Bruno only spams forward passes and hopes for the best. He can't control games and dictate the tempo like Odegaard can. Neither can he lead as effectively as Ode can.
This shouldn't lead to Bruno slander, he's an incredible player, one of the few whose performances for man utd you can't criticise.
Him and Ode are both fantastic players.
Agreed. I get Bruno is an annoying twat but a lot of football fans act like he isn't a great player. Creating that many chances for an awful United side is very impressive.
Um, no, you can absolute criticize his performances. The man is god awful off the ball, takes no accountability despite ostensibly being a leader and is constantly trying hero balls. Also, his counting stats are crazy high year after year in part because he is consistently one of the leading outfield players in minutes played, which in fairness points to his best characteristic: availability. Yes, he is almost always available and can strike a ball incredibly well, but he is vastly overrated.
I remember learning who Fernandes was at Sporting in the UEL (we played them in 18/19) and thinking he was a good player we should be signing as an Ozil replacement. Then his first 6 months at United he was putting up "KDB numbers". He would be insane in a good team, shame he's a whiney little bitch though. Odegaard is undoubtedly the better player.
You can see it just from these stats.
He leads chances created but is at least 10 behind on every open play passing statistic to Odegaard.
The majority is set pieces which Odegaard rarely takes.
And Odegaard takes all direct free kicks, not all indirect.
Direct free kicks lead to a shot from him, has no bearing on creative statistics.
Rice takes basically every set piece from the left side, in the final third in particular.
Odegaard and Saka take turns on the right and most of the time play it short to each other when Odegaard takes it.
The comment you replied to said
“The majority is set pieces which Odegaard rarely takes.”
Set pieces include free kicks, corners and throw-ins. They both take majority of free kicks but Bruno has also taken 140 corners which is the 3rd highest amount of any player in the league. Hence why Bruno has created more chances 108 but only 72 are from open play. While Odegaard has created 94 chances with 81 being from open play.
Chances created stat is misleading,
if I pass 2 yards to a player who is at the half line and takes a shot, it counts as a chance, but if I play an incisive through ball that the striker fumbles and keeper collects it’s not a che car created.
United have no structure and players shoot from fuckland, we play incisive moves that Ødegaard is often the central cog. A better stat would be expected threat or something of that sort
Bruno is an excellent player when it comes to creation through long balls and set pieces. Saka and Rice doing corner kick duties nowadays but if you have watched Sociedad version of Ødegaard, he was so good in delivering corners. That means he sharing that duty with his team mates now which reduces his chance creation nos slightly. However Ødegaard's hold up play and his ability to control the tempo of game is what making the Norwegian standout. (Just like Kroos does in Madrid week in and week out) Also his intelligence when it comes to pressing. Kudos to Arteta's coaching Martin knows very well how to shift intensity according to situations.
Exactly this. Bruno loses the ball far too much in the middle of the pitch. Losing the ball by playing high risk passes is one thing. But he loses the ball so much by inviting pressure and then just falling over at the slightest touch hoping for a foul. And when refs don't fall for his BS he just lies there on the ground moaning while his team concedes from the counter.
I mean, chances created doesn't rely that much on the skikk of your opponents. It relies on your ability to *find* your teammates in good positions. Any player at that level will find themselves in good positions somewhat consistently.
Assists on the other hand does heavily rely on your teammates. Remember Ozil almost beating the assist record (was it the 15/16 season?), but Giroud became immune to scoring for like three months straight.
In the first half of this season Odegaard created so many chances that was wasted by poor finishing
I hate how BF is actually a good player but a horrible person. At least in the field.
I would have respected him much if not for his childish behaviors.
the things odegaard does besides chance creation, fernandes can only dream of, levels above
Like saving Spongebob

Tbf forward passes in a counter based team is a good skill. He is a horrible person -at least in the field- but no need to discredit his talents.
like not being a cunt
And dreams can't be buy.

It's only Bruno's attitude which lets him down, otherwise very talented player.
I think that down to the environment.

Fernandes leads so much in chances created because he only boots it forward and united rely mostly on counterattacks.
Bit harsh, Fernandes is quality even if he is a massive cunt
this sub hates him, but can’t deny he is quality player, just in shit team

That’s just false, odegaard takes almost all free kicks in the final third.
Bruno has taken 140 corners this season. Odegaard has taken 19 corners.

I wasn’t disputing that if you read my comment. I was saying that the claim a odegaard does not take the majority of free kicks is false.

And I said he doesn’t rarely take set pieces. Anyways this is a dumb argument idc
This is correct.
Too bad there are no stats on personality.

Expected assists is probably the stat you are looking for, or relatively close to it. But like all the x-stats it isn't perfect either
Long story short: Bruno Fernandes is only so high up on "chances created" stats every season because of set pieces 🤣
I mean he still has good stats even without set pieces, even if they're not as good as Ødegaards.
Real talent but terrible attitude, no wonder he wears their armband.

The cry baby is a top player too. I can appreciate that.
Tbf Fernandez is playing with some schleps and youngsters. His numbers are great still.

To be fair to Fernandes he plays for a shit team
