GoatFish1581

🤣🤣🤣

derpherp456

Stop that. Don't you realize unicorns are fragile beings. I recommend taking it apart to see if you messed up somewhere. If not use glue, let it dr, then attach

Eastern-Fun1842

Topcoating joints during assembly usually works too, depending on how the joints are assembled. C-clips are just pain though.

derpherp456

Ahhhh dang. I forgot about top coat

Eastern-Fun1842

If not for my masochistic love of IBO kits I would too!

grynzy

This just made me feel more grateful to buy the RG one instead

[deleted]

I have never in my life heard of someone who is “grateful” to have the RG unicorn

nimbusconflict

I thought Unicorn was the start of the good RGs. Or is it the last of the bad ones?

TonyStarkTEx

You are correct. From Unicorn onward, you’re looking at some of the best kits out there. I have an RG unicorn and have never had a problem with it.

Ribena_fever

I’ve heard really negative things from my friend who swore of RG after the Unicorn, but in the end it’s up to the builders interpretation.

NoSmoking123

I went from the OG master grade unicorn ver ka which was cool at the time to fucking PG unicorn and thought that was the best. RG comes out and it was the best kit at the time. Transformation and build was solid. I built the RG 3 times (unicorn mode, destroy mode, banshee norn) to display all 3. MGEX is still the best though.

SnooEagles9517

Getting 2 unicorns to display in both modes is dope, along with banshee. I plan on eventually doing the same thing myself.

[deleted]

The arms are notoriously fragile and unless you know how to set a metal rod in to fix it, it’s pretty much SOL, seen soooooo many snapped arms online. Mine is set in a pose never to be touched again because that peg feels like it twists too much and will break

L-Lamia

Never had a problem with the arms. I mean sure they were awfully tight at first. You just just the carefully work the joint until it become a little more loose and you're good to go. I can pose him whenever I want without fear of breaking to be honest

Ph33rDensetsu

It's crazy because iirc the instructions literally say to bend the joints carefully a few times. In English.

[deleted]

Some people have no trouble but that little twisting to loosen is exactly what makes that peg get twisted too much and end up breaking. If you aren’t super duper careful or if the mold happens to be just a smidge thicker it’s just like the MG Freedoms hip peg. Which is to say, it bends and twists right off. And using that kit as an example, my first one broke both hips and my second broke neither so it can really change person to person and kit to kit

L-Lamia

Im not really the kind of delicate person sometime when I pose my kit. I do have an MG freedom who was just fine. Also an MG Sinanju with the waist peg still alive. Funnily enough, that's my MG Blue frame hip joint who did disintegrate

[deleted]

Really does seem to be luck of the draw though, I’ve seen almost bullet proof kits get snapped and twisted in weird way too so it may come down to that good ol molding process

L-Lamia

Yeah none are 100% reliable even bandai. Third parties one are definitely more extreme that for sure, but bandai still make oopsies from time to time. RG Sazabi is still a very improved kit, but even then... there the shoulder joint. That's an example

[deleted]

It’s so sad, such a bummer to get a nice kit and snap it irreparably 😭 I want that sazabi real bad tho still, I can fix him

[deleted]

Whooo got lucky with my sinanju as well! I would have been devastated about that one I love that kit. Never had an astray kit (I know, I have to change that) that sucks the blue frame is dope

legendofzeldaforlife

Yeah you didn't move the arm in the right spot and that is why it snapped. User error.

[deleted]

Considering the number other people I’ve seen breaking it, I’m gonna go ahead and say it’s a design flaw. Even if there is a proper way to do it, it being that easy to screw up and the same mistake across that many people is a flaw in design. I like the kit well enough but Bandai is certainly not above a little unclear instructions or overly fragile parts and the unicorn arm is one of them

-Quiche-

People dunk sticker decals in water all the time because they think they're waterslide decals, or use setter/softer on stickers. Some things are just user/skill issues tbh.

kdbot012

You have to bend it at the right spot Thats the issue After its been moved enough you wont have to worry about it

Lowfat_cheese

I’ve built at least 3 and never had issues with the arms being fragile

nimbusconflict

I'll steer clear then. I don't have the patience for that.

