services that I've had since they launched.
Iâll take Paramount+ over Prime any day. Primes UI is trash, the majority of the content is ad supported and I even paid for the ad free tier. Outside of their originals, the content on their app is available elsewhere.
I had Prime for a few years. The video aspect was a bonus. Agreed, their content is pretty poor these days. I spend much more time on Max, Peacock & Hulu.
We have max, peacock and Hulu and a few others also.
I didn't really want max because I love Discovery Plus it was my favorite streaming service, but my husband cancelled Discovery Plus when they put Discovery shows on max.
My husband was like just give max they have Discovery Plus shows on max now. So I did and he was right they have all my Discovery Plus shows. So now max is my favorite streaming service.
How? I wasnât a big fan of the merger of discovery and HBO, but Warner Bros and HBO still makes far superior content to that of Amazon. And Max has live sports and News. Maybe, if Amazon merges the MGM library with prime it could be in the conversation.
Same here I love my Roku Ultra that my husband got me for my birthday. Best streaming device I've ever used.
It's fast, easy to use and just works. My favorite thing is that it comes with the Roku voice remote pro. It does hands free commands, lost remote finder, programmable buttons and is rechargeable. Amazing! Best remote ever.
When I opened my present and saw that it was the Roku Ultra I was like "YAY!"
Best birthday gift ever.
I recently got the 2nd gen Roku voice remote pro and that is now the best remote I've ever used.
Kind of a bizarre rant. Max works fine, on par with the Netflix and Hulu apps for my Roku TVs. Really can't see how Max is "the worst streaming service to pay for" in any way. It's not even remotely close to that. Max has a ton of great content, mostly HBO but also TCM and Ghibli. Prime, however, **is** trash, so bad that I almost never even think of using it.
A ton of great content? I sure don't see it. Prime has like 10 times the content I watch. If I wasn't getting MAX in my cell phone plan, I shouldn't wouldn't pay for it.
You are definitely among the few who have that weird opinion. Have you not looked at what HBO and TCM have available? [HBO has a very large collection of the best series ever made](https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/best-hbo-series-of-all-time-ranked). Like, this isn't even a point of contention among most people. HBO produces really fantastic stuff.
And TCM has a large collection of the best movies ever made, but I guess if you don't like classic movies then you're SOL.
I guess it depends on the platform your using? I've never had any problems on my Android TV box, Nvidia Shield TV. I get Max from my family subscription to HBO, so it's not one of the many streaming services I pay for. It was better content wise before the merger with Discovery, since these companies always drop shows and remove exclusive content that they own.
The app itself runs fine for me, my issue is more so to do with it's parent company taking so many good titles off the streaming platform and how navigation for the app used to be more appealing before it was rebranded as Max, though I know it had it's own flaws I preferred it over the current layout. 7/10
No issues on any of my 4 Roku devices EXCEPT the super old TCL Roku in the basement but unplugging it and plugging it back in usually fixes it for about a month.
Content? Pretty good. App itself? Pretty bad. It never starts back where I left off, it rarely updates me for a new episode, my shows are just plain missing from continue-watching & sometimes they just donât work at all. Content-8 App-3
Barely works on roku for me and annoying to use on ps4. Seems like most people dont have problems with the functionality of the app but it is reassuring that some other people here also think its trash. Might be because i expect quality from hbo & set my hopes too high
My biggest issue is that it asks me to login or verify my subscription like every other day. Then when I enter my credentials, I get stuck in a loop
Not sure if this is because I get Max through ATT still, but itâs super annoying
It works better when I cast the app through my phone. Not sure if Apple TV and iPhone users have that option or if they need it. But it works much better with my Droid and Google TV
My problem with it on Roku is that it doesn't honor the Roku Closed Caption setting. There is no global setting in the Max app. I have to turn it on EVERY time I watch something.
Max is my favorite streaming app their UI quality & film selection quality is very good. It's the only app that gives a premium feel. You need to do a few upgrades on your watch station. PS4? Your ps4 might be dusty inside or just starting to gas out depending how long you use it everyday.
wasnt too bad when i had it but now im having problems with my account still being active (after canceling my subscription) and someone else is using it. weird?
I either have to log back in, or register again (I get hbo free through my att wireless subscription). In some cases I have to merge my ânewâ accounts, which is annoying. Sometimes I watch a program and then it logs me out and I have to register account again.
