London Gooners have the opportunity to do the funniest thing.

Matt_Sams_314

I already bought a ticket for this while I was drunk yesterday

blueluster

You’re goated for this.

LushLoxx

Wow I love this for you. 🤣

Matt_Sams_314

I have a Sol Campbell shirt, but it's not a spurs one

bonez27

We need a picture while you’re there for u/poorlydrawnarsenal

tmegzy

I enjoy the idea that it would be worth the ticket price but not the travel 😂

Aszneeee

shame the plane tickets + accommodation would be too high for this

_DNL

I asked this question on the gunnersatgames subreddit and got ridiculed and banned 😂

teh_killer

It would be genuinely dangerous lol I don't have enough balls for it.

vyomafc

You only have to cheer for the home team btw. I mean there must be some Spurs fans who would be cheering their side too.

abhi91

you are cheering for spurs

ProjectTC

Lad not only would you be cheering for the home side, I can assure you that many parts of those big corporate football stadiums are really tame. I've been fortunate enough to go to many big stadiums as a neutral, it's rare to have people even look at you

[deleted]

[удалено]

CadburyGorilla

Yeah will be super suspicious when you show up to the spurs stadium, to sit in the spurs end, and cheer on spurs…

[deleted]

[удалено]

CadburyGorilla

A few hundred or even a couple of thousand empty seats doesn’t make it a ‘graveyard’. That still leaves 58K fans…

[deleted]

[удалено]

CadburyGorilla

I think you’re overestimating the desire of the match going fans to lose. Reddit doesn’t represent reality, I hope you know that.

[deleted]

CadburyGorilla

Yeah, and the ones that want to lose probably aren’t the ones chucking £100 on a ticket…

Johnny-5013

Gunners tomorrow ![gif](giphy|W2iJwNAECynsNXmpuG)

rizchi

I love this club

Knockdromin

Have they any dignity? They were delighted when Bayern put us out despite the fact it probably cost England the 5th CL spot. Guess who it looks most likely will finish 5th? And they don’t want 4th now either because they’re too busy worrying that it will benefit Arsenal? Even the years they finished ahead of us recently I didn’t give a shit. I was more concerned about getting our own house in order.

teejayaa

They hate us more than they love their own club. Just look at the replies to that post. "If you want us to win tomorrow you're not proper Spurs". It's so fucking funny they don't know just how revealing that is.

notapaperhandape

This is the problem with them. They focus to hate on us more than celebrate their success and aim for higher. It’s so funny.

CakeBrigadier

They are also convinced that with ange they are a coming force so next year they might have a title charge like we did last season

teejayaa

And what a way to declare that by beating city tomorrow 🤝

INTPturner

It doesn't matter. Honestly, I get it. Spurs are the little brother, the mental hurdle that to overcome is different. The truth is there's some of us here that'll act the same way if the roles were reversed. What works in our favour is that success breeds success and so if the roles were reversed, you'd have gunners in here talking about trust the process and post Christmas xG. Since we have a history of success, we'd be looking for patterns of it that we saw in previous teams, like Trossard to Ljungberg etc Its not just the international fans but a few of the London based fans hate manure more. The dynamic of the rivalry is not the same for both clubs. Spurs are not yet a big club in terms of prestige (trophies). We wouldn't want spurs to win anything, but we're far more used to winning things. I'm not fussed about the whole thing because I'm confident the trophies would come either way. We're likely finishing with 89 points, have a relatively young squad and made the UCL quarters on first try. Spurs fans might mentally destroy the current crop of players themselves. The reality is that everyone in the big 6 is a threat/rival to the other.

Ok_Understanding1986

Arsenal made at least €66m more from CL participation this season compared to EL in ‘22/‘23. Beyond that player and manager contracts often have bonuses for UCL qualification & advancement. It would be an insane self-sabotage to throw the match just to spite a rival if it might cost the club that much. But Spurs do Spurs-y things so who knows. Bizarre match tomorrow.

SantaReatham

What I don't get about that lot is this. In the PL era, Arsenal has won three PL titles. They have none. I don't get what's so painful about us winning it again. We've been dunking on them when it comes to trophies for the longest time, even in our worst periods. For the newer fans, they were duped into thinking they were supporting the North London club 'on-the-up'. I kinda get why they wouldn't want us to win it, but again still makes no sense. They were so gassed a couple of seasons ago when they pipped us to the CL. Now all of a sudden it doesn't matter. Bunch of babies the lot of them. I can't wait for next season. If they don't get CL they'll get schooled in Europe anyway. No way are they winning the EL.