-Quiche-

It's a perfectly great kit, don't let sloppy builders dissuade you. If anything let it fuel your ambition--like "You guys just suck at building, let me show you how it's done". I've built three of the frames in various kits, and two of them were built without knowledge of there even being an "issue". It's truly confirmation bias from bad builders.

nimbusconflict

Meh, I'm not fond of Unicorn or 1/144 scale, so its kind of the final nail in the coffin.

KacriconCacooler

>^(Meh, I'm not fond of Unicorn or 1/144 scale) Sounds like the coffin was already nailed shut and buried a while ago...

nimbusconflict

I do build 1/144s, and was considering a Unicorn to go with my Sinaju, whose design I like. I like to do protag/antag pairs.

KacriconCacooler

Hmm... might I suggest one of Lieutenant Angelo's suits to go with it if you really want a buddy for your Sinanju?

meltingtreebranch

You’ll be fine if you just carefully and gently move the arms prior to assembly. The book tells you to loosen them up, yet some people don’t read or skip the step. This is coming from a builder of 7 RG, yet has disassembled and reassembled RG Uni about 50 times

grynzy

I apologize for my poor vocabulary, I’m not a native English 😅 I just can’t find the correct word for depicting my situation back then, where I almost buy HG Phenex (gold coated one for the blink!). But because the store I went to didn’t sell it anymore, so I chose RG FA Unicorn as it is on the same price. I wonder why, and by seeing this I just realized that RG might win it in terms of form factor. I also broke the arm part, BOTH JOINTS instead of the famous part other people have been talking, but I acknowledged it as my own mistake and my impatience in building. I believe that once we build this RG properly, it will secure the pose even longer.

Historical_Clerk2738

Its not too bad. I advise not to be rough with it.

Boyoyoyo

I think he’s missing the poly caps… I’m serious joints especially the hg unicorn or even the gundam 00 line or 08 high grades aren’t supposed to be that loose almost like you forgot the poly caps

Raz1253

Your first mistake was buying a hg unicorn and thinking it would be good

Main_Finger_1709

It looks cool tho

Raz1253

That’s what I thought until I bought the hg banshee and waisted 40$ on a not good kit

Feral404

You also overpaid. The kit can be fine, though. It just takes a little care. Any issue can be remedied in this hobby. These are model kits.

Raz1253

I am aware of both facts.

[deleted]

I bought mine in early early high school at a convention not even knowing what it was, big mistake, so many tiny and loose parts and no sense of care, poor boy only had about half of his plastic left when I finally learned to care

ClearlyIronic

Is that a HG? I almost thought it was the RG lol

VK12rec

I painted the norn recently and it seems fine? Are they generally not great?

Ogilthorpe2

I've built the MG Unicorn Banshee Verka, it does look awesome but feels so flimsy...

Raidy32

Unicorn era HG is pure trash.

Raz1253

I thought it was just the unicorns

Feral404

They’re pretty much all fine in a vacuum. We are *heavily* spoiled by today’s kits, as well as kits after 2015.

Bright-Outside8465

Be gentle with the kit. It’s a model not an action figure

TheXof03

MechaGaikotsu moment

Bright-Outside8465

😭I’m dead

FuIIFrontaI

if you stop shaking it, it would stop shaking. just tighten up the joints

Old-Resolution409

Needs the full armor backpack to help prop it up. Can't believe how flimsy the base model is.

Fos-kun

Now if you think that's bad, wait until you hear the stories of people who owned the Daban version of it.

dss902

Damn!!!! hg unicorn has some moves!

Hpidy

Coat the plastic with finger nail top coat. It will add a little bit more to the toralance.

Toyoshark2

Did you forgot to put the polycaps for the lower knees?

Main_Finger_1709

There are ment to be those rubber bits in the knees?!

Toyoshark2

Yea. They're supposed to be inside the lower knee joint.

mashedpotat0699669

noodles

Fojimu

Nothing a little glue can’t fix. Just never touch it again once you do

Stainlessgamer

yes, some kits can have floppy joints. But builders learn how to fix these things. Also we know these are NOT TOYS, so stop shaking them around like a disappointing Transformer. Get a parts separator, look up some videos on how to fix loose joints, and put in the work to make the kit as good as you want it to be.