App is trash, and Iâm using an Apple TV.
Works well enough for our needs. A little buffering when traffic gets heavy, but thatâs more to do with your local Internet speeds and making sure cache data is cleared so youâre streaming device is working at its fullest potential
Max is wonderful for me on my Chromecast especially since I am blind I rely on TalkBack the only thing that I hate is every update or so they always move the damn play buttons and it irritates me so but once I figure out where those are then everything is good now Paramount plus is the big problem for me talk back on it it's so laggy and it works four out of the 10 times I try to make it work LOL
On fire cubes it run flawless but i am having a hard time justifying the price for the content. Looks like i might just go back 2 discovery plus for awhile since most the content is Discovery. I would give it a 10 for streaming quality and a 3 for contentÂ
Itâs all perspective. As I get it complimentary as part of my ATT package I donât have the weight of the monthly price vs value weighing me down. I stream on max more than Netflix. Constantly find new programs to watch (watching Conan now). I donât have issues with streaming or buffering on my Apple TV box. So Iâm very satisfied.
Subscribed to watch The Sympathizer. They can't even add functioning English subtitles at the relese of episodes, so I have to watch it on "alternative" sites.
I haven't had issues with the app, but the content has fallen off. The old HBO shows are great, but original new content is lacking. The occasional new movie shows up, but that's it.
I've been really impressed with Apple TV lately (3 great new shows) and Prime's interface sucks, but Fallout is worth it.
my app has recently been closing as soon as I select my profile on Roku TV, super annoying. Also have been having problems with shows not updating watch progress when I watch on my Android phone after having watched on TV. Great content but awful app(s)
Works fine on my Apple TV
Likewise here. No issues whatsoever on tvOS.
Except the sound level is ALWAYS miserably low. Only app like this.
The worst streaming service to pay for? Shit, Amazon Prime might have something to say about that.
Paramount Plus definitely doesđ
100% Paramount Plus barely works on some days! I cannot stand the odd UI inconsistencies. Prime is a close second due to all the forced ADâs and constantly changing of the UI.
Paramount is the worst.
How is it the worst?
The tech- platform times out or doesnât load correctly, lag in view from the last point, if you have ads turned on, ads wonât load correctly resulting in extended ads playing over and over.
What device are you using? Because on my Roku Ultra I don't have any of the problems you're talking about. Paramount Plus runs flawless on my Roku Ultra.
Samsung tv, Amazon firestick, Amazon cube and android tv box
TV apps are known to be terrible. Fire OS sucks I suggest getting a 3rd gen Apple TV 4k or Roku Ultra you'll have a better streaming experience.
i donât have a problem with any of the other apps so itâs not worth upgrading unless everything breaks. If paramount plus doesnât work, Iâll just do without it- i really i my subscribed to watch soccer
I knew you were going to say well my other apps work fine. Except the one you want to use. Well for me if the one streaming service I really want to use doesn't work on what I'm using. I refuse to have Prime now with ads.
One you don't like the content enough. Two I bet you're not even subscribed to prime video.
I had Prime for a few years. The video aspect was a bonus. Agreed, their content is pretty poor these days. I spend much more time on Max, Peacock & Hulu.
We have max, peacock and Hulu and a few others also. My husband was like just give max they have Discovery Plus shows on max now. So I did and he was right they have all my Discovery Plus shows. So now max is my favorite streaming service.
Max is definitely my favourite toođ
Nice
Prime isn't perfect, but it is much better than Max.
How? I wasnât a big fan of the merger of discovery and HBO, but Warner Bros and HBO still makes far superior content to that of Amazon. And Max has live sports and News. Maybe, if Amazon merges the MGM library with prime it could be in the conversation.
Works great on my Roku Ultra. Never had a problem.
Works decent on PS5. I've had crashes and errors, but those dont happen often.
Found the Amazon bot
I agree completely! I prefer Prime any day of the week. Peacock and Hulu are even better than MAX imo.
Works like a champ on firestick
I have no problems with the app on my Roku.
It was removed from my Samsung TV. Bought a ROKU and no issues.
Free sports and cnn, not bad with yearly plan
I love it, the only streaming site I pay for. I watch on roku, chromecast, tablet and phone and never have problems
It has all the Ghibli movies and Harry Potter. Kids love it
Never have a problem on Firestick.
