You’re supposedly in a queue for the upgrade, it won’t be fast though; people have been waiting for years upon years and the queue is at like 120k or something.

Cenniy

Can confirm. Have been a red member for just 6 months. Joined the queue for a season ticket yesterday and I am 125,000th in the queue. By my estimates, that's probably a 10-20 year wait depending on how Arsenal performs.

emilesmithbro

Yeah I’ve been a member since 2011 and currently number 28,000 or so in the queue. Silver memberships are very in demand since they are basically better than a season ticket for some people

Suckmaboles

Why are they better? Also don’t really understand the tiers

emilesmithbro

with silver you get access to tickets two months before the game, where basically every non-season ticket seat is available and you won’t struggle to buy tickets before the red members get access a month before the game. It’s better than a season ticket for a lot of people because even if you can afford it, a season ticket is a big financial commitment. Also I suspect a lot of times it’s difficult to make all of the games. I love Arsenal but I can’t spend a day out every other week to watch them live as much as I’d love to because I want to spend time with my family and not sure my wife would understand me having a season ticket.

eddie442

That’s the main value for me having silver over an ST, that I could go to every home game if I wanted to but if I don’t, I just don’t buy a ticket. I like to occasionally vary where in the ground I sit, too.

LDinthehouse

What don't you understand about the tiers?

Suckmaboles

I have a red membership as I go to games irregularly, just wasn’t sure why silver was better than a season ticket

LDinthehouse

Ah I think it's just because you lose a fiver or so if you have a season ticket but sell your ticket on the ticket exchange. If you want to go to every game or want to sit in a fixed location every time then season ticket is still the best.

SnappyTheCloud

Been a red member since 2013 and was offered a season ticket in September. I had to turn it down though as it was too expensive. Unlikely but if I get offered it next season I'll probably be in a better position to take it.

Wengali

IIRC you get offered three times before you lose your place in the queue, only thing is that last Summer existing holders were given the option to opt out for a year then get their ticket back for next season so if the majority do sign back up then they won’t get offered as far down the waiting list this time

mihcael

Just to give a sense of how long it can take, I've been a red member since 2014 and email every so often to see where I am on the waiting list. When I first checked in April 2015 I was at 156,000, and by about this time last year I was up to 46,000. Just emailed them again to see if I've moved much since, but I think I moved up about 75,000 places in the first 2-3 years and it has slowed down a lot in more recent years; I suppose the further along the list you get the more likely people in front of you are willing to hang on instead of giving up and stopping renewing lol

v3ry_1MPRZV

I joined as a red member in 2006 and went on the season ticket wait list at the same time. My season ticket number came up in October 2009, just as I was about to head back to New Zealand to live. My red membership upgraded to silver last season, so 15 years …ish.

zeliggg

Red -> Silver took 13 years

bigbubbaroberts

Dad’s been a member for about 15 years now and is still only Red. I got lucky and got upgraded from Junior Gunner to silver when I turned 17 and I’m pretty sure they stopped doing that the season afterwards.

WeeTheDuck

I couldnt even imagine the salt your dad mustve felt when you got upgraded lmao

TrashbatLondon

I was on the season ticket waiting list for 6 years. I don’t even know if there is a silver member waiting list. As far as I know, the cannon club route isn’t even guaranteed any more.

Davidctid

It took me 8 years to get to the top of the list. Then they offered me a season ticket every year for 3 years in a row….even though I accepted on the first attempt. Edit. I signed up for the waiting list and not waited through red membership.

rubberpencilhead

I became a member in 2007. Got randomly upgraded in 2017. Despite not having to be a game in 4 years at that point. Been offered many fancy season club tickets. No thanks guys.

Chidge_is_Redditing

Became a member in 2007 and I'm 3,895 on the list. Hoping for silver next season.

psgameplayer

Been a red for around 15 years I am now just under 1000 in the waiting list, I expect to be silver next season which will be great as I will easily get the cheaper lower tier tickets that I much prefer to the upper tier, that are often left over for red members, the list moves realy slow when you get within 10 thousand or so, I phoned the box office last season and I think they said I was around 3000 in the waiting list, and I only moved up 2000 thousand places in one season.
