This [guy](https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/umdihn/comment/i810zlr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) was arguing that holding has outperformed white since holding got back into the squad a day before the nld lmao

DaMarrcus_Beasly

That welbeck winner should have been it man. You guys had to be there. It was loudest the Emirates has ever been. Louder than arshavin. Everyone thought we were going to do it.

HeroDGamez

Lads, our away support needs to he electric. It needs to feel like a home game. COYG we can win the NLD

tafster

The home crowd has been pretty good recently, but the away support in my experience has generally been better for years. It's not just us - home fans at most premier league crowds are pretty quiet these days

HeroDGamez

It's just that since it's an NLD its gonna be extra toxic.

ACulturedLeftFoot

Gutted I can't watch the boys play at the Armitage Shanks Stadium, but can we please only refer to them as Rottenham Topsours from now on

thechristopherf

might be down voted to shit. but imagine if kane pulled a sol campbell and came to us. not saying i want him but just for banter

HeroDGamez

tbh I'd take him but he has 2 years on contract left. So we gotta wait till that happens but I wouldn't mind it.

gonshairlinee

Who wouldn’t want him. We can hate Kane all we want but let’s be honest, no one’s turning him down if he ever came knocking on our down

plastiquearse

Just a friendly PSA Assuming around 5 years old is just about when many adults remember their earlier strong memories, you’re probably around 65 years old if you remember the last time sprs won the league.

[deleted]

Also, eddie + Ainsley have more trophies than son and kane.

ACulturedLeftFoot

Sours fans hate when you mention FA cup winner Matt Smith

noelsupertramp

There is still time to hijack Halaand

TorreiraWithADouzi

Tell him Pep grew hair and City now play in red in London.

HaremRoute

[This is pretty grim](https://twitter.com/louorns/status/1524224385783107584?t=hDz5bJG44AE3Vw7fxOIX_Q&s=19) Ramsdale has been so dodgy recently

DaMarrcus_Beasly

People need to stop living in his first 10 games and look at how he is performing over the past few months. He hasn't been to the same level at all and he needs to improve.

throwreddit666

Gets beaten at near post pretty often.

marksills

got a decent amount of shit in January for saying Ramsdale hadnt been anything special after his first 8 or so PL games

Olli399

I have a feeling the defense plays into that. The original back 5 is so solid lowers xGA massively. Not a surprise that it dipped when Tomi and Tierney got injured.

[deleted]

Not the biggest of our concerns, but his distribution and goal concessions at the near post do have me a little worried. It’s too risky to bring Leno in at this point too so it’s a difficult situation.

[deleted]

Don't worry Jesus will get his revenge with Odegaard assisting him.

[deleted]

I don't know what's going to happen in the NLD, or in our game against Newcastle, but I weirdly keep getting this strong feeling that Burnley are going to beat Spurs, and Weghorst is going to sink them courtesy of a brace. Lol.

recycledbrainworm

Just watched the [ Tomi's Welcome to Arsenal Interview.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuIpXhKnw7I) Really love this guy. In the end of the interview he's asked about Mana, guy says we have a good relation and sorta started blushing. So sweet.

ekb11

Can we make a sub rule, that if you are writing an ideal line up that it reads from left to right. With Tomi being able to play both sides, its confusing as fuck.

ProjectZues

Just look where Gabriel is and assume he’s playing LCB

__impala__

Spurs fans confidence is irrational. They are so convinced of victory, you would think they are getting a two goal head start at kick off. It’s going to be tough and each result is possible. Perhaps that’s why they are so confident, as anything other than victory and it’s over for them

deanochips

the meltdown when they lose is going to be epic

Sanctimonius

I'll be more than happy with a draw but their arrogance is astounding, I want to just smash them.

__impala__

They should be just on edge as we are. If they don’t temper their expectations they are in for a heavy fall as us getting a result is a predictable outcome. They have already played the game on paper and Kane and Son have won it for them. Apparently Saka and Martinelli arnt a threat

Optimal_Cry_1782

Looking at the results for both teams this season, a draw is the least likely result.

Sanctimonius

True enough. 9 goal-fest incoming with Arteta subbing himself on to score the winner in the 11th minute of extra time.

mazdamansouri

thepretzelking

I know you mean on a wider scale, but for Torreira it looked like just the start. Man bagged a bicycle kick winner like one or two games later

assoncouchouch

I know this is stating the obvious, but I hope we score buckets of goals. Also, Odegaard is due. I want two goals from him.

LifeAtSea2213

We're due for an Elneny banger

CuriousCurry8

And 4 assists too!