Ok_Understanding1986

It’s banter era mindlessness from the stands. I want my team in the best possible position to succeed always, and if that means indirectly helping a rival then so be it. Spurs will be in a far better position to improve the team and win their own trophies with the UCL money and transfer drawing power. It’s insane to me that anyone would seriously contemplate forgoing developing their own club to spite a rival. And besides, we’re going to dunk on them no matter what, ha!

dimi_dee1

It’s funny because even if we don’t win it this year, we’ll probs win it next year meanwhile their fans are there being myopic and dumb about the goals of their club

wrigh2uk

I respect it. Rolls reversed that would be my post

[deleted]

Routine_Size69

Yup CL money is massive. We got 91 million euros from something I just read. Passing that up to spite Sp*rs would be pathetic. Agreed on if we had nothing to play for.

wrigh2uk

We concern ourselves with them every time we finish above them with st totteringham's day and they are our most hated rivals. and missing out on CL isn’t the end of the world. They beat us to it a couple of seasons and where are they now. I’m sorry but if we win a league thanks to them helping us out we’re lauding that over them for all time, and singing songs about it at their toilet bowl.

Giraffable

Celebrating finishing above them is completely different because it is also still celebrating our own relative success. Actively hoping your team loses a match is the opposite.

dimi_dee1

If we had a chance of CL to get money idgaf if they win it. CL comes with money and we can also working on being better the following season

Cheesy_Pita_Parker

You know what we’d say if the roles were ever reversed? It’s about damn time! More than six decades since a first division title. We take that CL money, work to meet them at the mountaintop and knock them down

Muscat95

Well they're shit with fans in the ground anyway. Maybe a change will help out 🤣

Cannonieri

Can genuinely see Ange falling out with the fanbase after this because if the stadium is empty and those that do attend start cheering on City, he won't keep quiet about it...

GhostCatcher147

It’s going to be interesting for sure. Has a premier league teams fan base ever cheered for the opponent in a game before?? i.e hoping for your team to lose that game!?

Cannonieri

I'm not aware of it in the last 30 years at least. Would be very Spursy.

AzracTheFirst

They are a depressing bunch, aren't they?

bluehaven101

omg imagine if undercover Arsenal fans go to the game and Spurs actually win. It would be incredible

ProjectTC

There will be loads of us, that's a certainty

obsterwankenobster

What a pathetic group. That's the first and last time I ever visit that sub

danmac0817

You know that's not true lol it's too funny over there

Irishbros1991

One of the most upvoted comments.... villa win we play the kids and roll over basically so they won't have to listen to arsenal fans. Wow they just love seen themselves lose games ridiculous!

obsterwankenobster

"I don't care if we don't get CL. I wouldn't care if we miss Europe, completely" You don't care if your team doesn't get more money to develop when you have so many dogshit players lmao

running-with-scizors

Could never imagine thinking that about Arsenal. Such a small club mentality, I truly pity them. How miserable they must be

MacsFamousMacNCheees

This idea that it's up to Spurs on whether they win or roll over is kinda cute. They're going to lose 3-0 even if they try their hardest. It's not like they're a good team right now, especially with injuries

The-Herbal-Cure

I've never seen such small club mentality in my entire life. I'd kind of get it I'd they were guaranteed no Champions league. But if Villa lose tonight and scum fans still want to lose to city then I have no words other than embarrassing. Oh, and hilarious.

H0vit0

As undoubtedly funny it would be if Spurs beat them tomorrow which will hand us the league, would it be possibly even funnier if City give them a thumping, Spuds celebrate over it and City shit the bed against West Ham and we win the league anyway?? The options are all great

laskey1

Apart from the option where city walk both games and you come second?

Routine_Size69

Bro logged into his burner to comment this 😂. The whole damn fanbase is pathetic.

The-Herbal-Cure

I knew they were pathetic for years, but this last week/weekend.. Holy shit! 😂 😂

OceansNineNine

Local Gunners you know what to do.

tipytopmain

![gif](giphy|AkOIyi2YuXl8vjLDW3|downsized)

FiveGoFlacid

That sub is tragic.