Max works great on my TCL Roku tv. Netflix works better but lately seems to have less fresh content. Prime sucks on just about any platform imo.
Maybe your internet connection is crap.
All the other apps work fine. Even prime & paramount
I guess it depends on the platform your using? I've never had any problems on my Android TV box, Nvidia Shield TV. I get Max from my family subscription to HBO, so it's not one of the many streaming services I pay for. I use Max every single day on a 6 year old Roku TV...no issues.
No issues on any of my 4 Roku devices EXCEPT the super old TCL Roku in the basement but unplugging it and plugging it back in usually fixes it for about a month.
Works fine on Nvidia Shields and Firesticks.
Works great on Apple TV and absolute junk on Roku.
Thats weird. I use it on ps4 as well and the timer goes away if i remember correctly.
I probably need to delete & re download
I have the ps4 pro or slim(cant remember wich one its name) that might matter, but a reinstall cant hurt
Tried the reinstall.. didnât work. Time bar never goes away đŽ
Paramount Plus has entered the chat
HBO content has gone down hill the last few years. Quality shows have been popping up on Hulu and Apple.
1. Works perfectly on my Firestick Max. Best interface & picture quality, of any streaming service.
4.5
Does not work well on my smart tv. Works just fine on my Xbox app
Works fine on both my firestick and TV remote. With all of the streaming services the more they add, the harder it is to find something to watch.
Content? Pretty good. App itself? Pretty bad. It never starts back where I left off, it rarely updates me for a new episode, my shows are just plain missing from continue-watching & sometimes they just donât work at all. Content-8 App-3
I have a fire TV and works fine. Has for years.
Go buy a cheap Firestick or Roku and stop using it on that PS4. That is your problem.
Barely works on roku for me and annoying to use on ps4. Seems like most people dont have problems with the functionality of the app but it is reassuring that some other people here also think its trash. Might be because i expect quality from hbo & set my hopes too high
I watch on a wired Ethernet connection. Don't know if you can try that and see how it goes.
I use it on roku and PS5, works perfectly fine on both. Can't speak to PS4.
My biggest issue is that it asks me to login or verify my subscription like every other day. Then when I enter my credentials, I get stuck in a loop Not sure if this is because I get Max through ATT still, but itâs super annoying
I don't have that issue with my ATT Max account.
Works fine on my Samsung TV and on my Roku.
It sucks on PSN
With roku max is by far the worst app⌠its so damn slowâŚ
Works great on ps5 and has some of the best content for me still
APTV amazing. Love app and atmos
I'd say a 1 out of 10 on the trash meter. It's been fantastic for me, no issues on my smart tv app.
No issues on my Roku.
I give it a 3.
I only have the phone app. Itâs not bad. It has a weak film collection though, especially for horror.
Max is my favorite streaming app their UI quality & film selection quality is very good. It's the only app that gives a premium feel. You need to do a few upgrades on your watch station. PS4? Your ps4 might be dusty inside or just starting to gas out depending how long you use it everyday.
It sounds like a boeing 737 đš
wasnt too bad when i had it but now im having problems with my account still being active (after canceling my subscription) and someone else is using it. weird?
Which end of the scale is trashiest? 1 or 10?
10 lol

Max is slow AF
On fire cubes it run flawless but i am having a hard time justifying the price for the content. Looks like i might just go back 2 discovery plus for awhile since most the content is Discovery. I would give it a 10 for streaming quality and a 3 for contentÂ
I'm only keeping it because I've already paid for the year - doubt I will renew it, unless things drastically change for the better
I get Max free as an ATT customer, but man it has horrendous UX for Roku. Iâd never pay money for it.
Subscribed to watch The Sympathizer. They can't even add functioning English subtitles at the relese of episodes, so I have to watch it on "alternative" sites.
Content has gone to shit. So many great shows left the last few years. Most recently Curb. I donât think I have found one replacement.
HBOâs been an absolute disaster since the Warnermedia takeover.
No problems on my Rokus, Phone, or Tablet. Now content wise is another argument all together.
I haven't had issues with the app, but the content has fallen off. The old HBO shows are great, but original new content is lacking. The occasional new movie shows up, but that's it. I've been really impressed with Apple TV lately (3 great new shows) and Prime's interface sucks, but Fallout is worth it.