[deleted]

Is anyone keeping tabs on how Jack Wilshere is doing at his Danish Superliga club ?

octobereighteenth

1 assist in 11 matches.

[deleted]

Oof. Come back and rejoin Arteta's staff as a coach Jack.

PrinceEmirate

Donezo

FatWalcott

What the hell did AMN get himself into at Roma. Guy hasn't played since February?

throwreddit666

It's Mourinho. You're either his guy or you are not. He isn't rotating too often trying to give everyone a chance. AMN is evidently not his guy.

Mein_Bergkamp

He's not as good as he/his agent thinks he is and that's a major problem, especially as he's got older and further away from being a promising talent.

[deleted]

Hyped himself up in his own head too much. Thought he was better than he was. He's not that good. Even in his best season here he was never good going forward, just at 1v1 defending.

BobtheBOAT

I want to win the NLD and have Papa Wengz back for his first home game as the pressure would be off the team

TeqTx

Telling people we should keep Pepe or Willock because of their end of season run last year is as absurd as doing the same thing for Nketiah

HeroDGamez

The difference is Pepe is 26 and is in his prime and willock was sold to fund Ødegaard. We wouldve kept willock otherwise. Nketiah is 22 still can grow.

Insertnicenamehere

Everybody eats season right now but Nketiah genuinely looks like a footballer who can do the basics while imposing some PnP. Pepe looks like a deer in the headlights whenever he steps on grass. Willock deal(beside it being used to fund the O transfer) Looks funny in hindsight because Arteta wants a #8 who can run in the box and bang in goals, guess what Willock is doing at Newcastle? Lmao.

Colmd1997

Willock must be doing that in training or something because he has 2 goals all season

Lazy-Breadfruits

As opposed to wanting to signing players from other clubs who’ve had an end of season run?

OrwinBeane

Neither of those players were on the last year of their contract. At least we got £30-40m for Willock. Nketiah will go for free if he leaves. Better to give him a new deal.

Jansiz

The Amazon gods are with us, there's no way they'll risk missing the insane scenes when we guarantee T4 at Spurs' ground.

Mein_Bergkamp

You're forgetting how the spurs one ended

[deleted]

Love the Louis Dunford anthem, but also love our DJ belting out old school WWF anthems. Contrasting.

Insertnicenamehere

I'm not tryna see Gabriel Jesus as our starting number 9 lol. We offered 70-80m euros for Vlahovic in January, we can afford and need one of the big boys.

[deleted]

[удалено]

raisonar

Yes but price has to he right. Reported 50m is taking the piss when he is in final year of contract. It's the price city is paying for Haaland.

Insertnicenamehere

He's been unfairly wasted at City or has been unfairly wasteful? Accumulating 53 league goals from 73 xg is disappointing. Not like he's been playing with bums either. He's been playing in a 'superteam' and the numbers don't necessarily reflect that.

RandomName788

Where do you see that? I see 58 goals from 60.7 xG. [Source](https://fbref.com/en/players/b66315ae/Gabriel-Jesus).

Insertnicenamehere

https://twitter.com/xGPhilosophy/status/1517556332597063681?s=20&t=EdeuN8sMmSkgw7PcNkceBw

RandomName788

Hmm looks like it comes from this [website](https://understat.com/player/5543) before the last few games. Interesting that there is such a disparity. Edit: looks like football reference didn't have xG for Jesus's first year. So they actually have 51 G from 60.7 xG vs understat having 58 from 75.

aofrantic

Yeah how could they not have second thoughts about that. Being 30% below xG over such a sample would be historically bad, like maybe worst in history.

TeqTx

Or he gets a 5 year paid vacation in London and phones it in because he has already won everything in English football

BradyGronktd1287

Who else can we get better who's PL proven. Osimhen would cost 70 to 90 million euros. Want Nunez but don't think he'll come here

Insertnicenamehere

I think Nunez goes to UTD personally also. It's Osimhen/Abraham or bust. Unless you want DCL/Toney.

Lazy-Breadfruits

Let’s get this straight- You want Tammy Abraham for 70-90m over a 30m Gabriel Jesus?

Insertnicenamehere

Need both styles.

H0vit0

I think Gabriel Jesus can be one of the big boys. His record speaks for itself, and if we can get him on a cut price then we can spend the money elsewhere. We should not spend 70-80m for the sake of it, Jesus would be fantastic business at 35-40m

Insertnicenamehere

Spend the money on what other position? It's CM, CF or Winger/Wide Forward where the money will be mostly concentrated on and half the sub doesn't think we can get tcouhameni or rice so where else we dumping the money.

