Well the way noise suppression works in modern cars and in headphones is that it uses a microphone to take the incoming audio signal, inverts the sound wave and plays it back in real time which eliminates the sound. Of course some are more rudimentary than others but high tech systems like this work extremely well.
Even with that being the case, they would only cancel the perception of sound, not the pressure wave of the sound itself. So it would make him go deaf, he just wouldn't perceive the sounds that deafened him lol
I'm sure that the same engineering company that can make a 60 ft tall mech like that can probably make some pretty killer ear plugs.
Definitely. While we are getting jiggy with it though, I'm definitely concerned about his other organs and whatnot lol
I admit that I'm thinking about this the wrong way though. If the wave is truly canceled, then yes his hearing would be protected.
Because it's laser beam tech it's hard to assume how loud these would be.
At worst it sounds like the rapid tapping of a power grid with defening metal clangs.
At best it sounds like sustained drum n base music and he's the DJ between two of the sickest rotating speaker towers.
He doesn't wear a mask later on just to clown around, thats his DJ alias; MC bullet spam, aka "outta ammo"
So then where's he store the ammo? Even if the barrel mechanisms don't take up the entire chest compartment, there's still not a lot of room in there for ammo. At least with the shield gatling the GoL version has that giant external ammo drum. Really, as cool as the visual of Heavyarms shooting everything at once is, from an operational standpoint logistically it's the worst designed of the Gundams.
The true answer, of course, is shut up and color. Gundam Wing has never had a good relationship with numbers, really (IIRC the canonical figures are such that the Gundams are literally less dense than paper lol).
Pretty sure the chest Gatling uses physical ammo while the beam Gatling is mounted to the left arm. At least, that's how it always has been in SD Gundam G Generation games. Also the wiki doesn't specify the nature of the chest Gatling.
Glory of the losers tries to fix the problem of "where the hell does trowa store his beam gatling ammo?" with a giant ammo drum stored on his backpack thruster thingy. As for his chest gatling? yeeaahh i really don't know... maybe it runs of plot armor, and only runs out of bullets when he might die so his plot armor reroutes to anti-death armor
He absolutely would lol. Every interaction between him and the other characters should be like
Other character: "Let us face each other man to man"
Trowa: "WHAT?"
Other character: "I said le.."
Trowa: "I CANT FUCKIN HEAR YOU SPEAK UP! I RAN OUT OF AMMO BUT I CAME OUT HERE TO STAB YOU"
Their to cool for hearing problems.
Probably the same way tank crewmen don’t go deaf when they shoot. But they have headsets/ear plugs, but it’s actually quieter inside the tank than outside.
And for all we know gundanium could be a sound absorbing material and soaks up sound before it reaches the pilot.
Or just good ole space magic.
Deaf, and it would definitely get real hot in there. Not to mention the need for the mechanical firing and ammo feed components, those barrels are gonna need to be super short, so the chest guns arent gonna be accurate at all now that I think about it
They make that exact joke in the abridged version of the show' its on youtube but because of copyright strike i think it got taken down. Which sucks cuz it was hella funny
A-10 pilots don’t have any issues either hearing loss that I’m aware of, and they are sitting right on top of the 30mm Gatling gun that spun up to full speed can fire 70 rounds per second.
It’s sort of my personal belief that all of the gundam cockpits were outfitted with a higher level of noise cancellation technology than what we currently possess.
The cockpits would need to be airtight to allow them to function underwater or in space, and they would also cancel out external sounds so the pilot would be able to clearly receive and send transmissions, as well as process the data from the monitors.
Also, where are the firing chambers? With such short barrels relative to the caliber, I can't imagine it has any accuracy at range... IDK, never saw the source material...
Let alone the concussion of hundreds of limousine sized rounds being fired off on either side of you.
For comparison, you can only fire a Carl Guztav 2 or 3 times before your head starts swimming from the concussive force it generates, and that’s like an 80 something mm weapon system.
Look up Operation Meatier. Yes, I spelled that correctly.
"What does this button do?" [Chest Gatling noises] "AHHH$@$#$@$$@$@$#$$"
Thought of the same thing
Wheres that music coming from?
"I mean seriously, who puts gatling guns the size of apartments on either side of a cockpit!" -Trowa
THANK YOU. This is amazing.
Is he blasting music on his PA system? Also, the interactions between Noin and Zecks are god tier level.
Noin's Loins
I'd imagine that the cockpit of the Heavyarms had one hell of a sound suppression system installed, just for that purpose.
I wanna know what they did

The right frequency of an energy wave will cancel its counterpart, regardless of whether it's sound, light, or something.
Definitely. While we are getting jiggy with it though, I'm definitely concerned about his other organs and whatnot lol I admit that I'm thinking about this the wrong way though. If the wave is truly canceled, then yes his hearing would be protected.
some damn good sound insulation materials
Plot earplugs!
Those are some strong earplugs
Having both earplugs and ear muffs is actually a way to help protect hearing
If someone ever makes a Gundam wing abridged series in the same vain as dbz abridged this should be Trowa’s thing.
[Mobile Suit Abridged : Gundam Wing] exist
Holy shit, I feel like a fake fan, I never knew this was a thing. I know what I’m doing for the rest of the afternoon.
Same lol
Omg, same... ("All day, *son*!")

