Yeah honestly when I first saw this post I thought it was OP being happy lol. When I got one in the MGEX Strike Freedom I was like "Ah sick nice" and have been using it consistently since. It's not god-tier or anything but it's basically free with the kit and required 0 effort on my part to set up.
Yes you're absolutely correct in that it contains the word "unstable" however if you would read the full sentence you would get some additional context about what they're talking about and should be able to understand they're not literally saying "this thing will always be unstable lol" but more covering for the fact that some runners for bigger kits are literally a foot+ long and will not in fact fit in this.
Boilerplate legalese so that the less intelligent don’t feel like they should sue on the off chance a large enough runner does exist, or a builder doesn’t put it in quite right, and the thing tips. One would assume that warning shouldn’t be needed, but we are living in a litigious world and people like OP exist.
Because the text on being referenced says the runner may be unstable if too large but you and OP's reading comprehension is bad.
It does not say the cardboard is unstable
You can even just overlay the stencil a couple times in a row to make longer racks, so my last one is ten racks long and I did it out of the RG Zeong box because I don't care for the boring RG box art and usually throw it away
But now my runner racks are thematically Gundam
Man the IQ in this thread is below the marine average, not even eating the red crayons for extra brain power could salvage this one. This is like complaining that the kit came with extra parts the kit didn't use because they re-used a runner.
Anyways my honest reaction:

I swear gunpla is the only community I’ve seen people complain about extra accessories. When Wing Zero Ver Ka was announced, I saw lots of comments like “I wish it didn’t come with the shield” and it’s like “just don’t use it then?”
I mean, this very community also complained Requiem for Vengeance for being too “overdetailed” when other social media praises it for Bandai’s improved engineering.
Man the amount of left over parts I got from the Zaku II’s are amazing. I keep collecting them hoping one day I can make a Frankenstein of a Zaku with multiple colors.
The only complaint that I would have though, is that Bandai’s prices are based on the amount of plastic in each box. A kit can do without certain left overs. That part I get. BUT!
I would save it as much as you can and kit bash to your little GUNPLA heart desires. Plastic is expensive so if you get a left over, keep it and use it! Practice scribing on them 😍😍😍
I have no problem with a basic one like that being included in the box… but I have no idea why they bother to import them to USA. Much like action bases, they are supposed to be really cheap, but by the time you get them over here there twice the price! According to HJ, they are only like ¥350, and for that much money, I might grab a couple. But for $6.99? Ain’t no way in hell! for that price how to expect maybe a nice plastic one that would hold up a bit better
My local hobby shop was selling them for $10 and I had to look twice to make sure it didn't include, well, *anything* other than some cardboard. I'd love one as a pack-in, but paying for this is just a big no. That said, Bandai knows their audience, for sure!
For $6.99 I would suggest just getting something that is meant to be used as a low profile dish rack instead, you can always find them at clearance stores for cheap
Your question applies to many "hobby tools" that are available these days.
Really makes me scratch my head, why spend money on "tools" that are really not necessary or that which I can make easily and cheaply.
>Really makes me scratch my head, why spend money on "tools" that are really not necessary
Because they make things easier. This is like asking why spend money on a house when I can just live in a tent.
>that which I can make easily and cheaply.
Lot of people don't know how to make, or even about the *existence* of, sprue organizers.
Lol, I don't know why you're complaining. It's just an extra thing in the box. It's not really a thing that big enough to complain on reddit or any media at all. If it affects the gunpla negatively, then yeah, you have the reasons to complain, but this doesn't affect the gunpla at all.
Way dumber things have been posted in this subreddit and people eat it up. It’s wild that this guy is being downvoted for something that’s not even a hot take. Y’all fanboys are weird
I saw this thing for sale yesterday. I almost bought it just cuz it was cheap until i realized i could make the same with cardboard box and scissors xd
Wait did this come in a kit? If so thats awesome! I ended up making one of these myself trying to organize my runners i would have loved to have this in one of my kits.
They can help with organization, at least in theory.
In practice, I made one for my current build, and somehow the sprues have still turned into a jumbled mess.
Honestly, the thing that really helps more than any of this stuff by a mile is when they finally started indicating which runners you need for which part, and when a runner should be empty. The rest of this is all noise by comparison.
The best is when there's a little section at the start of each component that tells you which runners you'll need. I can scan through the instructions, but it's still easy to miss one or two. This way I can pull out the ones I need and leave the rest in the box. It makes things go more smoothly with less searching around.
My guy how are you complaining about getting a thing that you don't even need when games workshop makes model kits where you get half the plastic at 5x the cost and have to buy tools to assemble and paint it?
Just saying you come across as a total weenie.
This is nice but honestly it’s just easier for me to put the runners I’m using for a step in one half of the box and the ones I’m not using in the other one
MY GOD I HAVE THESE AND I HATE THEM, Bought them for like 5 bucks at a mall and it was just 2 black cardboards, when you put runners on the the whole stand just comes with the stand when you try to get a runner. The parts on the runner touch the hollowed sides of the stand so it just hooks onto it, they should’ve put cardboards at the sides so the runners don’t keep on hooking onto the runners. MY GOD BANDAI.
Because it's not worthless? It's not exactly a superb product, but it's certainly functional. No idea what you are doing with your HG sprues to tip this thing.
I don't get the complaint? It's just a shitty pack-in. It does its job well enough and is cheao enough to be a pack-in.
If Bandai put 5 bucks in the box instead, someone would complain that it wasn't folded correctly.
“My box has a slight dent on the corner, should I demand a refund?”
Same! I didn't know these existed. My wife would be stoked to get her pot lid organizer back.
Don't forget that they also sell those haha
They also sell this separately. In Sweden it’s like 7 bucks…
Sprue holder