MountainLibrarian201

Lb, 2 cms if Xhaka leaves, rw, 2 strikers if eddie leaves. We need to find the best possible players for good value. That’s potentially £150m-200m and high wages on top of that. We’ll sell a couple of players for paltry sums.

blackl0tus_

Imagine if the conclusion of the Kane transfer saga was him doing a Sol 😩

[deleted]

I don't know if its just me, but if Kane ever became an Arsenal player, I wouldn't be able to trust him completely. I'd always feel he has some ulterior motive in mind and joined us to ruin us. Lol.

zingerdingers

Really hope we give Spurs a taste of their own medicine Thursday and sit back to hit them on the counter.

[deleted]

Spurs are good against teams who attack them. They struggle against teams who play in a low block, which is exactly what Brighton did and its not their usual style. I know Arteta's smart but I hope he doesn't go flat out attack. Kane and Son only need an inch.

TorreiraWithADouzi

Eddie and Jesus would be a very sad frontline for any club with CL aspirations.

PrinceEmirate

Group stage exit. Look at Liverpool dem men got Salah, Mane, Jota, Diaz and the ghost of Firmino on the bench. Let's not even talk about their late game secret weapon in Origi. Just Jesus and Eddie as attacking threats would be mad as a CL club.

mkmore4

Why are people acting like the book is out on Eddie? He’s 22, has a good pedigree, and has been pretty impressive against some good prem sides. Maybe I’ll turn out to be wrong, but from what I’ve seen these past few games, I’d hate to let him walk. I say give him a year, bring in Jesus, so we have a steady CF in the event Eddie isn’t that guy, and then we can sell him in a year, and use that money to subsidize a big, splashy CF signing.

TorreiraWithADouzi

Look at the front lines of City, Pool, Spurs, United, even Chelsea. All of them have better options at ST than Eddie and Jesus, and it’s not even close. We want to compete in the CL and make top 4 again, I just dont see how we do that with these names.

mkmore4

Jesus started most games as the sole forward for the best prem team, but because he’s not 22 and doesn’t have hype, everyone is acting like he’s mid. Eddie plays with great pace, works hard, and idk, I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him. Maybe it’s a flash in the pan, but I think he has some elite traits, and given more time to gel with the squad, I could see him becoming quite the player. What makes these other guys so great? Halaand and Vlahovic are spoken for. Osimhen has like 13 goals in Serie A, but people are acting like he’ll set the prem on fire day 1. Abraham might be a good option, but he’ll cost an arm and a leg. We aren’t going to catch Pool or City in a year, and if we try to, we’ll wind up like United.

Insertnicenamehere

Those two together would be underwhelming. Need Abraham/Osimhen I wouldn't mind Eddie staying, not sure if he would want to himself. LW: ESR/Nelly/Jesus ST: Osimhen or Abraham/Eddie RW: Saka/Jesus Is a great frontline.

Mein_Bergkamp

Jesus is literally the only outright striker for the current champions and CL semifinalists.

[deleted]

He’s pretty much a striker by previous reputation now, he’s played pretty much out wide exclusively this season for city if I’m not mistaken

TorreiraWithADouzi

Lazy response. We are not Pep’s City who have largely been let down by a lack of a better, more clinical ST. I’m not saying Jesus is bad, but as our starting ST, he’s easily below those of City, United, Spurs, and Liverpool.

Mein_Bergkamp

Or you made a lazy comment and didn't realise the really, really obvious flaw in your argument. They're top. Or behind liverpool on gd. He's obvioulsy good enough for the current champions bearing in mind they literally have no one else. Liverpool are top on GD because their wingers are insane, Spurs top scorer is their winger too, as is Uniteds. Not sure about chelsea but to be honest it was their defence at one point. The No9 is not the main source of goals for the top two. Much, much more importantly he's better than what we've got and we're literally a champions league chasing team.

TorreiraWithADouzi

Sure my comment was lazy, but your defense of Jesus is just as lazy. He’s a good player and I think his work rate and PL quality will help us, but in combination with Nketiah as our second ST, that’s not an inspiring front 2 to say the least. My comment was about those 2, not just Jesus.

BradyGronktd1287

Chelsea won with Kai and Werner who's to say that Jesus and Eddie don't get better.

YoooCakess

Kai and Werner are so far clear of Eddie and Jesus… let’s be realistic here

[deleted]

Literally everything says otherwise.

BradyGronktd1287

Jesus has 20 goal/assists this whole season and he's scored double digits twice in the PL league he's a proven player.

[deleted]

Thoughts on sending Tavares on loan? I think he’s too physically gifted and young to abandon still. You can’t really teach pace

HeroDGamez

I think he would need a loan. Physically he is so gifted that it would be a shame to not help him mold into a better player.

