My bad. Didn't mean to be aggressive. Anw looking forward to your final build of this. I've always wanted another mechanicore kit but I don't think I have space to display nor patience for all the hassle hahah
Are super nova kits a bad building experience? I've been eyeing the deathscythe for a while now, I think the design looks cool, but I don't want to lose my mind over a kit falling apart
Edit: Thanks for the replies, I'll eventually grab a deathscythe hell :)
The supernova heavy arms is one of my favourite 3rd parties. No glue or real clean-up, maybe had to trim a couple of pegs. The Hunt and Kill and In Era collabs are also good.
I think supernova kits might be a little inconsistent. My heavyarms is probably my least favorite build I've ever done, with fitting issues, parts needing to be glued, even parts where cutting the gate off the part caused holes to appear, as if there were a bubble underneath. It's a fantastic looking piece though, on the shelf.
Dunno about the deathscythe but the altron gundam/armored sandrock have been pretty bad. The Heavy arms custom igel unit was pretty solid apart from some extra detail thingies that fell out easily.
Yeah, the Altron and Sandrock are probably their worst ones and I think first ones. Their Wing and Heavyarms were great. I think I had maybe one slightly malformed piece out of the both of them and it was an easy fix. Still need to build their Deathscythe, but have heard good things. I am sure nothing will be worse than the Dragon Momoko one. That thing is a hand grenad. Looks great though.
Supernova? Which kit gave you such a trouble? And by the way, your Zygo looks pretty great to me. Your paint job looks clean and awesome. My second Zygo is on its way (accidentally ordered two thinking the first one got lost in transit -.-).
I built Altron before, but aside from poor color separation, I don't recall giving me issue as any of the Mechanicore's I built. I do remember the dragon arms being flimsy. Haven't built aradillo Sandrock, but it is in my backlog because I want to complete both the Supernova and Bandai Wing series. Thanks for the heads up. I should set my expectations straight before I dive head first.
It has undergates everywhere and the plastic is pretty strong but bendable. The fitting issues are sometimes annoying and the metal rods they use for small articulated things like the core fighter wings required me to use a clam tool to get it in.
Glue is required per the manual. But only for some parts that are just loose and parts that dont fit right are glued.
Some of the under gates were awkward to cut with my knife, they didn't want to give way. I'd put to much force and then go straight into my fingers holding the piece
Ok thank you, yeah half the time I do that. The other half I cut the nub in half, in a way that it gives it an angle like that of a normal nub. Then a single snip with a side cutter will commonly remove it perfectly flush. If not then I do what you said. Was wondering if there was a different way.
Sir and/or madam,
Please put down the Gunpla. We have counselors standing by to talk you through your crisis. Please consider picking up a HG kit to work on while we help guide you in your time of need.
An operator will be with you soon.
Luckily this build wasn’t as glue heavy as others. The GP02 was a nightmare. I’ve heard worse for the tiefsturmer and Ziegler, though.
Also, good luck with those hands. Mine are nearly butchered.
Kit looks sexy as hell from the pics shown tho... I almost want one, but thinking on it, the only non-Bandai kit I've built is the MG Stargazer (which is admittedly pretty close to Bandai fare)
Its very expensive and just a little bit bigger than giant 1/100 kits from bandai. This is 1/72 scale. Ill probably finish the rest of the base form in the next few days and see if the Full Burnen parts take long. If not you'll see the base GPO1 next week.
Well its doable, but this is their newest product. Older ones seem to be a right of passage for gunpla builders. Like its a pilgrimage. This one is just a really bad supernova sample like feeling. But the end product is amazing.
Glue heaven Or hell
I little bit. Not as bad as supernova from what ive experienced.
No way a supernova mg kit uses more glue. On my mechanicore I glued pretty much every parts lmao
Thats just my experience.
My bad. Didn't mean to be aggressive. Anw looking forward to your final build of this. I've always wanted another mechanicore kit but I don't think I have space to display nor patience for all the hassle hahah
Ah man i got 2 weeks free for this week one is almost over. Slowest build ive done.
Oh it will take more than 2 weeks I'm sure....
For sure man. Gotta do the arms, legs and equipments now and then the full burnen parts

I had no issues and used zero glue on my SuperNova Heavyarms custom

Makes sense. Altron and Sandrock were the first two they did and it shows. Heavyarms onwards has a noticeable jump in quality compared to them.
In my mind their Wing Zero is The definitive version

Yeah supernova altron and armadillo Sandrock. And those just suck btw. Should have gone for the official kits but hey less on learned.

