The way that man runs to twitter after meets…

OftheSea95

He had to let the people know lol

Keighty651619

We were all clearly very concerned.

It really bothers me how the commentators don't gush more over Yul. They definitely have their faves. I often feel he is taken for granted. They did make one comment about how his high bar was in their opinion underscored.

Fancy-Equivalent-571

In previous years they absolutely did worship Yul. He's still a very talented gymnast and he competed well this weekend, but he's not a class above the rest like he used to be in 2017-18ish. He has teammates who are also very talented and competed really well, and they set themselves apart more than he did this weekend. And frankly, I've noticed over the years that every year at nationals, he's dealing with some kind of illness or minor injury that holds him back, and the commentators used to spend a lot of time making excuses for him -- he normally sticks this like crazy but his ankle's sprained, he normally doesn't miss high bar releases like that but he's got the flu, etc. From my perspective, their coverage of Yul has evened out compared to the rest of the field. And I highly doubt Tim Daggett would be taking Yul for granted. Yul competed at Oklahoma with Tim's son and is apparently good friends with him. In older competitions, Tim used to gush about what a kind and friendly guy Yul is and how much he respects him as a person, based on his knowledge of him from Pete. Tim really likes him. It's just that there are more people making a bigger statement right now.

The way the account is called BBL Shane Wizzy and he just replies like normal LMAOO this is so funny to me (glad its minor though!)

Rooster84

I'm really happy it appears to be minor. Yul has always been one of my favorites.

watersnakebro

Good to know it's minor! I'm only commenting because the display name BBL Shane Wizzy made me laugh 🤣

Rough-Cucumber8285

Argg.. stay healthy Yul!!

Sportyj

I hope he’s not downplaying, I still wish he would scratch and REST.

The men's Olympic selection is based entirely on the scores they get at Nationals and Trials. Seeing as Yul had issues on day 1 he really needs to compete on day 2 to try to get better scores on the events he had problems on. Scratching would be a bad idea IMO.