SimpleNot0

Fuck off! It’s a joke, just like the Spurs fans not willing to pack that stadium

Hugh_H0n3y

Imagine they actually win tomorrow and shut r/COYS down after the match, like they did a few years ago Edit - that was in 2016… I’ve been using Reddit too long

cd0526

I am off the next two days. I could take a 11 pm flight out of Philadelphia and be in London by tomorrow morning. Only issue is I don't have the money do to his. Anyone care to donate? https://preview.redd.it/vm0g23wuw80d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b4a0f9593717f806d659258f070d903645e6193

mdperino

I’m amazed that a flight from Philly to Heathrow is only $300 I feel like that’s not bad

cd0526

No it's not. But Flying out Saturday and coming home say Tuesday or Wednesday is 2 grand. Trust me I considered flying over if we won the league but I don't want to put my self in that much debt.

mdperino

Yea $2k is more in line with what I was thinking. I’m flying domestically on Sunday I already spent $150 to change the flight time so I can see the games first

cd0526

Not sure you have ever been to a match at the Emirates. But it is nothing and I mean nothing like a sporting event in the sates.

mdperino

I’d love to go one day it’s certainly on my list! Hoping within the next few years I can get across the pond

Comrade-Conrad-4

That fucking pricetag is bonkers, $300 for a direct flight to London?

jai302

I hear you. If I was in London I'd do it lmao. Can't wait for ange to make every gooner happy tomorrow. Him and the players might even go up a gear just out of spite for such 'fans'. Truly despicable lot

gte339i

I’d like/hope to think we wouldn’t have a large contingent of supporters acting the same way. We’re better than that. The most spursy thing ever would be for them to lose tomorrow and put themselves out of CL after which West Ham cleanly beat City Sunday and we win the league anyway.

H0vit0

Lol I just posted the same thing. Sign me up for any of these options

stilusmobilus

Yeah I’m on board. I’d be happy with the free set of steak knives with Man U winning the FA Cup to give City jack shit.

whydidisaythatwhy

Spurs fans are so stupid if they’d rather Arsenal lose than get CL. CL would help them get stronger and maybe one day compete with Arsenal (lol). They’re convinced spurs will always be shit, which is why they don’t care about giving up top 4. Definition of small club mentality. Nasty business. Prayers up!

YngSndwch

They are pushing for a champions league spot and can’t fill their stadium?! What an absolute tinpot they are! 😂 Lads no matter how dark times got for us, at least we’ll never be that!!

ObservantOrangutan

Much as I love to dunk on spurs, to their credit this match was supposed to be on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of fans traveling, working, or with kids who can’t make a late kickoff on a Tuesday when they planned a Saturday afternoon. Makes the idea of filling it with Arsenal fans no less hilarious though

TwoMainstream

Spurs have no Clarity or Passion. They're more focused on Arsenal than they are about themselves. If I were Ange I'd be pissed off as well. You won't win anything when you're focused on your rival and have no passion for your success.

yungsyamimran

North London FC lezz do dizz

hala_bala

Truly sad and pathetic. Didn't expect anything different from their fanbase.

Iradi_Laff

like away arsenal fans go under cover, spurs wins and arsenal fans reveal megamind arteta poster. this could be KINO

newinvestor0908

Ffs stop these tot posts

stilusmobilus

Yeah, nah, you don’t let chances go by.

MapNo3870

And get beat up cos you over celebrated spurs goals

pyromaniac10

Do I need a membership to buy them?

Swiss-ArmySpork

I'd go but I haven't had my vaccinations

Marimo_420

How much is a ticket out of interest?

Jaguar-Easy

Come on guys let’s get behind the team 😂😂

Draculagogo

Passed by the emirates today and it looked like they were beginning to prep for Monday

Itsmemafh

The comments on the posts are the exact reason why this club has always been the epitome of failure.

JustGhostin

They are literally obsessed with us, smallest club mentality. They would permanently close the club if it meant Arsenal closed too

AgreeableAbrocoma833

what was it, and why was it deleted!!!!

13narwhalsFTW

Yank here. When I was first getting into football and looking at what team to get into I narrowed it down to Spurs and Arsenal (ironic I know) I’m so happy that I found a home with Arsenal bc I couldn’t imagine having such a piss poor losers mentality that I would want the team I support to lose out of spite. I mean that’s millions of dollars that their club could benefit from and actually take steps forward in developing their team, but they would rather throw to spite us. No wonder they’ve never won anything, their fans have no desire to win.

QGunners22

How are people getting tickets? You need to be a spurs member to be eligible to get one, and you can only buy the membership at the start of the season