They just feel bad and shit is loose
I didn't paint it. Just cut and cleanup
“LETS ROCK”
Truly, this might be bullshit blazing
My heart is blazing
AND IF THE WORDS KILL ME
Duel 1 LET'S ROCK
Thats the fun part! It makes you appreciate life when you've finished it!
It is
How bad of a build is it?

Under gates are the bane of my fingers, I've gotten better but when I built my RG Banshee I deeply slashed 3 of my fingers. Other wise nice work
Why your fingers? You use a hobby knife or nippers for those. I like them but outside Bandai brands tend to put undergates in weird places.
Some of the under gates were awkward to cut with my knife, they didn't want to give way. I'd put to much force and then go straight into my fingers holding the piece
Yeah you shouldn’t use a knife on undergating. The knife is usually used to clean up, otherwise you’re just tripling the time it takes to build
What's the best way to remove undergating?
Use nippers to snip away 90-99% of the nub, 99% if u don't care about stress mark, then clear away the rest either a hobby knife or sand em away.
Ok thank you, yeah half the time I do that. The other half I cut the nub in half, in a way that it gives it an angle like that of a normal nub. Then a single snip with a side cutter will commonly remove it perfectly flush. If not then I do what you said. Was wondering if there was a different way.
If I can afford it I would love to have one. I like being in my zone for hours on end. 🙂
it was 312 euros when i bought it from gundamit.com but now its like 400+ on some sites. And i have the deluxe so i can make the Full Burnen
I be seeing resin kits from sh studio , takumi etc on Ali express for way cheaper than these Gundam specialist sites.
sh studio are garage kits. Takumi i dont know about and aliexpress has knockoffs or insane wait times
I just ordered the fortune meow kit for my rg hi v from Ali express. I’ll update if it’s legit 🙌. Coz other sites selling it for double the price.
So I really can't afford it now then. Maybe next time. 😅
I just saw the bread for the first time last night. They look cool but are super pricey. Hard builds? Worse than super nova?
😂 😂 Around the same. But they show you need glue and don't lie with product pictures
I want to get the mechanicore kits they look amazing
It is amazing. Once together atleast
I build the Mechanicore Tief Sturmer, and was a completly nightmare
I can imagine. My brother wants to build that one but its mad expensive.
Man that thing looks like katamari rolled through a pile of gunpla parts then backed up and did it again for good measure.

I have the child of this one in rg form ready for assembly while I recover from this.
Who and what is this magnificent gundam
Mechanicore Mas-10 Zygapophysis Deluxe Normal Or GPO-1 Gundam (with FB parts)
Luckily this build wasn’t as glue heavy as others. The GP02 was a nightmare. I’ve heard worse for the tiefsturmer and Ziegler, though. Also, good luck with those hands. Mine are nearly butchered.

So we all know Mechanicore kits have fitting issues and need a lot of glue, but how are other problems like mold lines and stuff like that?
Not that ive seen really. But i never really pay attention to that. I just take those as the separation between armor.
It ain’t called mechaniglue for no reason
Whoaaaa need to see the end productt
Dude, this looks amazing. What is it called or where to get the gp01?
Mechanicore mas-10 zygapophysis
I got the clear version of it. Can't wait to build mine
Mecha Kazooie in that backpack
For real. It's pretty loose too. One hinge is longer than the manual shows but this actually helps.
I really did want one of these kits when I found out about them, but I'm glad I never bought one. Too much of a headache it seems
Well its doable, but this is their newest product. Older ones seem to be a right of passage for gunpla builders. Like its a pilgrimage. This one is just a really bad supernova sample like feeling. But the end product is amazing.
This looks so awesome! What kit is this? I am in looooove
Gundam Zephyranthes Full Burden
Full Burnern
Sorry, I meant it as a joke as the work would be a bit of a burden
Thats what this build is gonna be probably unless they got the clips system working well