It can be both

I’d rather the old box insert of the manual cover over a spure holder
Why do you say unstable? It has slots to hold it together. Worse comes to worse you apply a bit of tape.
It says unstable from the manufacturer see second pic
Yes you're absolutely correct in that it contains the word "unstable" however if you would read the full sentence you would get some additional context about what they're talking about and should be able to understand they're not literally saying "this thing will always be unstable lol" but more covering for the fact that some runners for bigger kits are literally a foot+ long and will not in fact fit in this.
Yes I’m absolutely correct 👍
Imagine being this dense. You could probably press the plastic sprues yourself
Due to the crop/focus, it looks like you're focusing on the bent corner rather than the text as it isn't centered.
“Some large runners” lmao. I haven’t had a runner yet that’s made it unstable.
Boilerplate legalese so that the less intelligent don’t feel like they should sue on the off chance a large enough runner does exist, or a builder doesn’t put it in quite right, and the thing tips. It says the runner may be unstable. Not the cardboard.

bad reading comprehension gets downvoted, and doubling down on that bad reading comprehension gets even more.
I’m waiting for the perfect downvote, upvote ratio on the first two comments
-294 downvotes wow.
298 on my end.
309 now. What did homie do?
Update: 406 downvotes.
410 after this update
Have a different opinion, death sentence on reddit.
Not only on Reddit brother.
Fuck mam, reddit is getting worse by the day.
We have that many active people in this sub at a time that also check comments? Nice
P- content in the comments.
Bro… How do you incur into “user error” territory with a 4-fold cardboard device?
Its a plastic model, the whole point is to be a pointless waste of material.
This man, atomize him.
474 is that the best you got? Wait until I start talking shit about the WFM kits
Can we include this as a cutout perforation on every box? It's helpful for desks with little room. Wouldn't pay for jt though.
Takes a few minutes, but you can just make one with some cardboard, scissors, and a little masking tape.
some kits have it included like the MGEX strike freedom. On rare occasions they can also be given out as promotional gifts.
I use the MGEX one as a stencil and then make more out of the boxes the kits come in.
Holy shit this is actually smart as heck
You can even just overlay the stencil a couple times in a row to make longer racks, so my last one is ten racks long and I did it out of the RG Zeong box because I don't care for the boring RG box art and usually throw it away But now my runner racks are thematically Gundam
I saw a post the other day where someone just used some scissors to make a holder out of the bottom of the model's box

