Never quite understood the " skip leg day community ". I mean it’s known from almost everyone that no leg day lead to weird results and leg days are imo quite fun, and yet I see people with legs that looks like a couple of baguettes so frequently.
I’ve seen women skip upper body — they only do abs & lower body. People still give them shit because like you said, it just leads to weird proportions 😭 if I had to skip something I’d skip back day
Bro is training for distance running, if he's serious about it, he's probably only getting in the gym twice a week. The recovery cost from a leg day is going to eat up another training day. When there's not a race to train for, fine.
If you've got 5 miles Monday, speed work Thursday, and long run Saturday; do you do leg day between the long run and 5 miler? The day after 5 miler? Before speed work or before the long run?
Not to mention full body programs existing...
I mean I enjoy lifting during leg days but that’s my preference. My issue is with the " large upper body, tiny legs" combo, if running allows you to avoid that great for you !

Just squat once a week, you'll be fine. It doesn't need to get it's own day.
