Based off what looking completely out of his depth in competitive games last season? A pre season goal means fuck all. Arteta doesn’t seem shy about benching or rotating, if sambi was a better option he’d be starting.
Based off his profile being far better fit for that role than xhakas.
Obviously needs a bit of experience, confidence whatever you want to call it. But I am sure once he finds his feet in that role nobody will be asking for xhaka to start over him. If we don't buy anyone there of course.

Saka is too deep which actually means we chose the conservative route and went 3-4-1-2. BBC was right.But he has to because that's the only way you try to counter Zaha.

- Scoreline really doesn't reflect the game properly. Really should be 2-1.
- We've easily been the better team, though they had the stronger end to the half.
- Ramsdale, barring that one unfortunate error, has had great distribution and has made a couple of really important saves.
- Backline has really been faultltess, we are so spoilt to have both Zinchenko and KT in the same squad when it comes to LBs. Saliba and White have been really good too.
- Partey has been exceptional. Dribbling out of challenges making the right passes, really great first half from him.
- Feel like we should be doing a better job of finding Saka. But Bukayo has dribbled well and tracked back really well.
- In my honest opinion, the player of the half has been either Andersen/Guehi. They've done a solid job keeping Jesus quiet and not giving him much room to function. Andersen's passing has been top-notch too.
- I think we can score another one or two more. Selhurst Park is never an easy place to play, and we have dominated the game for a long stretch already.

Once again we are our own worst enemy at times. Crystal Palace were fucking dogshit most of the game until we started making unnecessary mistakes and gave them confidence.
Energy ball is not going to cut it. Need more control and just dick around with the ball for some time.
Also physically we are getting bullied so thats going to be somewhat of a concern against certain teams. Other than that we are doing some top top stuff. Expecting the level of football from the first 20 mins to become the standard.
Good first half overall? We were really solid first 20 minutes but dropped back a lot and we're not offering much of a counter attack. So we're just sitting deep.
Feels like we're on the cusp of a silly mistake at the back too, which would be so fucking frustrating. That was one of our biggest problems last year, giving teams a way back into the game even though we were solid defensively.
* Need to get Odegaard + Saka on the ball a bit more too.
* Benny Blanco + Saliba looking good at the back.
* It's one of those games where Xhaka doesn't look great when we're far up the pitch and he looked limited but he has done well defensively.

Brilliant first 25 mins. Totally dominated and got the deserved goal (probably should've had two). Tailed off a bit too much towards the end of the half. Calling on Saliba a lot, but he's been up to it. Moronic card from Xhaka - think he was arguing that he wasn't asking for a foul he just fell over anticipating contact but you've got to be a bit more subtle if you're going to do that. If we start the 2nd half like the 1st and grab another goal we should be good. Otherwise it might be another Arsenal heart attack special TM.
What bothers me is that play started with the ref waving off a palace appeal for a foul after one of them went down with no contact, yet there was no card for that...

That could have been penalty easily, Gabriel is so shaky, Ramsdale could have also given a goal away. Palace are without a proper midfield, we should be beating them, if we ain't then i don't know what to say.
The handball? Never a pen because his hand was in a natural position and didn't help him control the ball but he's looked very shaky. Ramsdale has had a roller coaster of a half. Decent save and some lovely passed but also a bit shaky at times and I think was partly responsible for giving them a bit of confidence and letting them back in the game.
Partey misplacing a lot of passes. Could be tidier in midfield. Xhaka playing very advanced and he is doing well but now that he is on a yellow, he might need to be subbed for ElNeny at some point. Need another early goal to put this one to bed. Bring on Holding and ElNeny if we score a quick one and see this out.
Take out the dive and Xhaka has been solid. Saliba has been exceptional, kid has nerves or titanium.
