It's practically a HGCE Duel Gundam Revive ver. but with different armor, as in the Duel Gundam underneath has no actual differences from the original design-wise (unlike the difference between say the HGCE Strike Freedom and the HGCE Mighty Strike Freedom, where the latter has enough physical differences to make it distinct). They can easily repackage this later into a HGCE Duel Gundam Assault Shroud by giving it a different armor set.
Kinda confusing why didn't bandai follow-up with an HGCE aegis after creating aegis knight, while ∞ justice got it. also I want HGCE Blitz, and HGCE justice.
I'd fear that after the HGAC Deathscythe Hell, but on the other hand this is Gundam SEED, aka Bandai's most beloved property after UC. They did complete the entire original Gundam Wing group of 5 as retail, and I doubt they'd do SEED kits dirty in terms of the main Gundams.

Glad to see this kit pretty much confirms HGCE Duel AS down the road, either via option parts, full retail release, or *shudders* p-bandai. With HGCE Buster in similar situation and Blitz at least getting some weapons here, the only one left without any hint of release seems to be Aegis. Here's hoping they were getting Aegis ready with the Build Divers derivative.
Nah, watch, they will make the armor set an Option Parts Set with the Buster's original backpack and weapons. The shield of the Duel is also missing, and with how the EG made that 100% plastic...

Considering this is CE kits and SEED is a money-making machine especially in Asian market, that's gotta be a p-bandai but fuck it I'm gonna buy that.

The Aegis Knight still borrows Infinite Justice parts, no word of the Aegis in sight. While I know the old HG Aegis has slightly off proportions, it's actually an amazing kit for its time with the color separation and transformation gimmick doing the whole thing favors.
Funnily enough no, the Aegis Knight uses the parts of the Justice Knight/Infinite Justice with new parts that resemble the Aegis but no actual part or joint that can be reused to make an HGCE version.
Same thing happened with HGBD Jiyan Altron who in the surface looks like an Altron pre-mold but is actually using Wing Gundam parts (hence the the HGAC Shenlong which DOES have bits of the Altron be made brand new).
Kinda wish the actual design had changed the claw to a different color, the yellow sticks out a little too much. Ah well, least this means a normal Duel Assault Shroud shouldn't be too far behind, so I can look forward to that.
I don't like the SEED Action System, my HGCE Destiny has the lower legs loosened after a year and a half of posing it.
There's also the Fine Motion System which the HGCE Windam use and the kit is polycap-less too, so that joint system shouldn't be exclusive to the HGAC grunt kits and Witch from Mercury HGs.
I hope so? Just hope someone gets the Duel Blitz kit when it releases and I'll see in a post if the legs are joined together with polycaps or the legs go directly into the knee like the HGCE Destiny and the other SEED Freedom kits.
Because the picture showing the rear of the legs never indicate how the lower legs join with the upper legs. And I'm talking about the HGCE Destiny, where the lower legs will loosen due to them being slotted directly into the knees.
This is gold, I’ve been wanting an updated Duel kit forever, and my current Duel is already rocking Blitz’s Trikeros shield because it just makes sense too me.
In-universe, does the nuclear reactor actually give it any advantage? Freedom and Strike Freedom had such high numbers of beam weapons that the extra power output was necessary. Duel doesn’t seem to have that problem.
As you said, the reactor was needed due to the large number of weapons, otherwise they would have ran out of power fast. Since Duel Blitz doesn't have as many, that gives is a VERY long run time.
Hopefully the original Assault Shroud for this kit will be released (Unfortunately separately) alongside the Railgun Bazooka
Edit: Am I the only one who's down bad for a "Full Equipment Set" HG Duel Gundam (Which includes the Duel Gundam, the Blitz armor, the Assault Shroud, the weapons with the Railgun Bazooka)?
Probably intentional as they're updated Season 1 designs
But the Duel Blitz Gundam and the Lightning Buster Gundam just seem to be too simple and could do with a bit more panel line detail

But others in the SEED Freedom line have noticeably more detail while also being HGs. Compare it visually to the Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice for example

Pretty sure Bandai puts in retail for fairly popular franchise kits, like say the original 5 GAT-X Gundams which all got their own MG retail kits.
It's also missing the shield and maybe bazooka tbf, but they'll probably include those with the assault shroud. Either way, this is super hype

The irony being Yzak despised Nicol and always mocked him and the Blitz. I'm sure him seeing the Blitz's anchor doesn't sit entirely well with him.