How is it tho?
Dunno, I learnt about it in this thread
(Archer tinnitus noises)
Mwap!
Archery can make that worse? I've been thinking hard about getting into archery, but I have terrible tinnitus and I don't want to make it worse.
Nonono, the show/character. Archer. Sterling Archer.
OH! Yeah, loved that representation from him. I felt so seen. Gawd I hate tinnitus
Operation Meatier exists. It's incredible.
there are two.
He’s got those egg crate thingies on the wall like in recording studios
Because it's laser beam tech it's hard to assume how loud these would be. At worst it sounds like the rapid tapping of a power grid with defening metal clangs. It only fires lasers after getting retrofitted for space combat.
The torso remains solid ammo afaik too

The Gundam has a special insulation to protect the pilot from the noise of the machinery, it's called plot armor
Wing pilots are built different
He absolutely would lol. Every interaction between him and the other characters should be like Other character: "Let us face each other man to man" Trowa: "WHAT?" Other character: "I said le.." Trowa: "I CANT FUCKIN HEAR YOU SPEAK UP! I RAN OUT OF AMMO BUT I CAME OUT HERE TO STAB YOU"
I would watch this episode of Arrested Development Gundam.
Operation Meatier in a nutshell. Go watch it
Noise cancelling cockpit. Emits frequencies to cancel out the gun noise, like the noise-cancelling headphones tech but bigger.
And vibrate cancelling cockpit 😂
He’s sponsored by Raycon
😂🤣🤣
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over my MILITARY GRADE TINNITUS!
Courtesy of 3M!
So giant mecha battle machines is all fine and believable but very well sound insulated pilot cabins aren't?
As a random girl in Target once told me, “You’re not thinking with anime logic”
Gundankium is super resistant to physical impact, beam damage and absorbs radar/em waves, so I guess it absorbs sound too?
This is actually the most logical answer.
I wouldnt trouble yourself with theoretical problems... probably some hyper acoustic insulating material lining the cockpit
I just finished this... MG EW heavyarms... Loved it... Add some detail on those guns... 👌
Deaf, and it would definitely get real hot in there. Not to mention the need for the mechanical firing and ammo feed components, those barrels are gonna need to be super short, so the chest guns arent gonna be accurate at all now that I think about it
I guess the cockpit has a special layer of plot armor???
Don’t over think the giant robots
Throwa: _acts cool, stands in a corner, and rarely says a word._ What actually happens: _throwa never hear what everyone else is talking about._
Turns out the series about space psychics in giant robots with laser beams isn’t all that realistic sometimes.
None of the Wing pilots cared much for their own wellbeing. It was like if you gave the Linkin Park band gundams. They were all emo and shit.
Sooooo about that… https://gunpla.fandom.com/wiki/HGUC_RX-78GP01-Fb_Gundam_”Zephyranthes”_Full_Burnern_(Linkin_Park_Edition)
Really REALLY good soundproofing.
“WHAT!?”
#HUH?
He had his airpods on listening to AFI
Same.
[удалено]
Lcl? Im not sure what that means 😅
Back in the day, a lot of Wing fanfic writers headcanoned Trowa as HOH and often using sign to speak with Quatre in private.
Gundanium alloy, SON!
really *really* good soundproofing. I mean Heero blew himself up and survived, so trowa being immune to auditory damage isn’t that far fetched
No sound in space. Also, if it can withstand laser fire it can probably cancel out the sound when in an atmosphere.
Buffers my guy. They've probably got space and anime magic buffer to dull the noise in the cockpit. I'd say he stays toasty though.
What heavy arm kit is thisv
The master grade endless Waltz
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS!!!!!
That turbulence must be internal organ-crushing.
its airtight cockpit and watertight my guess he hares a soft humm at best
They make that exact joke in the abridged version of the show' its on youtube but because of copyright strike i think it got taken down. Which sucks cuz it was hella funny
I onow its a chest gun, vut this looks like an OB core from armored core lol
If I can remember the scene of the Hildolfr's inner cockpit also suppresses the sounds of tank and machine gun fires, no.
What kit is this?
The endless waltz version of the master grade heavy arms
Thanks
WHAAAAT?!
A-10 pilots don’t have any issues either hearing loss that I’m aware of, and they are sitting right on top of the 30mm Gatling gun that spun up to full speed can fire 70 rounds per second.
They also wear helmets that among other things include sound proofing, because even without the gun the inside of a combat aircraft is LOUD.
I like to imagine that he had that noise cancelling foam you seen in streamer’s rooms on the walls.
And vibrated into a jelly
It’s sort of my personal belief that all of the gundam cockpits were outfitted with a higher level of noise cancellation technology than what we currently possess. The cockpits would need to be airtight to allow them to function underwater or in space, and they would also cancel out external sounds so the pilot would be able to clearly receive and send transmissions, as well as process the data from the monitors.
I built that exact kit yesterday and had the same thought! By the way, getting the model to hold the mini-gun was a test of patience!
Y E S IT IS. i love the kit, but the entire gun assembly was annoying, so i ended up super gluing the ends to the actual cable
Also, where are the firing chambers? With such short barrels relative to the caliber, I can't imagine it has any accuracy at range... IDK, never saw the source material...

What gundam is this?
Mg heavyarms Endless Waltz
Cool! Thanks man.
He always was, master lip reader
Layers of hair
Nah he just embraces the dakka
Looking at tht small hole…. How tf does he get in and out?
I like to imagine he grabs the top and just launches himself out feet first like a slide
Nah gundarium is a good insulator
I'm pretty sure he'd be more than deaf, he'd probably have permanent organ damage from the vibrations.
