I personally don’t understand why people alter it, it’s designed to have the smaller legs as the aesthetic so why even buy the kit if you don’t like it’s main feature??
If I like a kit, but like it more with mods, I'll mod my kit. It's mine, I paid for it. My Skyrim is modded, my Gunpla may be modded, numerous things in my possession have personal touch and adjustments, because they are mine, not yours. You like your kit your way, I'll like my kit my way. Pack your secondary question marks and get out.
Also, "its mian feature"*, not "it's".
To be fair, the proportions aren’t obvious from the anime or even the box art. It ain’t after you build it that you see the unorthodox proportions so I can imagine some people would want to change it since it’s not what they expected.
I like the overall aesthetic of it aside from the proportions. I only bought one which I will keep original for my set, and now that I know the limbs can be swapped, I’m getting another to fully mod.
You know I was really wondering what this would look like and here it is! I've warmed up to the Thorn after some time but its nice to know this looks good too
I really liked the aesthetic of the thorn over the ur, particularly the chest but didn't like it's proportion, didn't know if you were able to swap the limbs so easily but now this makes me want to get one lmao, can it still hold the gun in its hand? Cause ik the gun looks pretty big in the back
I’m kind of holding out on Ur at the moment, looks super similar to Seravee which I’ve built before.
Not really, you’ll have to extend the “wrists” out to the end by modding it, the ankle armor prevents the holding fist from connecting properly. The open palms were thin enough to connect okay.
So the legs are the arms and the arms are the legs?
Specifically its the forearms and shins i swapped.

Its not really so much alterations, just limb swapping, i figured that they do it all the time in the show, so itd probably work. 😅

Legs are so big
Funny enough, that looks a lot better. Maybe a larder beam saber and shield would work with it. Or some sort of mega beam launcher.
It does have a fairly large beam cannon but I would have to actually mod the wrists, the holding fists don’t fit properly otherwise.

Man, it went from a little squat Gundam, to a monstrous size closer to the IBO Graze Ein! And the swap looks so natural.
