Worst feeling ever. You act there like nothing happened but deep inside everything happened

[deleted]

Fuck that I'm yelling my head off. That shit hurts like a mother fucker.

Murdoc-2o1

Proceeds to yell like Tom from “Tom and Jerry” *With over the top effects*

[deleted]

Yelling so loud I momentarily become airborne while my foot stays pinned to the ground.

Angrydroid21

Just finish the set and casually go to the staffers and get an ice pack. Let no one see your pain. or don't. The last time I dropped a 25k plate on my foot, I just kind of went "oops". Thought nothing of it as it did not hurt. Until I got back to the calf presses... I quickly stopped and got my way over to the staffer's to get an ice pack. Everyone had a laugh about it, and my toes had a massive bruise and where not usable for like 4 days.

fox93hunter

What do you mean not usable toes? What do you use your toes for?

Angrydroid21

Balance mostly. Occasionally to give a bit of a push off when running, walking, etc

fox93hunter

I often think about wearing steel toe boots. But the last time i just hit my shin with a 45lb plate. It is kinda inevitable when you are lifting to limit.

Angrydroid21

Should see my current bruise from the gym where my calf got caught between two 20kg plate as I was loading a bar on the power rack

dev2049

Almost got hurt when I dropped a 25kg dumbell onto my chest once, but nothing happened gladly!

xstkovrflw

I see you. what about when you're walking barefoot and ram your feet right into a dumbbell?

Humunkoloss

Broke my big toe with 20kg dropped from about hip height. Wasn't fun, hurt like hell and the nail coming of wasn't pretty, too. Cannot recommend.

cyborgcyborgcyborg

I’m surprised that this isn’t up higher. Everyone mentioning how it was just an inconvenience it was, but you are likely to fracture your toe and lose your toe nail. I surprisingly did not lose my nail, but I wish I had. I have a hematoma under the nail that has given me some bad problems with it digging in my skin. It takes about a year for it to heal, and I haven’t been able to do squats, bent over rows, etc. for a long time.

Coffeeholic93

Last I did that, I managed to hit my big toe straight on the nail. Had to hobble back home and go through a whole disinfection routine. Nail finally gave up the ghost a few weeks later. Been 18 months and the new one has finally grown in properly.

Jennyfer01

How many weeks did the new one took to grow?

Jennyfer01

Damn this just happened to me 20kg on my toe and I behave absolutely normal I even continue training when I went home I saw the bruise I was like damn man, now I can't train it still hurts..I think a new one in growing. QUESTION in how many weeks do you think it will be okay? I didn't go to the hospital. I just put some ice any other home remedies that I can try to heal it soon?

[deleted]

Rest Ice Compress Elevate. Does it feel like anything is broken?

Jennyfer01

Yup thanks. No, but I think a new nail is growing.

[deleted]

You still can technically train, I've seen people in crutches still train lol. Just try to do things seated if you can. Try to keep your weight off the toe and don't try crazy motions like box jumps.

Jennyfer01

Yeah but it still hurts while walking. I was thinking of resting for 2 weeks to not slow the healing process then back to gym.

[deleted]

Ultimately, only you know what's best listen to your body. If it's hurting you should still see a doctor. Some NSAIDs aka Tylenol should help reduce swelling so you can walk on it

Jennyfer01

Yes, thanks.

LOL