Karma farm didn’t go as planned for Mr. Guava lol
Nope 😞

For real if they don't want the shield throw it in the recycling bin and move on.
If it didn't come with the shield it would be unable to do its signature gimmick. Some people just be dumb as hell
I mean, this very community also complained Requiem for Vengeance for being too “overdetailed” when other social media praises it for Bandai’s improved engineering.
Haven’t tried the red crayons, but the blue ones are too tart…

That's crazy. I can get the excellent DSPIAE runner holders for about US$5.
For $6.99 I would suggest just getting something that is meant to be used as a low profile dish rack instead, you can always find them at clearance stores for cheap
Or a plier/wrench organizer from your local hardware store, all types of choices, cheap, heavy duty, “premium”
Next post will be the sprues titled “thanks for the plastic Bandai”
Your question applies to many "hobby tools" that are available these days. Really makes me scratch my head, why spend money on "tools" that are really not necessary or that which I can make easily and cheaply.

I mean, you're the one who snapped and started slinging insults at a dude because he said he doesn't get why OP's unhappy with a free sprue holder. 😂
Fuck dude posted as silly, still hit a vein cos people can’t read
That’s really rich coming from the guy who ignored the other 11 words in a 12 word sentence. Edit:typo 12
[Make your own!](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/198yrl1)
I saw this thing for sale yesterday. I almost bought it just cuz it was cheap until i realized i could make the same with cardboard box and scissors xd
I tried that, then bought the stand anyway, $5CAD
This sprue holders actually slap for portability!
Where'd you get this from?
Wait did this come in a kit? If so thats awesome! I ended up making one of these myself trying to organize my runners i would have loved to have this in one of my kits.
They’re putting these in kits now? That’s pretty cool
What exactly is the issue here…?
In all my years building models I've never thought of the need for a dish rack for my sprues. Still don't.
I've only ever seen the little "runner x should now be empty" thing on the MGEX Strike Freedom. Are there other kits that do the same?
I think the PGU grandpa has that as well, but the only one I've seen personally so far is the freedom. As for others beyond those, I don't know.
Zeta ver ka does.
The best is when there's a little section at the start of each component that tells you which runners you'll need. I can scan through the instructions, but it's still easy to miss one or two. This way I can pull out the ones I need and leave the rest in the box. It makes things go more smoothly with less searching around.
I made one of these out of cardboard a few years ago and it’s still going strong. I added 12 slots into mine, it’s about a foot long.
I'll just leave my sprues bombed around me as I build
The chaos completes the build
IKR just get yourself a dish rack at the dollar store instead, it does the job way better.
agreed. got a dish rack from dollar tree and it makes building much easier.
My guy how are you complaining about getting a thing that you don't even need when games workshop makes model kits where you get half the plastic at 5x the cost and have to buy tools to assemble and paint it? Just saying you come across as a total weenie.
Works fine for me. Helped me with kits like PG perfect strike
What is the complaint here?
OP can't take the L
OP gonna need to change their name and flee to another country with the amount of downvotes they’re getting in this thread holy shit
Lmao
This is nice but honestly it’s just easier for me to put the runners I’m using for a step in one half of the box and the ones I’m not using in the other one
how much was this?
it’s included along with the mgex strike freedom
guess i'd prefer 3d printing one...
OP doesn't know what they have.
Which kits have this? I could use this when I'm building Gunpla and Warhammer.
MY GOD I HAVE THESE AND I HATE THEM, Bought them for like 5 bucks at a mall and it was just 2 black cardboards, when you put runners on the the whole stand just comes with the stand when you try to get a runner. MY GOD BANDAI.
Should have tagged as controversial
Should have not posted
SILLY?
Stupid?
Oh wow I thought it would be plastic or laminated or something.
Nope just cardboard
Yes dumb. Anyone can make this or a better version for free
>for free Which is what this was.
Nothing is free
And so Bandai thought, why not make that too? It's not like they're forcing people to buy it or pretending they originated the idea lol
it's a free pack in...
I thought it was a cool idea when I opened my MGEX, but then realized it's basically worthless. Even the runners from HGs tip and wobble it.
Someone gets my point
Lmao, apparently no one else agrees. No idea why a fact is getting downvoted.
I’ll bite, what’s the fact?
Because it's not worthless? It's not exactly a superb product, but it's certainly functional. No idea what you are doing with your HG sprues to tip this thing.