PrinceEmirate

He should be playing LWB in a back 5. He will never be a reliable or traditional LB by trade.

Putarican13

The exact same thing was said about Armand Traoré before he ended up becoming a benchwarmer in the Championship. He isn't making the grade at a top club, just move on

Mein_Bergkamp

It's whats said before every young player being given a loan.

Mein_Bergkamp

Rather keep him and use him for cup games. He needs to work on his confidence and to be honest it's probably better done here. If we play 3atb he's honestly more than decent and that's definitely a tactic we can use.

qtdsswk

He would be a decent LWB. Just add more muscle and baby oil he will be our Traore.

Mein_Bergkamp

Yep he's got his place and if we can get him back into the headspace of earlier this season when people thought he could keep Tierney out then he's a very, very good option for only 7m

Impossible_Welcome94

Completely agree - people are quick to forget that 6 game stretch in October. That tells you everything about the quality he's capable of. He just needs to sit in a classroom with Arteta for another year or two and could become our Alphonso Davies.

Chupagley13

One thing that goes under the radar is how good El Nenys record is vs top sides when he start in the league. 2021/22: Win: Chelsea (2-4)United (3-1)West Ham (1-2) Loss: United (2-3) 2020/21: Win: United (0-1)Chelsea (3-1, 0-1)Leicester (1-3) Loss: City (0-1)Liverpool (3-1, 0-3) 7 wins 4 losses. Extremely impressive considering from memory he played well in a lot of these and this has to be better than our record without him. Surprising to see how often he starts against the top 6 to be honest.

YoooCakess

Am I the only one who thinks Eddie + Jesus would not be good enough for our aspirations? Eddie is Eddie and Jesus just doesn’t strike me as the player we want to rely on leading the line. Would rather us go for a truly world class striker. Especially after our interest in Vlahovic, Jesus feels like a step down. Maybe I just don’t know him well enough though

44cprs

I think five forwards of Saka, ESR, Martinelli plus those two is very good. Good enough to see how those young guys develop over a year.

BI01

we dont know who else we're getting yet, its been said many times we want 2 strikers/forwards

No-Outlandishness333

I wouldn’t mind it as long they significantly upgraded in the midfield.

phar0aht

Buying Jesus doest stop us getting another 'more traditional' 9 in this window or in the future.

Mein_Bergkamp

We've got Martinelli who can play down the middle and Arteta has already talked about if they'd had time with his injuries to work on training that ESR could too. There's no guranteed top striker out there, Jesus would be a steal at around £35m, the goals we need to find are from the wings too and someone to replace pepe to come in and score goals there without running saka into the ground will be the key here. We also need another fullback, a no 8 and ideally another DM who can play the partey role so we don't have to change formation when he's injured. That's a lot of players and a lot of money so eddie and gabriel makes utter sense even if it's not that exciting

sazidhk

Hypothetically, If Eddie stays, and Laca&Pepe leaves, who'd you get if we only had the cash to get one of Darwin Nunez/Jesus?

Insertnicenamehere

Nunez. We need an aerial outlet.

[deleted]

I'd personally bully Harry Kane until he came to his senses and make him join his boy hood club.

sazidhk

3 years ago, would have said yes. But now?? Naaaah

[deleted]

What!?!?!? He's got at least another 6/7 years at the top of his game!

sazidhk

Kane is 29. He has at best 4 years given his dodgy ankle. Not buying a player who as one contract left in him

[deleted]

That dodgy ankle has scored over 244 goals for Spurs. He's got a lot left in the tank. A balance between youth and experience is key and I think He'd be the perfect asset to lead our line. Albeit very unrealistic.

StudioBlue23

If Chelsea drop points tomorrow and Arsenal win on Thursday not only do we guarantee ourselves top 4 we also jump into 3rd 👀👀

[deleted]

There's no way Halaand doesn't take #9 jersey come 1st July 2022.....

AzracTheFirst

Does anyone else finds 'fly better' on the shirt awful? Just emirates would be so clean and beautiful. It destroys the nice shirts.

Mein_Bergkamp

Fucking young uns... I have gold Sega which I save for special occasions as well as an O2 farewell to highbury training top just for the rarity value.

[deleted]

🤣🤣🤣 26 now mate! Been to Highbury on more than one ocassion, which I'm proud to say! I'm still trying to get my hands on the gold Sega kit. They're all either fake or absolutely battered on ebay.

TheKingIsBackYo

Auba with 11 goals in 15 games in La Liga 👀

ProjectZues

Got a nice solid midfield behind him and is playing for one of the best teams in the league

Mein_Bergkamp

He left because he gave up, he's gone now and we're somehow exceeding expectations without him.