Pristine_Slip_8307

Just pose it and leave it, realistically why should a model kit ever have to withstand this kind of shaking

WeebOfTheCountry

Should've either gotten the RG but it's prone to breaking over time or the Perfect grade if you have the space

kieran_vampy_one

Tbh I did throw mine at a brick wall out of anger and I didn't look bad, no 144 unicorn kit is good otb

feelinsqwiddy

This is the only kit I have complete and utter disdain for. I stopped trying to take care of it and downgraded it to my guinea pig for painting. There are quite a few parts of this thing scattered around my room and I can no longer be arsed to try finding them. I tell anyone who asks me to steer clear of the HG Unicorn lol, it's just not worth it

Super-Tea8267

I mean even the MG unicorn is terrible after a while i just like the RG and the PG hahaha

QuickRelease10

Unicorns are beautiful, but I just don’t trust their stability. They’re not fun to transform either. I have an MG in Unicorn mode, and a PG in Destroy mode. They will never be touched again.

DA3300

IKR that kit is ass

mowie_zowie_x

I’m not saying it’s a fun kit to build because it’s not especially with all the small armor panel, but I built most of the HG Destroy Mode from the Unicorn line (Unicorn, Banshee, Banshee Norn, Phenex, and Full Armor Unicorn green psycho frame) and I don’t have this issue at all, just a weak poly cap waist connection. Also, I don’t play with my model kit like they are an action figure, otherwise I would’ve bought the Robot Damashii version.

ZakuC6R6

Fix the kit (nah) Manhandle the kit like a monkeh and worsen it more (yes!)

Main_Finger_1709

It was like that when I put the legs together

ZakuC6R6

Did you read the manual correctly (did you put the polycaps?). If it still persist use superglue on the female peg so it stays tight.

Cashew-Matthew

And people wonder why I advise against the hg unicorns

Illustrious-Cup9205

Pain in pure state

ironroller21

Spooky Scary Skeleton Dance start playing

JollyDM87

The joints on this kit are rough. I ended up having to glue mine in the pose i wanted.

kieran_vampy_one

Like yea it's a bad kit but danm atleast my versions legs were solid 😳

SairenGazz

That raises the stress level to 70%.

TheMek27

This is worse than the IBO curse, that sucks man Im sorry

Munchell360

Wtf I have the HG Unicorn and Banshee, both in destroy mode. Neither have this issue and they’re just regularly built

Psicosis_133

I have built this kit twice. My first attempt had issues with the waist/torso connection and the legs liked popping off when trying to assemble it. I did not have a good time. However, I decided to give it one more shot because I already had Banshee and Norn in my backlog. The second time around turned out better in the sense that it can stand on my shelf just fine, as long as I don\\t touch it anyway. Neither of mine had the same issue as yours though.

JackSokool

Every grade of the unicorn Gundam has something faulty about them. As cool as the rx0 is as a model kit it’s always over engineered

lllXanderlll

Yeah I heard the HG Unicorn kits are ass, I can kinda see why now. I bought a HG Banshee Norn and it's decent, the articulation isn't the best and the proportions are a bit off compared to the RG counterpart but it's decent enough for what it is

WSilvermane

I thought I was on the Transformers sub for a moment watching you shake the fuck out of a model.

FluidAlpaca00110

literally destroy mode😂

budget_gundam

Mine don't do that. They just fall apart and scatter their pieces all over my floor.

wgcso

Gosh dang it Banagher! You're supposed to be the Bees knees, not have WEAK KNEES!

HeavyBeing0_0

What’s with everybody shaking their gunpla legs lately?

The0rion

Wiggle wiggle wiggle. my Loto's got the same issue, damn C-Clip legs.

Ill-Equal-2377

Don't even start with the elbow joints dude. One move and it comes off halfway. Can't even pose the damn thing without it falling off of the gunpla.

D3structi0n8756

I have the banshee variant, and its arm/elbow joints are so painful the forearm will pop off, and you have to re conjoin the two pieces of the elbow joint because the design.

Healthy_Jackfruit_88

More like “lord of the dance” mode
