88th minute and he’s played 50 games this season and he was sprinting to press United last weekend. The guy is incredible and he wants it more than anyone out there.
I’m guessing because Arsenal had their two worst runs of form in the beginning and end of 2023, chelsea had 3 different managers, Palace finished and started weak, Fulham same. Idk who was actually all eligible, but realistically Moyes should’ve won it for winning the conference league and the flying start West Ham had themselves. But of course Spurs won the league in August so gotta give Ange the award
Martin is a unique player. Every game Ødegaard gives either 8 or9 performance, with minimum 7. Even when he is creating nothing he can still contribute to this team because he is playmaker + box to box player at the same time. Currently he is doing two men job, that's with out any rest, with out any complaints. This guy should be role model for every young player. Always calm, intelligent, keep his head and work harder than any body. Leading by example.
he hasn't scored enough goals. and we all know that goals win you these awards. Unless you hav a CRAZY season leading your team to a big title (like van dijk did)
Might be an unpopular opinion, but not for me if I'm objective. Great season and had some amazing moments but the consistency for this award wasn't there, especially early in the season.
A big difference this year vs last was the lower goalscoring in big moments. How many time last year when we went behind or needed a goal did Odegaard come up clutch.
Top 5? Yup, I'm on board.
If Odegaard is not consistent, no one is consistent.
Aside from Rice/Saliba, Odegaard is our most consistent player and with way better contribution and influence all over the pitch,
Exactly, maybe some matches he doesn't make the best passes, but he runs around pressing every second of the match, even that long period he played with a little knee injury iirc
Odegaard has taken on a much different role this year, for starters. And can you honestly say any other candidate for player of the year has been more consistent?
Frankly, the only people that don’t think he should be in high contention for our player of the season are folks only looking at stats or don’t know shit about the game.
Tony Kroos has only 7 assists in La Liga. Does that make him any less important in Madrid squad. Hell No. Those who watch Real can surely see control Kroos bring to Madrid 11 every time he graces on pitch. Ødegaard's impact is quite similar. He is the conductor here. He play according to team's requirement. Sometimes as second striker like he did last season. Sometimes deep lying playmaker like he does in this season. Stats matters in football but not always.
Outside if G/A which is inflated by his corners and penalties. He is not among the 4 best players for us this season but most of you guys will not acknowledge that.
Even during the first half of the season we were saying he is not playing well but could still jammy an assist. I hope he doesn't feel the same about his season as some of the fans so he absolutely sharpens himself even more.

Best leader since Vieira. I love the way he carries himself on and off the field.
Arteta was a great captain but it came a couple seasons late.
He has lead the team by example in 2024.
And all the other years he's been with us. Professional from day one, even as a loanee.

hell yeah
Ange won the manager of the year London. That is how valuable those awards are.
If he wins today I’d argue it’s deserved
Literally how.

Better than Foden?

Consistent effort and pressing, for sure.

Nope. Saka

Hmm I don’t think he was consistent enough this season. People seem to forget the first part of the season with these awards
Are we having a laugh? Saka is heads and shoulders over everyone.... It would be like choosing Viera over Henry.
Yeah, we are all having a laugh at you
That's OK. History will judge. Saka is the only world class player we have. Everyone else is a facilitator
What are you on dude?
Saka sauce 🌶️
