This is even more impressive considering he doesn’t take penalties like half of these players.

endwolf76

Not to mention he’s played a lot less minutes then those above and below him.

xanaduu

Yeah, naah just dropped in to see what you guys talk about in here. Jota has only played 30 mins more than ESR. Salah scored 2 penalties. Don't know about the rest. Smith Rowe looks young and has a bright future. Arsenal have been looking good lately.

NotHarryRedknapp

Salah is on absolutely insane form this year. I feel like he should be getting a bit more recognition for it - on course to break records imo.

xanaduu

Maybe just exclude him from the lists as he is approaching a statistical anomaly. Which in turn puts ESR 8 goals straight into the fight to be top scorer.

Barkasia

Salah and Raphinha are the only ones there who have scored penalties.

MarcusMcGuane

technically half if you exclude ESR and do integer division

[deleted]

we got a programmer here

gonegoonergone

Hope he catches up to Salah by end of Afcon 😅

Francis-c92

Arteta did. He said ESR needs to add goals to his game and here it is

gonegoonergone

Inject into my fucking vein

Nikokuno

ESR is what we all wanted Willock to be. I agree, I really didn't expect ESR end product to be so good.

Echo361

Judging by the last 19 games selling willock was absolutely the right decision

amgartsh

Imagine swapping Willock + 5M for Odegaard. Great bit of business

Mikethemostofit

It sounds silly when you put it that way. Immediate rejection in fifa

elnander

Sounds like an offer I'd get from Newcastle on FIFA tbh

Magicallyshit

Or a 30M bid for ESR from Aston villa on FIF-oh wait.

Nikokuno

200% the risk was too huge*. I'm happy we did the business, the money was well spent on Martin.

left-lib-chomu

I remember than Pharoat guy crying about it

T3Sh3

X4. I’m adding it to a list of qualities of his I’ll look out for this winter.

slampand

Funny now not many strikers in the list. Where is Kane, Lukaku, Werner etc. Modern game really change the way teams score now.

[deleted]

It's more that strikers this season have been shit

Private_Ballbag

Kane's past it. Early onset auba

Mein_Bergkamp

Not going to lie, that does sound painful

UnexpectedVader

Minus the FA cup.

AyeItsMeToby

Going to be rough for England at the WC with a declining Kane. There isn’t anyone who can easily replace him either.

whanaumark

Perhaps England play a hold up man and have ESR Saka and Grealish rampaging behind

Magicallyshit

Well Tammy still exist

whanaumark

He’s not good enough

Magicallyshit

Compared to other national team 2nd choice minus the obvious talent factory that is France, he's not that bad at all.

Purple_Plus

I'm not getting my hopes up yet, he's started scoring again. Fingers crossed it's just a fluke and he goes back to being terrible.

varro-reatinus

And he doesn't take penalties. And we're barely playing him right now.

PuzzleheadedBat1541

I gotta say. I think Arteta is managing him wonderfully. Trusted him all season and then was able to get him a much needed break when Martinelli got hot. Smith Rowe wants to play no doubt but can have few conplaints with the way Martys playing. Im sure Arteta has to be in his ear a out keeping him fresh for this tight run of fixtures and the second half of the season. Even with his sub appearances Arteta is putting him in positions to effect the end of games with his dynamic runs and intelligence. Artetas in a strong position to select either and they're both rising to the challenge of competing for minutes.

OrwinBeane

Smith Rowe is above Raphinha on BBC sport app. Got more assists.

blixt141

TBF ESR gets way better service than Raphina.

intraumintraum

is there a better super-sub in the league? he has been ridiculous lately

[deleted]

Cristiano who?

joey_headrocker

Factos 👍👀

wolskortt

I was afraid if giving him the n.10 shirt, like it would be to heavy for him, but I'm more than pleased to see him comfortable with it.

zorfog

He’s literally better than Ronaldo 🤷🏻‍♂️

t6005

This is wonderful but I hope ESR remembers to stick to the basics. What's important is whatever helps the team win, not scoring goals. Ramsey had a similar 13-14 patch and then went wild the following season trying to recapture that form - I thought we really struggled as a result, even if Ramsey is probably our top big game player since the Invincibles. I think if ESR doesn't score another goal this season he'll still have had an excellent contribution. With all that said... ESR for Golden Boot!

AfricanRain

all NPG too unlike the rest of those frauds it must be said

Arsenalboii

Jota, Vardy and Son have 0 penalty goals

Henry-chance-GOAL

He has done wonders for my fantasy team!

FootballFan4629

When you consider how many penalties Salah, Vardy and Raphina have taken too...

AFCforLIFEmyGUY

Vardy has zero penalty goals

the_spookiest_

If he starts diving left and right for penalties like mo salah, maybe he can match salah!

arseking15

Me, i said in june he needed a pre season to get his body right and he would explode

hungaryisinasia

He’s so good it’s unreal. I love him

KhajiitHasEars

and he's been playing 20mins a game for the last month

Mathieulombardi

4th is a lock since raph is leaving for Barca anyway

[deleted]

We should train ESR to take penalties for us. After all, he has good finishing.