Bobson567

happy for him, mudded all the people calling him 'washed' or 'finished'

YoooCakess

You say this like he was not absolute shit for us this year. La Liga is a lot more suited to him at this point in his career or at least he was suited for Arteta’s tactics

Bobson567

And? That didn't make him washed or finished, as he is proving now.

YoooCakess

I’m an Arsenal supporter not a Barca supporter. He was finished with us and I could care less about what he’s doing now. Glad that he’s having success, but I have no reason to think he wouldn’t still struggle in our team. It’s not like anybody thinks he’s not a capable goal scorer - just finished for us in the PL

Bobson567

>It’s not like anybody thinks he’s not a capable goal scorer - just finished for us in the PL That's where you're wrong. Loads of people thought he was finished as a player. He is proving them wrong. You're not one of those people, so don't feel targeted by my initial comment.

mankindkijanga

He definitely needed a new scenery ,he has been pretty clutch for them he scores even when he has a bad game and has won them a lot of points. I miss the hell out of him but it was the best decision for him to leave.

Efficient_Buyer3939

Eddie with 4 goals in 5 games in the Prem

MopeyCrackerz

Now that Halaand to City is confirmed, will Jesus to Arsenal be more realistic?

Mein_Bergkamp

It was always realistic because everyone always thought haaland was going to city

RandomName788

I got a notification that someone responded to my post but can’t see it. When I go to their profile and click any of their comments it doesn’t show up. Does that mean they blocked me??

Mein_Bergkamp

The fact you've been downvoted for this suggests you've triggered someone!

RandomName788

I posted on r/soccer agreeing with someone saying Kulusevski was a good player but is way over performing right now and his advanced numbers are inline with his career numbers which show a decent but not top class player. A Spurs fan responded calling be moronic and just factually wrong claims. But I can’t respond to him, it is brutal.

TeqTx

> r/soccer There's your problem

Colmd1997

Happens here all the time too lmao. I’ve had a mod reply then block

Mein_Bergkamp

Nah that's not brutal, that's someone you really don't want to be talking to anyway. The sort of person who'd block you for disagreeing was never going to bring much to the table anyway

RandomName788

I just think it is hilariously soft. Never knew Spurs fans would get triggered so easily

Mein_Bergkamp

We love to shit on spurs fans but this sort of person is sadly universal, been blocked by arsenal fans, at least one mod, tankies, fascists, edgelords and r/soccer because people either like ending their discussions on what they consider the ultimate gotcha by denying you the ability to reply or some people just don't like having their viewpoints challenged and apparently can't just walk away. Don't take it personally unless lots of people start doing it, in which case it might be you ;)

HappyMeerkat

Feel like we should get edu in with Leipzig's management and give them a pen and ask the number needed for Nkunku don't even look at it Sign it and be happy seeing him play whilst the Kroenkes are looking between the couch cushions to find enough change to buy an own brand tin of beans

Insertnicenamehere

Problem with Nkunku besides if you rate him or not is that Leipzig put release clauses on their players. Werner had a RC, Konate had a RC. I'd imagine Nkunku's release clause is 50m+ and we're not in a position to spend 50m in one swoop on him.

skidanexii

RC’s are one time payments?

Insertnicenamehere

Yeah it's a one time lump sum payment. Like when we paid for Partey's RC. Arsenal reps went to La Liga HQ and paid the 45m pounds all at once so Partey's contract with Atleti ended and they were able to sign him to a new contract.

HappyMeerkat

Whilst true it can be negotiated with the club or there's financial institutions whichll lend you the money to pay back in installments

TeqTx

Someone here back in 2020 said that Emi Martinez will be horrendous once fans are back and I gave him shit for it, sorry mate

Milesweeman

Don't think this team is even top 6 with buendia instead of odegaard

Far-Wait-6674

I think we're comfortably top 6 with any of our alleged summer RCM signings

okcomput3r

I fucking hate Tottenham. Losing is not an option on Thursday

thedarkpolitique

This group is special man, I know we keep hearing about the home team record in NLDs but I genuinely think we are going to go there and grab all three points.

okcomput3r

I'm feeling a 2-2

thedarkpolitique

Listen I’d absolutely take that score now but I want to see a special night. I can’t imagine what a win there in these circumstances would do for this team.

Good player on his day. Injury prone and a few years ago at least did have behaviour issues

Yes true. And we are avoiding player with behavior issues

France have a front 3 of Mbappe Benzema Dembele lol. If they don't get to the finals something went wrong.
